Dems call for more "oversight". No penalty for current, clearly complicit "regulators".-----Clarice Feldman - You Can Bank on it: A Cheat Sheet on the SVB Collapse - American Thinker
The bank officers know, or certainly should know that is the case...SVB held tens of billions of dollars in long-term government bonds. On its face, this may seem like a prudent investment for a bank, but Treasury securities are riskless only when held to maturity. If you have to sell before then, you can easily lose money if market rates have risen since you first purchased the bond. For example, buying a 10-year U.S. Treasury bond with a 2% coupon at par and holding it for 10 years earns you 2% per annum. But if you sell early and rates have jumped -- say, 4% since you bought the bond -- then the price will have declined to about $838 per $1,000 face value, meaning you incur a loss of $162 per $1,000 bond.
...But that’s not all there is to the story.

Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro said he sees fighting climate change as a top priority for the Navy as the Biden administration proposes shrinking the fleet by two ships and worries grow about how the U.S. Navy stacks up to China’s.
"As the Secretary of the Navy, I can tell you that I have made climate one of my top priorities since the first day I came into office," Del Toro said March 1 in remarks at the University of the Bahamas.
Del Toro said he met with Bahamas Prime Minister Philip Davis during his visit and spoke "at length" with him about the climate crisis and focused the bulk of his remarks on climate.

“The students asked the other teacher if I’m a boy or a girl, and the teacher was like, ‘Does it matter?'”
Assenting to the teacher’s logic, the child was said to go on, “No, I just, I just can’t figure it out. It’s just so hard. I can’t figure it out.”
Having gleefully reenacted the struggle of the unidentified child, Ryan then displayed her own satisfaction with a victorious fist pump as she said, “And I was just like, yes, that’s the goal. That’s the goal.”...
Democrat gonna steal your vote...AGAIN!-----‘National Popular Vote’ scheme would let California choose Michigan’s president
- House Bill 4156 would disenfranchise Michigan voters in presidential elections
But a bill submitted in the Michigan House would change all that.
- No longer would Michigan award its electoral votes to the candidate most Michiganders vote for. Michigan’s electoral votes would be given to whichever candidate receives the most votes in what activists call “the national popular vote.”

It's the STORAGE stupid!-----A Simple Reason Why Net Zero Is Impossible | Watts Up With That?
- It is simply impossible to provide enough energy storage to make renewables reliable.
- American grid reliability must be maintained.
- ..our working estimate of the required storage is an amazing 250 million MWh.
- America today has less than 20 thousand MWh of grid scale battery storage, which is next to nothing.
- None of this impossibility is being considered in today’s reliability assessments.
