Governor Whitmer got a $1M re-election campaign boost from
Big Energy in 2022, and in return, she signed legislation that puts the state in control of green energy projects. Conveniently, Governor Whitmer appoints the members of the Michigan Public Service Commission, which now approves these projects. This Lansing back-scratching is why Michiganders pay 28% above the national average for electricity, but we’re ranked second in the nation for power outages.
