Odd. Not on TV.

Detroit police arrest 32 students after shortage protest: "Detroit police have arrested 32 students in a protest over chronic shortages of books and supplies at a city high school.
About 200 of Mackenzie High School's 17-hundred students walked out of the school yesterday afternoon.
They marched along a nearby street, chanting in protest against a lack of textbooks."
These kids may be the only honest folks in the entire Detroit school system. No city wide protest, after all it's black on black here.

Fire the leaders!

Los Angeles Times: Failing their own: "I'M THINKING of a cabal of radical legislators who don't reflect the views of average Americans or even the interests of their own constituents. They use wedge issues, play the race card and push their party to the ideological extreme. They collude with outside activists, many of whom use religion as a Trojan horse for a radical political agenda. "
Only in the American black community does 40 years of proven failure guarantee an exemption from scrutiny.

Another reason to avoid the "City Center"?

City moves ahead with plans to have state designate Shoreline Drive as business route: "Shoreline Drive was officially completed with a formal dedication in October 2004. But one more crucial step still must be taken before the lakefront boulevard will be designated as the U.S. 31 Business Route through Muskegon's downtown. "

It is idiotic to reroute heavy trucks through that windey road with its non-synchronized stoplights. And you gotta love the berm that keeps drivers from viewing the shore from "Shoreline Drive".

I had to repost Hank's insight re: cute Harp Seals.

"The problem for our fur harvesting neighbors to the north and east is that these Harp Seals look soooo cute. They stink like hell and eat tons of innocent little fishes, but they're cute. If they could be genetically engineered to look like Karl Rove even PETA wouldn't have a problem clubbing them.Save the Naugas!Hank Reardon 03.29.06 - 9:05 am # " Hank's funny!

Same old story......

Three years and six murders later, Granholm decides to do something:

http://therealmichigan.com/index.php is on to this disgraceful story.

Imagine.....

.... if the fish had "images" of Allah and Mohammed in their scales...
Muslims flock to see 'miracle' fish: "HUNDREDS of Muslims are descending on a Liverpool house to witness what many are calling a miracle.
Two fish are causing huge excitement among the faithful, who say they are each inscribed with holy names.
Worshippers are convinced two Oscar fish bear the names of Allah and Mohammed in their scales."

Legal in South Dakota?

AtlantaGuy wonders. So do I. Isn't this abortion?
BREITBART.COM - Surgeons Remove Two Fetuses From Infant: "Surgeons operated on a 2-month-old Pakistani girl Tuesday to remove two fetuses that had grown inside her while she was still in her mother's womb, a doctor said. "

Mexican illegals vs. American voters

The Washington Times, America's Newspaper: "It was gut-wrenching (which in my case is a substantial event) to watch the senators prattle on in their idle ignorance concerning the manifold economic benefits that will accrue to the body politic if we can just cram a few million more uneducated illegals into the country".
All the more so if we let them vote as RINO McCain wants.

Imagine...

....if the French loved freedom as much as they love "free lunch"?

WSJ.com - Casseurs: "Cars were bashed, crushed, set on fire. Shops and restaurants were sacked. And they attacked the anti-Cpistes with equal fury. Hundreds were robbed and beaten, some seriously injured. But the media are still focusing on the youthful exuberance of a revolt led by starlets, ingnus, and semiliterate dudes. The mobilization is orgasmic. It's growing, it's growing, and nothing will stop it and certainly not that stick figure with the wavy white hair, Dominique de Villepin. Stubborn fool. How can he remain deaf to the pleas of tens of thousands of demonstrators? They have been mobilized for two months, they've closed down universities and lyces, the workers are with them, they will demonstrate now and forever, they are the word, they are the world.
They are, in fact, the same excited juveniles who demonstrated by the 80 thousands in March of 2003. Their rallying cry was No Blood for Oil. And their hero was...then-Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin, revered for his anti-war oratory at the United Nations. But G. W. Bush, deaf to the peace marchers on European boulevards, stubbornly pursued his illegal war in Iraq.
In March 2003 France chose apaisement. Is anyone wondering why the country is wracked with violent conflict today?"

Where do we get such men?

BLACKFIVE: Wounded Warrior? American Hero and Tough Guy: " I was badly wounded during a mortar attack in Iraq in October 2004. It is a traumatic brain injury. My left elbow also was busted. My left cheek has metal in it. It was tough to eat for awhile. It's hard to see.

But that stuff is irrelevant compared to the brain injury. A section of the left side of my brain is dead. I am learning to read and write again. It's tough."
It is an honor to share this country with such brave men and women.

Things ain't gonna get better for the Frogs

More Than a Million French Protest Law: "More than 1 million people poured into the streets across France and strikers disrupted air, rail and bus travel Tuesday - even shutting down the Eiffel Tower - in the largest nationwide protest over a youth labor law."
Their economic system is near collapse and no one, their leaders nor their citizens will face the truth.

"Truth? You can't handle the truth!"

Ask them why Washington and not Michigan!

High-tech companies to move into potato country: "QUINCY, Wash. - In the heart of potato country, a high-tech boom is taking place.Technology "
I'm not sure Jenny would like the answer.

Are you happy to see me or....

..... or is that a picnic in your pants?
Hernando: Man caught with groceries in pants: "Rodney A. Covington walked out of a Spring Hill supermarket Sunday night with a 12-inch pepperoni stick in his shorts, police said, and that got him arrested"

Pretty bad timing

U.S. suing Farhat over his father's unpaid taxes: "A Muskegon state representative and two of his siblings are being sued by the federal government for allegedly converting the proceeds of their father's two life-insurance policies to their own use, subverting tax liens placed on the payments.
David Farhat, R-Fruitport Township, is named in the federal lawsuit filed in Grand Rapids in which the IRS is seeking to reclaim $47,891 from the four for their parents' unpaid taxes in 1993 and 1994. The tax liability of $242,612 has grown to $589,000 with penalties. Also named are Dianna M. Farhat and Daniel R. Farhat. "

Bozo alert!

Principal lost donations in scam, cops say: "Police say the former principal of Otsego Baptist Academy scammed up to $80,000 in donations intended for the school, but he apparently was being scammed at the same time.
James Arthur Millward, arraigned Monday in an Allegan County District Court on two felonies, told detectives he sent thousands of dollars overseas as legal fees to try to get a $15 million inheritance in England. "
Someone investigate the School Board members, fast!

What were they thinking?

WSJ.com - Wages of Politics: "The list of policies that could help Michigan's troubled economy is long, including lower taxes and a reduction in health-care rules and litigation costs. But Michigan's Republican-run legislature has decided that the top priority is to raise the state minimum wage."

The increase that passed the state senate unanimously this month would raise the minimum over the next two years to $7.40 an hour -- one of the highest in the country, and well above the national minimum of $5.15. How this will help the state with the third-highest jobless rate (6.2%) outside of the Gulf Coast is a mystery. The libraries are full of studies showing how states lose jobs when they impose wage controls.
When will the GOPers realize that pandering to the leftist media and making deals with the democrats is a fast ride to unemployment..... both for us citizens and for elected GOPers.

Imagine if Tom Delay had a Molly Ivans doll....

SEAN PENN - PENN HAS TORTURE DOLL:
Hollywood activist SEAN PENN has a plastic doll of conservative US columnist ANN COULTER that he likes to abuse when angry. The Oscar-winner actor has hated Coulter ever since she blacklisted his director father LEO PENN in her book TREASON. And he takes out his frustrations with Coulter, who is a best-selling author, lawyer and television pundit, on the Barble-like doll. In an interview with The New Yorker magazine, Penn reveals, 'We violate her. There are cigarette burns in some funny places. '
Imagine Perkie Katie reporting that Delay had placed "cigarette burns in funny places" on a doll. My golly, Katie's head would turn purple!

Build more jails?

Thousands rally in Grand Rapids against immigration legislation: "Thousands of protesters waving American and Mexican flags marched through Grand Rapids' streets to protest federal immigration legislation. "
Making all illegals instant felons might sound good to some but our jails would fill up overnight and other countries would retaliate big time. Bad idea. Deport those we catch (no dragnets) and deport them immediately. Create a national database and imprison repeat offenders. And impose giant fines on companies that hire them.
The guest worker program isn't a bad idea but giving illegals special rights to become citizens is insane! We've got to treat all immigrants equally.

Gov. race even!

Election 2006 Poll: "The latest Rasmussen Reports poll in the race for governor of Michigan shows Democratic Governor Jennifer Granholm and Republican Dick DeVos tied, 44% to 44%. This confirms the tightening of the race first reported last month."
Funny, the MSM didn't report this last night or this AM.

KFC causes bird flu?

News: "Scared about getting bird flu? Then the only really safe way to protect yourself is to go vegetarian, an animal rights group said on Tuesday.
