Decked Halls

By Tammy Derouin

This past Christmas, the Pres-a-king did his best to create an atmosphere of division among men. No matter where you were located or whether you had a green, white, or sandy brown Christmas, the Pres-a-king took care of the decorating.  He wasted no time and even got an early start.  If you listened real closely and removed the Forward colored glasses, you were treated to the sites and sounds of the transforming season and nation.

They decked the halls with scorn and hatred…Tis the season to be racist…

One of the People Behind Common Core Admits There Are Issues With the Program | TheBlaze.com:

"Many Americans are familiar with the controversy surrounding the Common Core educational standards, which some say are convoluted, political and prevent parents from being involved in their children’s education.

But fewer know that at least one of the three men who wrote the mathematics portion of Common Core, William McCallum, admits there are problems with the standards. Phil Daro and Jason Zimba — McCallum’s co-writers — see ways they could be improved, too."

How they "think"-----Michigan needs a law to ensure paid sick leave for all workers

The money to pay for this will come out of the pockets of evil, rich republicans, so it's a good idea...... right?
Guest column: Michigan needs a law to ensure paid sick leave for all workers | MLive.com:
"Marissa Luna is a new media specialist at Engage Michigan, a nonpartisan, non-profit organization that promotes progressive change in Michigan through independent research, public education, and the use of new media and internet outreach campaigns.

Paid sick days have helped my family in difficult times.
A couple months ago, my brother became very sick and had to go to the hospital.
My dad was able to take days off of work to drive him there and help take care of him during that time.
Had it not been for my dad having paid sick days through his employer, I don’t know who would have been able to be there for my brother.
There have been plenty of times when I’ve gotten sick and wasn’t able to go in to work.
It’s days like those I’m grateful that I have paid sick days.
With rent, student loans, and other bills, I can’t afford to lose pay.
....It’s time to start having serious conversations about getting this type of law on the books in Michigan.
We can’t let corporate lobbyists stand in the way of this common-sense reform and deny others the same rights they enjoy, while continuing to stuff their own pockets.

The association also discouraged officers from making any arrests “unless absolutely necessary.”

Revolving door paybacks------Michigan Rep. John Walsh, Judge James Robert Redford to join Snyder administration

Michigan Rep. John Walsh, Judge James Robert Redford to join Snyder administration | MLive.com: "LANSING, MI — Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder on Tuesday announced two key administration appointments, filling open positions as he prepares to begin his second term.
Outgoing state Rep. John Walsh, a Livonia Republican who was prevented from running for re-election this year due to term limits, will serve as Snyder’s “director of strategy,” replacing longtime advisor Bill Rustem, who retired last summer.
Kent County Circuit Court Judge James Robert Redford will serve as the governor’s new chief legal counsel, replacing Mike Gadola, who Snyder appointed to the Michigan Court of Appeals earlier this month.
...Walsh, an attorney first elected to the state House in 2008, played a prominent role in shaping the “Grand Bargain” legislation that saw the state contribute to a settlement that has been credited with helping speed up Detroit's bankruptcy."

New Obamacare Statistic Proves Obamacare is a Socialist Scheme:

"According to new data released by the Obama Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), we’re reminded that Obamacare, at its roots, is not a program to provide more affordable health care to more Americans, but is a socialized redistribution of wealth scheme."

The answer to EVERY social ill is more laws...right?------Drunk boating, snowmobile bills signed by Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder lower BAC limits

Drunk boating, snowmobile bills signed by Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder lower BAC limits | MLive.com:
"LANSING, MI — Michigan is strengthening laws designed to discourage drunk individuals from driving boats and other watercraft, snowmobiles or off-road vehicles.
Gov. Rick Snyder on Tuesday signed bipartisan legislation reducing the maximum blood alcohol content level for those operators from .10 to .08, matching the current limit for automobiles.
“It is vital to keep our waterways and other recreational areas safe for all Michiganders,” Snyder said in a statement.
“This is common-sense legislation.
We want people to operate all vehicles responsibly without harming themselves or others.”
.....The tougher laws “will save lives,” said Rep. Matt Lori, R-Constandine, earlier this month after the House unanimously approved his drunken boating bills."

Despite population gains, moving company says Michigan still a top 'outbound' state

Despite population gains, moving company says Michigan still a top 'outbound' state | MLive.com: "LANSING, MI — Michigan's population is growing again, but that's not necessarily because people are leaving other states for the Great Lakes.
In fact, more people packed up and left Michigan than moved here in 2014, according to an annual migration survey released by Allied Van Lines.
...Only New York, Pennsylvania and Illinois saw more outbound traffic.
U.S. Census estimates released last week showed that Michigan's population grew by about 11,500 people between July 2013 and July 2014.
That was the third straight year of growth, a positive sign for the only state in the country to lose population between 2000 and 2010.
But the census data was not all good news for Michigan: North Carolina saw larger growth and moved past Michigan to become the ninth-most populous state.
..."Michigan still is in a situation where we are not attracting as many people as are migrating out," said state demographer Eric Guthrie.
While full data is not available, Guthrie said that Michigan's recent population growth is likely a result of births outnumbering deaths — but not by a wide enough margin to offset outbound moves."

2014: The Year The Liberal Lies Died - Kurt Schlichter - Page 1:

"The mainstream media used to get to decide what was and was not the truth. But the truth has been set free, and the mainstream media has been revealed as the guardian of the lies that the liberal establishment needs to fool normal Americans just enough to secure their votes. That’s why we should laugh and cheer at the mainstream media’s agonized death throes.

Let’s look at a few of the lies we saw collapse in 2014. Not one would have been revealed if the mainstream media was still in control."

87 per cent of Obamacare customers to get taxpayer-funded subsidies in 2015

87 per cent of Obamacare customers to get taxpayer-funded subsidies in 2015 | Daily Mail Online
A whopping 87 per cent of Obamacare customers to get taxpayer-funded subsidies in 2015 – but the Supreme Court could throw out the whole $65 BILLION system
  • HHS said Tuesday that about seven out of every eight Obamacare enrollees will get government help paying for their medical insurance policies
  • That number was 80 per cent a year ago
  • People on Obamacare can get subsidies if their households earn less than four times the federal government's official 'poverty' level
  • Sixty-four per cent of Americans have small enough incomes to qualify, meaning that Obamacare customers are disproportionately poor
  • Entire $65 billion subsidy system could become illegal next year, depending on how the Supreme Court rules in a landmark case

"Jason Riley, appearing on FOX News Sunday, took the so-called “cops are racist” narrative head on, and the political-correctness police aren’t going to be happy about the pure, unadulterated truth in his bold statement which virtually no one has the courage to address, especially the racial grievance industry profiteers:"

Grubergate Update: Just Revealed Gruber Docs Will Send Democrats Running for Cover:

"While those who suggested (i.e., Sarah Palin) that the still highly unpopular Democrat-passed legislation would use healthcare rationing as a strategy, they were laughed at and ridiculed.

However, a newly discovered research document from Gruber, shows that the plan from the beginning was to ration care, and that Gruber knew the Obamacare scheme would NOT make healthcare more affordable.

Uncovered by The Daily Caller, the Obamacare architect wrote in the 2009 policy brief, on page 10 under Affordability, “The problem is it starts to go hand in hand with the mandate; you can’t mandate insurance that’s not affordable. This is going to be a major issue.”

Them daze is gone........Free Speech’s Shrinking Circle of Friends

Barry A. Fisher: Free Speech’s Shrinking Circle of Friends - WSJ:
"An essential freedom-of-speech paradigm was established in 1949 by the Supreme Court in Terminiello v. Chicago.
In that case a vitriolic, racist speaker spoke to an auditorium packed with supporters. Outside the auditorium was what was described as “ ‘a surging, howling mob hurling epithets’ at those who would enter and ‘tried to tear their clothes off.’ ”
The police blamed the mob’s action on the speaker, Arthur Terminiello, a Catholic priest under suspension by his bishop.
He was convicted of disturbing the peace and fined.
The Supreme Court, in a 5-4 decision, reversed the conviction and ruled that Terminiello’s speech was protected by the First Amendment.
The court said that the police, instead of taking action against the speaker, should have protected him and controlled the crowd..."

Yeah, big surprise.......Illegal Immigrant Families With Deportation Orders Go Missing

Illegal Immigrant Families With Deportation Orders Go Missing:
"Thousands of illegal immigrants who spilled into border states earlier this year have “disappeared” from government tracking, according to a recent investigation by a Houston TV station.
96 percent of the more than 4,100 families released on recognizance and ordered deported did not show up to court.
The wave of unaccompanied children and women illegally crossing into the United States between July and October was so large that Border Patrol had to release thousands on their own recognizance due to lack of detention space.
Now, many of those ordered to be deported “can’t be found,” says investigative reporter Robert Arnold.
The Obama administration has repeatedly reinforced these cases as a top priority, yet the Houston TV station found that only a sliver have been sent home."

The Most Outrageous Government Scam of 2014

The Most Outrageous Government Scam of 2014:

"The left loves to talk about “fairness” and “inequality,” but where the inequities really exist is in towns like Scranton. Middle-class private-sector workers pay higher and higher taxes to fund public-sector pensions that, as the Manhattan Institute has shown, are often twice as generous as what most workers will receive themselves. The money for supersized pensions isn’t going to come from millionaires and billionaires like Bill Gates or Warren Buffett. It is coming right out of the paychecks of working-class Americans."

WHITE COP KIDNAPPED AND MURDERED BY BLACK MEN- MEDIA SILENT!

WHITE COP KIDNAPPED AND MURDERED BY BLACK MEN- MEDIA SILENT!
To the media, all life doesn’t have the same value…

While the examination of the death of Michael Brown consumes newscasts, a dead white cop killed by black men has garnered scarcely any attention. The incident took place in Waynesboro, Va. Police Officer Kevin Quick, a member of the Waynesboro Police Department, was abducted by four African-American men. (H/T: Top Conservative News)

The case received little to no attention until this weekend, when a letter to the editor in the Lowell (Mass.) Sun brought the case back into the internet spotlight.
“Nowhere in the national media was this murder of a police officer put to paper,” the letter read.
“But when a white police officer shot a black man named Michael Brown in Missouri, it made the national news for months.”
“What hypocrites the media has become.
Where is the outrage for Quick?
Where are the beserk [sic] protesters burning and looting in the name of officer Quick?”

Happy Holidays: FDA Moves to Ban Cake, Donut 'Sprinkles'

Happy Holidays: FDA Moves to Ban Cake, Donut 'Sprinkles' - Breitbart:
"Early next year, the FDA is expected to finalize a new regulation intended to eradicate even trace amounts of partially hydrogenated oils, known as trans fats, from our diets.
Although the amount of trans fats Americans consume has declined significantly in recent years, the FDA’s quest to completely eliminate a particular type of trans fat threatens to eliminate the noble “sprinkle,” used to decorate holiday treats and donuts.
Even a small amount of joy is suspect in the FDA’s brave, new, food-monitored world.
In recent years, research has determined that consuming large amounts of trans fats is harmful to the heart.
Trans fats have been in the American diet since the 1950s, but recent awareness of its health risks have pushed food companies and restaurants to minimize its use.
Today, Americans consume just 1.3 grams of trans fats a day, around 0.6% of total caloric intake.
No research has shown this level of consumption to pose any risk.
The proposed FDA action underscores the challenge of a permanent bureaucracy. "

Iran’s launch of ‘environment schools’ coincides with Obama’s ‘climate change’ education push

Iran’s launch of ‘environment schools’ coincides with Obama’s ‘climate change’ education push - EAGnews.org:
TEHRAN – Iran’s Department of Environment is setting up “environment schools” to better educate citizens on “global warming” and other environmental issues of concern to the government.
“DOE director for public education Mohammad Darvish said a number of movie directors, producers, Majlis legislators, and Friday Prayers leaders have been instructed with tips to help improve the public’s awareness about environmental issues,” the Tehran Times reports.
The goal is to “make the public more aware about environmental issues and ways to protect wildlife,” according to the news site.
The government hopes to make all elementary and middle school students aware of environmental issues within a twenty-year period, Darvish says.
Some 56,000 teachers will receive “training in environment protection,” as well, from the government.
Sixty schools around Iran will be converted into pilot environment schools for the next academic year.
A similar push is occurring in America.

How they "think"-----Stanford Dean for Religious Life claims churches should focus less on religion, more on art

Stanford Dean for Religious Life claims churches should focus less on religion, more on art - EAGnews.org:
"STANFORD, Calif. – The church needs to focus more on art and less on religion and converting people in an effort to become less “churchy,” according to Stanford University’s Dean for Religious Life, The Very Reverend Dr. Jane Shaw.
“I think people are always slightly surprised that I’m not very churchy as a person,” Shaw told the Palo Alto Online in an interview.
“I don’t think church is to be more churchy.
I think church is about, anyone should be welcome.
I’m really interested in how you welcome many different kind of constituencies, certainly not convert them, not even necessarily to do religion all the time.”"
