When he objected to the pro-Islam homework material being taught to his daughter, Wood contacted administrators and has now been served with a no-trespass order that forbids the father from setting foot on school property.

Wood called to have his daughter excused from the coursework that he deemed to be heavily pro-Islam. He spoke first with an assistant and eventually with La Plata High vice principal Shannon Morris.
School district spokeswoman Katie O’Malley-Simpson claims Wood threatened to cause problems at the high school, but has yet to offer any specifics. As a result, Wood is now banned from campus."

Now, as Mark Schauer — one of the chief architects of our lost decade — makes his pitch to become Michigan’s next governor, he’s dropped a bombshell on Michiganians in the form of a new plan for massive new government spending.
And he’s expecting you to pick up the tab.
Schauer released his so-called “Blueprint for Michigan” this summer, outlining his priorities including billions in new government spending.
While the media robustly criticized the document for lacking specifics, fiscal analysts began digging through it to find out what it might cost taxpayers.
A former House Fiscal Agency director pegged the new costs in Schauer’s plan at $2.2 billion per year. 
The Mackinac Center for Public Policy, a free market think tank based in Midland, puts the price tag at between $2.4 billion and $3.7 billion annually.
(The Mackinac Center also noted that its estimate was “conservative,” citing at least a dozen additional new government programs or departments in Schauer’s plan with costs that were impossible to estimate.)
Assuming a slightly more conservative estimate is accurate, the math on that new spending comes out to a new $1,000 per year tax, per family, across the state of Michigan....

The Ebola virus can hide out in a man’s sperm who is recovering from Ebola for three whole months, meaning anyone he has unprotected sex with is at risk for catching Ebola.

Funny, the public health crowd loves telling others what to do, but doesn’t seem so big on following instructions itself. 

This does not inspire confidence, and will make it much harder to get ordinary Americans to comply with public health measures in the future.

Meanwhile, such behavior just strengthens the case for mandatory quarantines for everyone entering the country from Ebola areas. 

We obviously can’t trust their professionalism and willingness to engage in self-sacrifice — at least, unless they’re from Tennessee."

...Next week, students at Sidwell Friends can enjoy Philly Cheese Steaks; and they will have meatball submarines the following week.  
Veterans Day is not a holiday at Sidwell Friends, and beef nachos are on the menu.  
Nachos, wings, chips and cheesesteaks – lunch fare most American kids can only dream about now.
