The claim is Mamdani’s radicalism can be used to corner Democrats as extreme and out of touch with regular Americans. 

This may be true in some cases, but it’s a dangerous game..
Mamdani is a jihadist version of Che Guevara, and the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) are training candidates just like him to run for office. 

They're in a hot pursuit for power over the Democrat Party and ultimately, the United States of America.
