Muskegon County police agencies have reported eight homicides in 2014 as of July 16.
Six of those were in Muskegon Heights.
All eight happened within less than 12 weeks between April 23 and July 11.
All were caused by gunfire.
Five of the shooting deaths, including four in Muskegon Heights, happened in an 18-day period starting June 24."
