State money for Detroit bankruptcy deal no sure bet in Michigan Legislature, but Snyder confident | MLive.com
LANSING, MI -- Gov. Rick Snyder's push to boost Detroit's bankruptcy with state money appears to be gaining steam but is no sure bet in the Michigan Legislature, where lawmakers representing all parts of the state may decide whether to send up to $350 million to the struggling city.
Tentative agreements between Detroit and its under-funded pensions would
reduce proposed cuts for retirees and could pave the way for the the city to exit bankruptcy without selling off art work to satiate creditors.
