"The story of the video     ----    Video put together by Matt Harding & Melissa Nixon I believe for Stride chewing gum

Matt is a 37-year-old deadbeat from Westport, Connecticut who used to think that all he ever wanted to do in life was make and play videogames. He got lucky, landing a job as a game designer in Los Angeles at a young age, and figured he had everything pretty much figured out.
At 23, he moved to Brisbane, Australia, where it's a pretty typical thing for people to take off and travel the planet for a while before settling down. He thought that sounded amazing, and was also starting to realize that maybe videogames weren't the only thing that mattered. So in early 2003, he quit his job to go wandering around Southeast Asia until the money ran out. He made this site so he could keep his family and friends updated about where he was.
A few months into his trip, he and his friend, Brad Welch, were taking pictures on the streets of Hanoi when Brad said "Hey, why don't you stand over there and do your stupid dance. I'll record it." Matt did it, and he thought it looked pretty funny, so he kept on doing it everywhere he went.
That turned out to be a very good idea.
He put the video of his dancing adventures on his blog (back then people had things called "blogs"), and then in 2005 he found it on a new site called YouTube, where some kid had uploaded it, pretending to be him, and like a million people had already watched it. The kid was collecting donations and apparently got about $200 out of it. Good for him.
Matt briefly got micro-famous as "That guy who dances on the internet. No, not him. The other guy. No, not him either. I'll send you the link. It's funny."
In the midst of all that, Matt got an email from a chewing gum company called Stride. They asked if he'd be interested in making another dancing video for them. He asked if they'd pay for it. They said, "Yeah." He asked if he could go wherever he wanted. They said, "Pretty much." So he said, "Sure!"
That actually happened.
He made the video, and he got to bring his girlfriend, Melissa, with him to film it. It was awesome. And people liked it. The second video made Matt even more micro-famous, transitioning briefly into quasi-famous.
He mostly just danced in front of iconic landmarks, but along the way he went to a country called Rwanda, and since there aren't any landmarks in Rwanda that you'd want to dance in front of, instead he just went to a small village and danced with a bunch of kids. The kids joined him immediately and without hesitation. That ended up being the best thing that happened to him on the trip. The kids taught him that people are a whole lot more interesting than old landmarks and monuments.

Matt went back to Stride and told them he did it all wrong and they needed to send him around the planet again. They said, "Okay," and in 2008 he put out another video that showed thousands of people laughing, smiling, and goofing around together. It took him five years and three tries, but he finally got it right that time."

The Michigan connection---JFK's autopsy was botched, says famed metro Detroit pathologist who helped investigate

JFK's autopsy was botched, says famed metro Detroit pathologist who helped investigate | Detroit Free Press | freep.com:
"Spitz said he had some benefits over others who speculate and construe scenarios.
He saw the pictures of the president during the autopsy, and he talked with Dr. James Humes, one of the people who performed the autopsy and later worked at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit.

He said Humes cried when he talked about the mistakes that he made during the autopsy.
For example, Spitz said, Humes threw papers containing notes from the autopsy and Kennedy’s blood into a fireplace at his home.
The blood had been on his gloves and was transferred to the papers.

When asked how the Kennedy case ranks among all of the cases in his lengthy career, he had a simple answer.

“When people are on the autopsy table, they are all the same,” he said."

My gosh, how this is almost EXACTLY the same bluster, lies, threats and delay that Hitler so successfully used in the 1930s..........Iran's leader backs nuke talks, with conditions

My Way News - Iran's leader backs nuke talks, with conditions
GENEVA (AP) - Iran's supreme leader voiced support Wednesday for the negotiations over his country's nuclear program, but insisted there are limits to the concessions Iran will make in exchange for an easing of the sanctions choking its economy.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei also blasted Israel as being "the rabid dog" of the region, bent on besmirching Iran's reputation....
Khamenei, speaking before a paramilitary group in Tehran, aimed to placate hardliners and show his backing for the Iranian officials preparing to meet with international negotiators.
Vallaud-Belkacem told reporters in Paris that Hollande's Cabinet discussed Iran just hours before the nuclear talks were set to resume. Despite Hollande's displeasure over Khamenei's criticism of Israel, she said France still hopes for a deal and its position has not changed in the talks.
Western diplomats reported progress during a previous round of talks in Geneva. They now hope to reach an accord that would halt Iran's nuclear efforts while negotiators pursue a more comprehensive agreement that would ensure that Tehran's nuclear program is solely for civilian purposes. Iran would get some sanctions relief under such a first-step deal, without any easing of the most harsh measures - those crippling Iran's ability to sell oil, its main revenue maker.
Iran has suggested it could curb its highest-known level of uranium enrichment - at 20 percent - in a possible deal that could ease the U.S.-led economic sanctions.
But Iranian leaders have made clear that their country will not consider giving up its ability to make nuclear fuel - the centerpiece of the talks since the same process used to make reactor stock can be used to make weapons-grade material.
Khamenei said he would not "interfere in the details of the talks," - a clear nod of support for the government of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, which has opened historic exchanges with the U.S. However, Khamenei also said the main goal of the talks is the "stabilization of the rights of the Iranian nation, including nuclear rights."
"There are red lines. There are limits. These limits must be observed," the supreme leader told the Basij force, which is controlled by Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard. "We have told the authorities, and they are required to observe the limits and should not fear the blusters of the enemies and opponents."
Khamenei also blasted what he called the U.S. government's "warmongering" policies, including threats of military action, and he said sanctions cannot force unwanted concessions by Iran. At the same time, Khamenei said his country has "no animosity"' toward the American people and seeks "friendly" relations.
"Instead of using threats, go and repair your devastated economy so that your government is not shut down for 15 or 16 days," he said, referring to the recent U.S. government closure amid a congressional budget standoff. "Go and pay your debts."
His complex message reflected Iran's internal divisions over the nuclear talks and outreach to the United States, which broke ties with Iran after hostage-takers stormed the U.S. Embassy compound in Tehran in 1979 the wake of the Islamic Revolution.
President Barack Obama also faces opposition to a deal from Israel, Saudi Arabia and critics in the U.S. Congress, who say an first-step deal would give Iran too much in the way of sanctions relief for too little concessions. They also argue that Iran can't be trusted.
Obama and his national security team have countered that the risk is worth taking because the alternative is war no one wants.
On Wednesday, delegations arrived in Geneva for internal consultations ahead of a full round of talks between Iran and six nations: the U.S., Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany.

How Trayvon's Knockout Game Went Bad

Articles: How Trayvon's Knockout Game Went Bad:
"If no one else, WND, the New York Post, and now Fox News have started paying serious attention to an urban pastime known as "the knockout game" or occasionally as "polar bear hunting," a phenomenon that has caused at least seven deaths and countless serious injuries.
The "polar bear" refers to the invariably white or at least non-black victim of a hunt by a young black male, usually one of a pack of the same.
The hunters tend to prey on those who seem vulnerable.
This includes old people, women, children, and, most often, clueless male liberals-- like the Pittsburgh teacher seen in this video -- who have trained themselves not to "profile" young black men even when they approach with malice in their eyes.
...In sum, Martin saw Zimmerman not as the hulking vigilante the media did but as a vulnerable, possibly gay white man nearly half-a-foot smaller than he.
As for Martin, although the media chose not to let the public know, he was an aspiring mixed martial artist who had recently been disciplined both at home and at school for starting fights.
.....By the time of this incident, the knockout game was a well established phenomenon among young black males, especially troubled ones like Martin, the product of a broken home and a broken culture.
Martin's assault on Zimmerman fit an obvious pattern.

Hold on folks. They're still conjurin' ways to spend the moolah they don't have...yet---------Crisis in America: a crumbling infrastructure

vision_pic1Crisis in America: a crumbling infrastructure:
"Even though his health-care website is still in need of dire repair, President Obama was in the port of New Orleans earlier this month talking about repairing a much bigger problem: the nation's aging highways, bridges and ports.
Saying that 1 in 9 bridges are structurally deficient and more than 40 percent of major highways are congested, Obama repeated his call for major infrastructure investment, but it's unclear how or if that will happen.

Announced during his State of the Union speech in February, Obama's Fix-It-First program calls for $40 billion in spending on a backlog of urgent repairs and upgrades. That would follow $31 billion that went into infrastructure as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
But those sums are dwarfed by the $3.6 trillion in investment the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) says is needed by 2020."

Chrysler fights to stay on course | The Detroit News
But there is a growing sense among some analysts that Chrysler and Fiat may have overreached in their effort to create a globally competitive car company out of two troubled also-rans.

“..... But he believes that at least some of Chrysler’s recent issues are tied to trouble overseas.

When Fiat took over a bankrupt Chrysler in 2009, many analysts worried that the Auburn Hills automaker would drag down the resurgent Italian carmaker.
Instead, the European automobile market collapsed.
Sales in Italy fell to levels not seen since the early 1980s.

And Chrysler became a lifeline — the only source of profits on an otherwise dismal balance sheet.
But labor disputes and the market weakness back home have forced Fiat to re-evaluate some of the product plans it had for Chrysler.

-defensive medicine in response to a broken malpractice system;
-opaque pricing;
-quasi-monopolies/cartels;
-systemic disconnect of health from food, diet and fitness;
-fraud and paperwork consume at least 40% of all sickcare funds;
-fee-for-service in a cartel system;
-employers being responsible for healthcare,
-a fundamental absence of competition and transparency.

Please glance at these charts to see how the U.S. healthcare costs are double those of competing nations on a per capita basis.

“We are deeply, deeply concerned about this,” Fraser said. “We just can’t meet this need.”"

Don't forget. It wasn't only GM and Fiat/Chrysler that got your moolah--Ally Financial makes $5.9 billion payment to U.S. Treasury

Ally Financial makes $5.9 billion payment to U.S. Treasury | Crain's Detroit Business:

A tough, principled American! Palin kills Matt Lauer interview over Martin Bashir slur

Palin kills Matt Lauer interview over Martin Bashir slur | Fox News:
"It's no secret that Sarah Palin is mighty steamed at MSNBC and Martin Bashir over his despicable remarks about the abusive treatment he imagines for her.
And now she's doing something about it.
The former Alaska governor and Fox News contributor was scheduled to sit down with Matt Lauer for a Christmas season interview.
That's now toast.
Palin has now canceled Lauer's scheduled trip to Wasilla, a source close to her tells me.
It's not because Palin is upset with Lauer or the "Today" show, but as a protest against NBC for not taking action against Bashir.
In fact, Palin once sat in as a "Today"co-host. "

WATCH Kathleen Sebelius As Obamacare Website Crashes In Front Of Her: 'Uh Oh!'

WATCH Kathleen Sebelius As Obamacare Website Crashes In Front Of Her: 'Uh Oh!' | Independent Journal Review:
"The perpetually annoyed Health and Human Services overlord Secretary Kathleen Sebelius had an embarrassing moment in Florida yesterday as she was touring Miami.
She was meeting with Obamacare Navigators when the HealthCare.Gov website crashed right in front of her. This must happen a lot because she took it in stride, saying cheerfully, “Uh oh!” while her host said, “Oh, that happens every day!”
Yeah, that’s helpful.
Even worse, as the local news reports, all the time Kathleen was there, only two people signed up.
Two. (Here’s more of the video.)
What a completely embarrassing disaster."

UN climate talks fall apart as 132 countries storm out

UN climate talks fall apart as 132 countries storm out | The Daily Caller:
"Poor countries pulled out of the United Nations climate talks during a fight over transferring wealth from richer countries to fight global warming.

The G77 and China bloc led 132 poor countries in a walk out during talks about “loss and damage” compensation for the consequences of global warming that countries cannot adapt to, like Typhoon Haiyan. The countries that left claim to have the support of other coalitions of poor nations, including the Least Developed Countries, the Alliance of Small Island States and the Africa Group.

Poor countries have demanded that the developed world give them $100 billion annually by 2020 to prepare for the impacts of global warming, such as heat waves and droughts.
Brazil even put forward a proposal last week that would have made rich countries pay for historical greenhouse gas emissions."

They gonna fire fat school bus drivers too? Too fat to fly

The "Obamacare Shock" - One California Employer's Terrifying True Story | Zero Hedge

The "Obamacare Shock" - One California Employer's Terrifying True Story | Zero Hedge: "
"Our employees share of the premium goes from $7/week for the cheapest plan to $30/week.
95% of my employees were on that plan.
Remember, we used to pay 50% now we pay 91.5% and the premiums still go up that much!!
The  cheapest plan now has a deductible of $6350!
Before it was $150.
Employees making $9 to $10/hr, have to pay $30/wk and have a $6350 deductible!!!
What!!!!
They can't afford that to be sure.
Obamacare will kill their propensity to seek medical care.
More money for less care?
How does that help them? "

Boeing Sees Record Orders for Its Slick Folding-Wing Airliner

Boeing Sees Record Orders for Its Slick Folding-Wing Airliner | Autopia | Wired.com:
The graceful curve of the wing during cruise is part of its efficient design. But such a long wingspan poses problems at airports. Most of the largest commercial airports can handle wingspans of no more than 214 feet (65 meters as defined by the International Civil Aviation Organization), which has been a problem for the massive Airbus A380. Due to its massive 262-foot wingspan, Airbus’ biggest airliner can fly to just 30 airports worldwide, six of them in the United States.
Boeing wants to avoid that problem, so it employed folding wingtips. Just as Navy jets fold their wings to save room on aircraft carriers, the 777X will fold more than 10 feet on each wing tip before pulling up to the gate.
