"For years after his conviction, a 78-year-old Detroit business owner who shot and killed a man, remained free because the court forgot to sentence him.
"I've been on this bench for 35 years," Wayne County Chief Circuit Judge Robert J. Colombo Jr. "I don't' remember this ever happening before."
Colombo said the court is investigating what led to the oversight..."
