I’ve been in the East Wing of the White House at least a half dozen times over the years.

For those who haven’t, it’s really more of a functional passage than a grand space.  - Lee S. Gross
There’s a reception portico, a small holding area where guests are packed in after going through security, a hallway, a coat room, a family movie theater, and offices for the First Lady and her staff.
It’s the public’s entryway, but compared to the rest of the White House, it’s pretty modest.
The East Wing wasn’t even part of the original White House.
It was added in the 1940s..
Samuel Adams - As a descendant of the President who built the peoples house, I can say with absolute resolve that this is an important and needed renovation and the fact that it's being privately funded is all the more reason to celebrate this as an historic moment.
