CBS Anchorwoman: Synagogue Attack Took Place at "Contested Religious Site" | HonestReporting
To add to the many media gaffes that took place following Tuesday’s horrific terror attack comes this from the CBS This Morning news show. Introducing a report from Jerusalem, anchorwoman Nora O’Donnell says the following:
The two Palestinian attackers died in a shootout with police. It happened at a contested religious site in Jerusalem.
There is, of course, nothing “contested” about the Har Nof synagogue where the terror attack took place.
Nor is there anything “contested” about Har Nof itself, a Jewish neighborhood in the western side of Jerusalem.

UPDATE

CBS has removed the clip from its website, presumably in response to anger generated by our expose. Unfortunately for CBS, we archived the clip of Nora O’Donnell’s gaffe, which you can see here:

"American Spectator:  The Lois Lerner Curve: How Anti-corruption Laws Cause Even More Corruption:
Corrupt countries, where the rule of law is weak and political pilfering is common, are poor countries.
Entrepreneurs and investors cannot safely start or finance businesses in states that don’t respect property rights and honor contracts, or that use the levers of the government to go after political opponents.
And it’s not as though America doesn’t have a corruption problem.
On Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index, the U.S. comes in at number 19, behind most of the rest of the First World."

Poverty level under Obama breaks 50-year record

Poverty level under Obama breaks 50-year record - Washington Times:
"Fifty years after President Johnson started a $20 trillion taxpayer-funded war on poverty, the overall percentage of impoverished people in the U.S. has declined only slightly and the poor have lost ground under President Obama.
Aides said Mr. Obama doesn’t plan to commemorate the anniversary Wednesday of Johnson’s speech in 1964, which gave rise to Medicaid, Head Start and a broad range of other federal anti-poverty programs.
The president’s only public event Tuesday was a plea for Congress to approve extended benefits for the long-term unemployed, another reminder of the persistent economic troubles during Mr. Obama’s five years in office.
“What I think the American people are really looking for in 2014 is just a little bit of stability,” Mr. Obama said."

Junk Bond Guru Martin Fridson Predicts $1.6 Trillion In Defaults During Next Implosion

Junk Bond Guru Martin Fridson Predicts $1.6 Trillion In Defaults During Next Implosion | David Stockman's Contra Corner:
Fridson rules the world of speculative bonds. In his presentation, he showed how high-yield bonds are just as good an investment (if not better) than stocks – during normal times.
But times are not normal today… and Fridson is worried.
He sees “the next junk-bond implosion” arriving as early as 2016, and lasting through 2019.
In Fridson’s base case (not his pessimistic case), he sees $1.6 trillion dollars in total speculative bond defaults over the course of the next junk-bond implosion.

Ukraine Admits Its Gold Is Gone: "There Is Almost No Gold Left In The Central Bank Vault"

Ukraine Admits Its Gold Is Gone: "There Is Almost No Gold Left In The Central Bank Vault" | Zero Hedge:
"Back in March, at a time when the IMF reported that Ukraine's official gold holdings as of the end of February, so just as the State Department-facilitated coup against former president Victor Yanukovich was concluding, amounted to 42.3 tonnes or 8% of reserves...
... and notably under the previous "hated" president, Ukraine gold's reserves had constantly increased hitting a record high just before the presidential coup...

... we reported of a strange incident that took place just after the Ukraine presidential coup, namely that according to at least one source, "in a mysterious operation under the cover of night, Ukraine's gold reserves were promptly loaded onboard an unmarked plane, which subsequently took the gold to the US." To wit:
Tonight, around at 2:00 am, an unregistered transport plane took off took off from Boryspil airport. According to Boryspil staff, prior to the plane's appearance, four trucks and two cargo minibuses arrived at the airport all with their license plates missing. Fifteen people in black uniforms, masks and body armor stepped out, some armed with machine guns. These people loaded the plane with more than forty heavy boxes.

After this, several mysterious men arrived and also entered the plane. The loading was carried out in a hurry. After unloading, the plateless cars immediately left the runway, and the plane took off on an emergency basis.

Airport officials who saw this mysterious "special operation" immediately notified the administration of the airport, which however strongly advised them "not to meddle in other people's business."

Later, the editors were called by one of the senior officials of the former Ministry of Income and Fees, who reported that, according to him, tonight on the orders of one of the "new leaders" of Ukraine, all the gold reserves of the Ukraine were taken to the United States.

Mr. Wrong House - "Robber meets Paratrooper"

"The following is what takes place when a local creeper attempts a home invasion on a veteran of the 82nd Airborne. This guy was in my house earlier this week in the middle of the night on Veteran's Day. My neighbor saw him and when we checked the security cameras sure enough, there he was. He got away with it once, but since then I have installed some security improvements to alert me to movement in my fence line.

That night somehow my door was unlocked he actually made it inside -to shoot up I'm guessing- all night where it is warm I presume. Then, he left in the morning. In the area of my home he was in I keep some very expensive camera gear for my business. I had a feeling that now that this guy knew that stuff was down there that he would be back. I had a plan, that didn't work because I expected him to head back along the trail - instead he went around the other side of my house.

....Now I am thinking: "he just made his way around my house to attempt to gain entry upstairs (where my GF and dog are), WTF??". - Once I told him he wasn't coming in, and wasn't leaving till he talked to the police he struggled to get away and tried to pull off a huge haymaker on the porch. He ate an uppercut for his troubles,(off camera) and he was just about "out" on the porch already but I realized I wanted anything that happened to be on camera so I drug him down the stairs. The rest can be seen on camera...

I own several guns that I could have used. Everyone that owns a home should own a gun. However, discretion is the difference between a responsible gun owner and a criminal. To kill someone you should have moral AND legal standing. Waiting for someone to set foot inside your house to murder them is not OK in my opinion. I took some risk, to save this idiot's life rather than take it.

Kudos to the Seattle police as they were here right away and treated everyone involved with what seemed like "protection" and "service" - not a huge fan of cops but these guys were GREAT! The police report states: "assailant attempted an assault to break free. He lost."

"When asked what they would say to those who doubt climate change, the answers were unanimous: “Educate yourselves.”

Well, maybe these students should take their own advice and realize that science isn’t on their side. Over the years global warming has become a policy agenda spurred on by leftists and environmentalists, but the science just isn’t there."

LIBERTY REVIEW

LIBERTY REVIEW:

Little Red

By Tammy Derouin

Fairy tales have a purpose; at least they did before they were sanitized.  Little Red Riding Hood is probably my favorite example.  Little Red stared at extremely vital and crucial evidence, but chose to dismiss it. She knew something wasn’t right because she asked some very good questions.  How is it possible to stare into the eyes of the wolf and accept his ridiculous, but apparently convincing, answers?  Was she afraid to look at the past and all the events which led up to this fateful event?  Did she deny the fate of her grandmother?  Maybe, Little Red wanted to be grandmotherly correct and didn’t want to offend by pointing out some extremely obvious changes.

Jonah Goldberg on FNC: ‘Transmission Belt of Liberal Journalists’ Reaffirmed Gruber’s Mendacity

Jonah Goldberg on FNC: ‘Transmission Belt of Liberal Journalists’ Reaffirmed Gruber’s Mendacity:

"National Review’s Jonah Goldberg went on a tear on Monday’s Special Report with Bret Baier, connecting the circles of lies by the White House and Jonathan Gruber that had impact thanks to liberal journalists.

Goldberg charged that, in the lead up to the ObamaCare vote, Gruber was “being touted around through a transmission belt of liberal journalists, who all are all pretending to be objective analysts too, quoting each other, reaffirming each other, all with the help of the White House which went along with this soup to nuts – a process which this guy says was all about lies and misleading the American people.”

Amnesty for 5 million illegals-but 120 poor, international Christian college students here legally get the boot?

Amnesty for 5 million illegals-but 120 poor, international Christian college students here legally get the boot?
The Obama Administration is apparently set to grant amnesty to some five million illegal aliens, but meanwhile the feds are gearing up to boot 120 poor, Christian college students back to their homelands – students who are in this country legally.
This infuriating story comes by way of Todd Starnes of Fox News, whoreports that the Ohio-based Marietta Bible College, a small unaccredited school that provides Bible training mostly for impoverished international students, has had their recertification to allow foreign students to attend American schools denied by the feds.
The tale Starnes weaves is a he-said, she-said bureaucratic red-tape nightmare between the feds and school administrators. Campus officials said they’ve filed all the proper paperwork. The feds deny it.
But the bottom line is this: Why can we grant amnesty to 5 million people who flouted our laws, but not give a little leeway to 120 poor college students from Third World countries who actually went through the proper channels and are simply here studying the Bible?!
“The 34-year-old college may no longer accept international students and those who are currently enrolled in the Bible school must either transfer to another college by February or face deportation,” Starnes reports.
“They are a lovely bunch of kids who love the word of God and they love to pray,” the college’s president told Starnes. “And now the government wants … us to close.”

Tour Guides In Savannah Sue To End City’s Licensing Requirement

The Institute for Justice:
Savannah, Ga.—Tour guides are storytellers, and in America, you shouldn’t need a license to tell a story. But the city of Savannah disagrees, imposing a host of regulatory burdens on people who want to talk to paying tour groups.

That’s why, today, a coalition of current and would-be Savannah tour guides has joined forces with the Institute for Justice to file a federal lawsuit seeking to vindicate an important First Amendment principle: The government cannot require a license to tell a story.

For years, the city of Savannah has required tour guides to run a bureaucratic gauntlet of requirements to obtain a license before they can lead a tour. Guides are required to take a multiple-choice test on the city’s history, undergo a criminal background check and produce a certificate from a doctor verifying that they are sufficiently healthy to talk. In addition, Savannah makes the city’s tour guides pay a special speech tax based on the size of their audience.

Anyone who leads a tour without a license risks fines, jail time or even forced participation in a municipal “work gang.

VIDEO: Will Gruber Be Prosecuted for Orchestrating Fraud?

VIDEO: Will Gruber Be Prosecuted for Orchestrating Fraud?:

"On Monday, Fox News’ Judge Jeanine Pirro relates her experience behind the bench and notes that Gruber should be prosecuted for his willingness to defraud hundreds of millions of Americans.

Judge Jeanine notes: (Emphasis added)

So what do we do about an administration that lies to us? One that pays a man 400 thousand dollars to make the health care bill as convoluted as possible? To write the bill in a tortured way to make sure the congressional budget office doesn’t say the mandate was a tax?

Now it may be my background – but when someone lies and admits they perpetrated a fraud and picks a victim they think they can fool, which costs that victim money, they should be prosecuted for fraud."

Former abortion clinic director: ‘Our goal was three to five abortions per student’

Former abortion clinic director: ‘Our goal was three to five abortions per student’ - EAGnews.org
ROUND ROCK, Texas – Abortion clinics are businesses, just like muffler shops or fast food restaurants.
They need a steady parade of clients to survive, so they go out and create them in public schools.
That’s the conclusion Carol Everett came to after years of working as an abortion clinic manager in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Now a converted pro-life advocate, Everett is sharing this sickening reality with parents, lawmakers and anyone else who wants to listen, as often as she can.
Public school sexual education programs run by pro-choice groups “break down the natural modesty (of students), they separate them from their parents and their values … and they eventually give them low-dose birth control pills they know they’ll get pregnant on,” Everett told EAGnews.
“They don’t tell parents what they’re doing.”
....“We went to the schools as early as kindergarten,” Everett said of her years working in the industry.
During those sessions, sex ed instructors “are planting the seed (in student’s minds) that parents don’t know what they are talking about.”
In elementary schools, the sex ed curriculum utilizes several books – such as Robie H. Harris’ “It’s So Amazing,” “It’s Perfectly Normal,” and “It’s Not the Stork” – to acclimate students to the idea of sex, and to promote sexual behaviors.
“By fourth grade they encourage them to masturbate alone, or in groups of four or five of the same sex,” Everett said.
By fifth or sixth grade, the curriculum turns to “talking about having sex” and intentionally encourages a “parents don’t understand you” mentality.Everett said.

Colorado changes welfare rule, increasing benefits and costing taxpayers

Colorado changes welfare rule, increasing benefits and costing taxpayers « Watchdog.org
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families is six month less temporary in Colorado — and likely more expensive to taxpayers — after a state Department of Human Services rule change last year, a Watchdog.org investigation found.
The change has counties certifying a welfare recipients’ eligibility to receive benefits twice a year, records show.
Previously, the full recertification was annual but recipients would submit monthly status reports to ensure they qualified for benefits and received the correct amount.
The new rule dropped the monthly status checks and required modifications to benefits in the six month period only if the recipient was due more — not less — money, records show.
After the change went into effect July 2013, counties have seen an increase in the number of people collecting welfare, and the state set a 24-month expenditure record in June for Colorado Works, which is what the state calls its TANF program, state records show.

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A U.S. private equity firm announced Tuesday it has joined the family of late reggae star Bob Marley in hopes of building what it touts as the “world’s first global cannabis brand.”
Seattle-based Privateer Holdings announced Tuesday it has reached a licensing deal with Marley’s heirs to offer marijuana strains, including ones famed in Jamaica, where regulations permit by late 2015. It also plans to sell weed-infused lotions, creams and various accessories.
“My dad would be so happy to see people understanding the healing power of the herb,” Miami-based Cedella Marley said in a company statement.
She’s the eldest daughter of the music legend who died of cancer in 1981 and is Jamaica’s most iconic figure.
