For the collective bargaining proposal, Muskegon County opposed it, 42,017-32,459; Newaygo County opposed it, 14,462-6,458; and Oceana County opposed it, 7,687-3,516.
For the renewable energy standard, Muskegon County opposed it, 44,302-29,996; Newaygo County opposed it, 15,010-5,874; and Oceana County opposed it, 8,193-2,990.

Comment: The political obsession with homeownership starting in the mid-1990s raised the U.S. homeownership rate from below 64% in 1994 to an artificial level above 69% by 2004, but obviously failed to create a homeownership rate that was sustainable in the long run.
Government housing policies did increase the homeownership rate in the short-run, but in the process turned good renters into bad homeowners, created a housing bubble, waves of foreclosures, and a subsequent housing meltdown and financial crisis.

I'd actually go further than that. It's not just Eva Longoria who doesn't need a tax break -- it's her entire industry, which has enjoyed favorable tax treatment in all sorts of ways, at both the federal and state levels, for years.
And now, with the federal government and the states in parlous financial condition, it's time for those fat cats to shoulder more of the burden.
Why should burger flippers at Wendy's have to cover the national debt while Hollywood moguls enjoy yachts, swimming pools and private jets?

A woman attempting to vote in West Boca Raton this morning was initially prohibited from entering the polling place because she was wearing a tee shirt with the letters MIT.
BocaNewsNow.com has heard from multiple sources that an election supervisor at the polling place ultimately realized that MIT stands for “Massachusetts Institute of Technology” — a school where students tend to know how to spell — and was not a campaign shirt for the Republican candidate, who spells his name MITT.
Campaigning is not permitted within several yards of a polling place.
The woman was ultimately allowed to vote.

Romney has said he would be happy to sign a law making all abortion illegal in all circumstances, including cases of rape and incest and when the procedure is necessary to protect a mother’s health.
If that were to happen, Mexico and Canada (perhaps the UK, too) would become medical refugee destinations for those who can afford the air fare.
American women who travel abroad to abort can expect to be arrested for murder on their return.
Into the mind of liberals.....
