Things ain't gonna get better for the Frogs

More Than a Million French Protest Law: "More than 1 million people poured into the streets across France and strikers disrupted air, rail and bus travel Tuesday - even shutting down the Eiffel Tower - in the largest nationwide protest over a youth labor law."
Their economic system is near collapse and no one, their leaders nor their citizens will face the truth.

"Truth? You can't handle the truth!"

Ask them why Washington and not Michigan!

High-tech companies to move into potato country: "QUINCY, Wash. - In the heart of potato country, a high-tech boom is taking place.Technology "
I'm not sure Jenny would like the answer.

Are you happy to see me or....

..... or is that a picnic in your pants?
Hernando: Man caught with groceries in pants: "Rodney A. Covington walked out of a Spring Hill supermarket Sunday night with a 12-inch pepperoni stick in his shorts, police said, and that got him arrested"

Pretty bad timing

U.S. suing Farhat over his father's unpaid taxes: "A Muskegon state representative and two of his siblings are being sued by the federal government for allegedly converting the proceeds of their father's two life-insurance policies to their own use, subverting tax liens placed on the payments.
David Farhat, R-Fruitport Township, is named in the federal lawsuit filed in Grand Rapids in which the IRS is seeking to reclaim $47,891 from the four for their parents' unpaid taxes in 1993 and 1994. The tax liability of $242,612 has grown to $589,000 with penalties. Also named are Dianna M. Farhat and Daniel R. Farhat. "

Bozo alert!

Principal lost donations in scam, cops say: "Police say the former principal of Otsego Baptist Academy scammed up to $80,000 in donations intended for the school, but he apparently was being scammed at the same time.
James Arthur Millward, arraigned Monday in an Allegan County District Court on two felonies, told detectives he sent thousands of dollars overseas as legal fees to try to get a $15 million inheritance in England. "
Someone investigate the School Board members, fast!

What were they thinking?

WSJ.com - Wages of Politics: "The list of policies that could help Michigan's troubled economy is long, including lower taxes and a reduction in health-care rules and litigation costs. But Michigan's Republican-run legislature has decided that the top priority is to raise the state minimum wage."

The increase that passed the state senate unanimously this month would raise the minimum over the next two years to $7.40 an hour -- one of the highest in the country, and well above the national minimum of $5.15. How this will help the state with the third-highest jobless rate (6.2%) outside of the Gulf Coast is a mystery. The libraries are full of studies showing how states lose jobs when they impose wage controls.
When will the GOPers realize that pandering to the leftist media and making deals with the democrats is a fast ride to unemployment..... both for us citizens and for elected GOPers.

Imagine if Tom Delay had a Molly Ivans doll....

SEAN PENN - PENN HAS TORTURE DOLL:
Hollywood activist SEAN PENN has a plastic doll of conservative US columnist ANN COULTER that he likes to abuse when angry. The Oscar-winner actor has hated Coulter ever since she blacklisted his director father LEO PENN in her book TREASON. And he takes out his frustrations with Coulter, who is a best-selling author, lawyer and television pundit, on the Barble-like doll. In an interview with The New Yorker magazine, Penn reveals, 'We violate her. There are cigarette burns in some funny places. '
Imagine Perkie Katie reporting that Delay had placed "cigarette burns in funny places" on a doll. My golly, Katie's head would turn purple!

Build more jails?

Thousands rally in Grand Rapids against immigration legislation: "Thousands of protesters waving American and Mexican flags marched through Grand Rapids' streets to protest federal immigration legislation. "
Making all illegals instant felons might sound good to some but our jails would fill up overnight and other countries would retaliate big time. Bad idea. Deport those we catch (no dragnets) and deport them immediately. Create a national database and imprison repeat offenders. And impose giant fines on companies that hire them.
The guest worker program isn't a bad idea but giving illegals special rights to become citizens is insane! We've got to treat all immigrants equally.

Gov. race even!

Election 2006 Poll: "The latest Rasmussen Reports poll in the race for governor of Michigan shows Democratic Governor Jennifer Granholm and Republican Dick DeVos tied, 44% to 44%. This confirms the tightening of the race first reported last month."
Funny, the MSM didn't report this last night or this AM.

PoliPundit.com

PoliPundit.com: "Nanner Nanner Boo Boo
The only thing I did hear on my way home was a brief snippet of Sean Hannity talking about Alec Baldwin. Ian Schwartz has the tape of the mud slinging I heard Hannity describe. Is it just me or does it seem the only person on the left not spewing wild conspiracy theories or calling names is Joe Lieberman and the Democrats are treating him like a leper right now.
-- Lorie Byrd

You know you're getting old...

...when you've never heard of the "Sexiest Woman in the World" or her TV shows.

GoodShit:: "Scarlett Johansson tops a lovely list of the '100 Sexiest Women in the World,' in a poll of readers by FHM magazine.
'One of the best things for a woman to hear is that she is sexy,' the 21-year-old actress, star of 'Match Point' and 'Lost in Translation,' said in a statement. 'I'd like to thank FHM's readers for the huge compliment.'"

Reporters surprised? They're just not lookin'

United Press International - NewsTrack - Justice Scalia flips the finger in church: "U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia startled reporters in Boston just minutes after attending a mass, by flipping a middle finger to his critics....
'You know what I say to those people?' Scalia replied, making the obscene gesture and explaining 'That's Sicilian.' "
Ya gotta love it when a Supreme speaks for the common man! Yee ha!

Human nature?

OpinionJournal - PEGGY NOONAN: "Singh stared down the line of eight carriages. All the windows of the compartments were wide open but there was not a single human being standing at any of them. . . . [He] strode to the first carriage, snatched open the door and stepped inside. In one horrible instant he understood why no one was getting off the Ten Down Express in Amritsar that night. It was a trainful of corpses. The floor of the compartment before him was a tangled jumble of human bodies, throats cut, skulls smashed, bowels eviscerated. Arms, legs, trunks of bodies were strewn along the corridors of compartments."
I read this book 30 years ago. Chilling then, more so today.

Cheney and Celine!

The Borowitz Report .com: "Elsewhere, as Canada's annual seal hunt got underway over the weekend, Vice President Dick Cheney reportedly shot the singer Celine Dion in the face. "

Is this ever gonna end?

8th Annual Summit on Racism takes place in Grand Rapids Friday: "Summit organizers say the need for more diversity training in our schools is not being ignored. Every Kent County school district is doing some kind of diversity education. That was a goal that came out of previous Summits on Racism.
Friday's Summit on Racism began at 8 a.m.at the Calvin College Fine Arts Center."
Yeah, yeah. Whitey needs more education and let's talk about reparations......

Can't reed or spel but dig that nifty movie, dude.

School officials in Comstock Park preview video about the dangers of casual sex: Monday night, officials are showing the public a video called Let's Get Real about Teen Sex and the Law, and the video has stirred up some controversy.
The video shows some candid testimony from high schoolers about illegal behavior and sexual activity."

National Support Our Troops Day

National Support Our Troops Day: " It's National Support Our Troops Day. Originally thought up by a Detroit-area teen, the idea was passed recently by Congress. She was inspired by a television news story about a soldier killed in Iraq."

Export Detroit to the rest of the state?

The High Price of Detroit's Welfare Mentality: "The same welfare state mentality was leading to an even bigger calamity in the public sector. Detroit, remember, was going to be the 'Model City' of Lyndon Johnson's Great Society, the shining example of what the 'fairness' of the welfare state can produce. Billions of dollars later, Detroit instead has become the model of everything that can go wrong when you hook people on the idea of something for nothing - a once-middle class city of nearly 2 million that is now a poverty-stricken city of less than 900,000

Check out the reverse graph. Up equals down in Detroit. Awful!

Thump City!

My Way - Sports News: "The smiles broke out on the Duke bench midway through the second half. And why not? This one was over by then.
Monique Currie scored 17 points to lead top-seeded Duke to a 86-61 win over Michigan State on Sunday night in the Bridgeport Regional semifinal.
Duke (29-3) advanced to a regional final for the sixth time and will play either third-seeded Georgia or second-seeded Connecticut on Tuesday night. "
End of a great run for the Spartettes! You go girls!
Spartan Hockey finished their season tonight also. Not a bad year for each group of young folks. Eh?

Reardon's Law

It seems like everytime I turn around folks are getting all worked up about things that are good for some, but not others. We desperately need legislation to level the playing field. The government needs to support an environment where things are good for others, but not some.Hank Reardon 03.18.06 - 8:03 pm #
Hank's got a pretty good point.

The future?

What will it take for the people to realize that the left wants to control everything in their lives?

Gas tax on miles, not gallons, tested:
Oregon is testing the idea of collecting highway funds through a tax on miles driven, rather than gasoline consumed.
Eighty percent of Oregon's highway money comes from its 24-cents-per-gallon gas tax. If the state promotes reducing gasoline consumption and consumers tend to buy the fuel-efficient vehicles, including hybrids, highway revenues would take a hit, The New York Times reported.
The test program uses a global positioning system to track miles driven, using a black box to calculate how many miles are clocked in-state, out of state and during rush hour.
The experiment is designed to increase state revenue for road maintenance without raising gasoline taxes, but critics say collecting GPS records poses new privacy issues.
'The existence of such a database, which would, for the first time in history, allow for the creation of detailed daily itineraries of every driver, raises obvious privacy concerns,' said David L. Sobel, general counsel at the Electronic Privacy Information Center, a civil liberties group in Washington."

Quickie divorce?

The Pioneer > Home: "A Muslim couple in Jalpaiguri district have been ordered by local religious leaders to separate as the husband allegedly uttered talaq three times in his sleep."

Bummer for Charlie Sheen.

... if Hitler would have fired Froggies instead of killing them....

My Way News: "French students mobilizing ahead of a national strike on Tuesday vowed on Sunday to hold a series of protests in the weeks ahead until the government withdraws a law making it easier to hire and fire young people.
'Without a withdrawal of the law, there can be no question of possible negotiations,' said Xavier Pascal, a student leader among hundreds of delegates who met in Aix-en-Provence in southeastern France to coordinate their actions."

Patriots win!

Sports News: "George Mason is no longer the cute little underdog. The Patriots, by golly, are going to the Final Four.
The suburban commuter school from Fairfax, Va., beat top-seeded Connecticut 86-84 in overtime Sunday in the Washington Regional final, ending the stranglehold that big-time programs have enjoyed for 27 years in college basketball's biggest showcase. "
Democrats depressed...

Do they really want this?

Breaking News: "While only two Democrats in the Senate have embraced Sen. Russ Feingold's call for censuring President Bush, the idea is increasing his standing among many Democratic voters as he ponders a bid for the party's presidential nomination in 2008"
There is a difference between GOPer and Demos. Don't forget!

Pacifist Canucks?

My Way News: "Canadian hunters started shooting and clubbing harp seal pups on Saturday at the start of an annual hunt that is the focus of a tech-savvy protest by animal rights groups."

Aren't these the same folks who wouldn't support the war against Saddam?
But they have no problem with baby seals. Big surprise. Cowards!
