Follow the money------Bringing Central American child refugees to Vassar is topic of upcoming town meeting

Bringing Central American child refugees to Vassar is topic of upcoming town meeting | MLive.com: "VASSAR, MI — Vassar residents are invited to meet Wednesday, July 9, to learn more about a plan that would house Central American refugee children in the mid-Michigan city.
Wolverine Human Services, which has a 145-bed juvenile facility in Vassar called the Pioneer Work and Learn Center, could house some of the children who are coming into the United States by the thousands from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala.
The U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. General Services Administration have met with the Wolverine facility's leaders to discuss a contract.
According to the Wolverine's website, the agency is reviewing a contract to maintain a 60-bed shelter for male unaccompanied minors ages 12-17.
The children are not defined as illegal immigrants, according to Wolverine."
