These Boneyard B-52s Can Still Fly

The "Ghost Rider" B-52 Rises From The Grave To Ride AgainThese Boneyard B-52s Can Still Fly | RealClearDefense:
"The Air Force is working to get a B-52 bomber back into service after it sat collecting dust for seven years at the famous Boneyard at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona.
On Feb. 13, the B-52H—with the serial number 61–0007—left the desert for its new home with the 2nd Bomb Wing at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana.
This is the first time the Air Force has “regenerated” a plane from the Boneyard back to active duty.
Here’s another fascinating statistic.
The “61” in the refurbished bomber’s serial number is short for … 1961.
The bomber can—amazingly—still fly decades later, after some necessary maintenance work."

Unpatriotic voters elect unpatriotic leaders

Unpatriotic voters elect unpatriotic leaders: Column:
"...Since we can't keep an eye on everyone we deal with all of the time, we look for other traits, boiling down, essentially, to a conscience, that will ensure that they are more likely to act properly even when nobody's watching.
And if that's important in a spouse or employee, it's also pretty important in people, like political leaders, who do a lot of things out of the public eye, and who are subjected to a much greater variety of temptations.
Thus, we want our political leaders to be patriotic, in the hopes that, whatever they are involved in, they will put the interests of the country ahead of their personal interests.
Outward signs of patriotism are nice, but of course anyone can put a flag pin on a lapel, or place hand over heart during the Pledge of Allegiance.
Instead, just as we might trust a potential spouse or employee more if we knew that he or she had resisted temptation in the past, traditionally we look for signs that would-be leaders have sacrificed something for their patriotism, say by serving in the military, or otherwise putting themselves at risk for the country.
We also look at their associations, behavior and general demeanor to see if they look like people who would feel guilty if they did something bad for the country, and virtuous if they did something good.
So that's why people care about patriotism in a president.
Perhaps we need to pay closer attention to these questions where presidents are concerned, but perhaps we should go a step farther:
In a country like ours, where voters reign supreme, it seems as if concern about the patriotism of rulers ought to also apply to voters..."

VIDEO: Obama Seeks to Undermine Netanyahu’s Upcoming Visit:

"This snub comes ahead of Benjamin Netanyahu’s planned trip to Washington next week to address Congress and the annual policy conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the nation’s leading pro-Israeli lobby.  The rift has become so deep that Obama Administration officials are actively seeking ways to undermine the Israeli Prime Minister’s visit.

Obama will not be meeting with Netanyahu, and neither will Vice President Joe Biden or Secretary of State John Kerry, both of whom have sudden trips scheduled; Biden to Uruguay and Guatemala, and Kerry to an as yet undisclosed location.  Even Cabinet members are being dispatched out of the country ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit."

Stop the greedy and their lies!!!---NOAA AND NASA-GISS, ‘You Have Done Enough’

NOAA AND NASA-GISS, ‘You Have Done Enough’ | Somewhat Reasonable
The British “The Global Warming Policy Foundation” sends newsletters around the world to inform the public about news regarding global warming and attempts at mitigation.  Its February 9, 2015 newsletter The Biggest Science Scandal Ever refers to three recent publications about adjustments to global temperature data:
The first article is The Fiddling With Temperature Data Is The Biggest Science Scandal Ever”by Christopher Booker in The Sunday Telegraph, 8 February 2015.  Mr. Booker points out temperature data in the Arctic were adjusted to eliminate warming 75 years ago that caused greater ice melting than seen today.
The second article by Paul Homewood Temperature Adjustments Transform Arctic Climate History” Not A Lot Of People Know That, 4 February 2015 describes in detail temperature adjustments made to Arctic temperature stations by NASA-GISS.  Almost every temperature measuring station from Greenland in the west to the middle of Siberia in the east was altered to eliminate strong warming in the early 1940s followed by cooling.   This provided NASA-GISS with argumenta global warming takes place today from unprecedented Arctic ice melting.
The third article Globally Averaged Land Surface Temperatures, 1900-2014 (GHCN) Sea Level Info, 9 February 2015  by Dan Burton describes arguments by Dr. Kevin Cowtan that NOAA’s adjustments are correct are in fact wrong.  Examining Dr. Cowtan’s own data that he claimed inconsequential adjustments showed the warming from 1900 to 2014 was increased by 35 percent.

Here Comes the BIG SCARE

Here Comes the BIG SCARE | Right Michigan
Boy, the desperation is getting thick within the Ineptocracy that is Lansing, and D.C.
The Federal Highway Trust Fund, which accounts for nearly one-third of the state’s transportation budget, made about $1 billion available to Michigan in 2013. That’s 8 percent less than five years earlier and 15 percent less when adjusted for inflation, according to figures compiled by The Associated Press.
So, where the Hell were Senators Levin, and Stabenow? Why did they allow our state to flounder while their man Harry Reid, was in charge? $3 Trillion?
The funding that generally comes from federal gasoline and diesel taxes was up 20 percent over a decade but down 5 percent in inflation-adjusted dollars [happens when .FEDGOV prints money].
The AP analysis also shows that Michigan ranked seventh-lowest among states in per-capita federal transportation funding in 2013 and second-lowest in per-capita overall spending on highways, roads and bridges [why is that?]. Only Georgia spent less per capita.
The same problem that has left the Highway Trust Fund teetering with insolvency [snip] is vexing Michigan — people drive less and with more fuel-efficient vehicles while paying per-gallon gas taxes unchanged for two decades. For the last four years, Gov. Rick Snyder and lawmakers have had to divert money from the general fund [snip]
Call it what it is. The diversion or, *stolen* money is a replacement, and an additional tax mostly because a Granholm era boob running MDOT is unaccountable for infrastructure spending, and frivolous railroad schemes – more here – among other wasteful nomenclature frills. Seriously, MDOT has been a documented rogue agency since at least 2006, which oddly enough has ampleresources for making videos. Try doing that in the private sector and one would be out of business or, fired, and sued for criminal and/or civil damages.
to ensure the state receives its matching federal transportation money because traditional revenue sources — state fuel taxes and vehicle registration taxes — are lower or stagnant.
Registration taxes are drying up? Well, gee, go figure what happens when Lansing’s Republican Majority loots what isn’t theirs. Went after pensions when it wasn’t necessary? Instantly$10,000,000,000+ flew the coop. Broke the 2007, promise by raising the State Income Tax, which they applied to those pensions. Those two raids alone stole money from folks who have decided to put off vehicle purchases, especially, the retirees who got plundered by Snyder. Look, it ain’t the undischargable student loan debt-slave Millennials who have money. Hell, they can’t even figure out that when borrowing for higher education it effects tuition rates to rise (another cluster**** conversation for another time).

JFK Airport officials filter fecal matter in search for drugs

JFK Airport officials filter fecal matter in search for drugs - Washington Times
The federal government is looking for doctors to help monitor suspected smugglers’ bowel movements at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, in a solicitation that sounds like it could be something out of the Discovery Channel’s “Dirty Jobs” program.
In reality it’s all a very sanitary process and even includes a special high-tech toilet to recover the drugs or other contraband from the other waste passing from the suspected smuggler’s system.
But the details, described in a new solicitation for doctors to assist U.S. Customs and Border Protection, underscore the efforts smugglers will go to in trying to get their goods into the country, and the lengths the government will go to try to flush them out.
Doctors must be available round-the-clock in case CBP officers suspect they have a “swallower,” which is what internal drug smugglers are known as.
The doctors are charged with X-raying or otherwise examining suspects’ body cavities, and if drugs are found, the work order says “the detainee may be held for a monitored bowel movement (MBM) to wait the passage of the contraband material.”
“During the MBM, the detainee will remain in the medical facility under the care and monitoring of the contractor,” CBP said.

MYTH: More black men in prison than in college

MYTH: More black men in prison than in college
According to Ivory A. Toldson, a professor at Howard University and deputy director of the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities, the most commonly cited statistic about black men in the US is “there are more [of them] in jail than in college.”
But, as Toldson discovered, there’s a problem with it: It’s not true.
The oft-quoted myth comes from the Justice Policy Institute’s report “Cellblocks or Classrooms” which includes the key line: “Nearly a third more African-American men are incarcerated than in higher education.”
According to Toldson, the 2002 “Cell Blocks Versus Classroom” report that provided the basis of “more black men in prison than in college” was based on data that was was likely incomplete at the time, and has definitely become outdated since.
“I pulled the data from 2001 that the Justice Policy Institute used [for the “Cellblocks of Classrooms” report] and I noticed that at least 1,000 colleges weren’t reporting their head count of black males then,” he told NPR in 2013. “And I also noticed that a lot of colleges that didn’t report any numbers, when the Justice Policy Institute wrote their report, were historically black universities. They were big, state universities that I’m pretty sure had some black males present at the time.”
That’s right. The number of black men in college used in the report wasn’t actually the number of black men in college. It was the number of black men at schools that chose to report this data — a much smaller figure.
Plus, things have changed. Thanks to a variety of factors including the popularity of for-profit colleges, the raw numbers show that enrollment of black males in college increased from 693,044 in 2001 to 1,437,363 in 2013.

New cruise ship set to sail the Great Lakes this summer – Cottage Life:
"This summer, a new vessel will be sailing the Great Lakes waters.
A luxury cruise ship named the Saint Laurent will embark this July from Montreal to Chicago, hitting up several cottage country destinations along the way.
Saint Laurent cruise shipVisiting all five of the Great Lakes, the Saint Laurent cruise is an ideal trip for limnology experts, locks enthusiasts, and lovers of Canadian history.
Specially designed to sail the Great Lakes, the Saint Laurent’s smaller size means it can travel to smaller ports than many other luxury cruise ships.
For its maiden voyage, the ship will embark from Montreal and sail via the St. Lawrence Seaway and Lake Ontario through to the historical Welland Canal, which was first built in 1824.
After a viewing of Niagara Falls, the ship will then travel from Lake Erie to Lake Huron, with a stop in Windsor and Detroit. The ship then sails through Lake Huron up to the cottage country of Georgian Bay."

VIDEO: Obama’s ‘Islam Has Been Woven Into the Fabric of Our Country Since Its Founding’ is a Lie

VIDEO: Obama’s ‘Islam Has Been Woven Into the Fabric of Our Country Since Its Founding’ is a Lie:
"Obama has said over and over that “Islam has been woven into the fabric of our country since its founding,” Glenn Beck asked historian David Barton what the president meant.

“In all the reading I’ve done, thousands of books, there’s nothing there,” Barton said on Friday. “I mean, we know that Muslims were the folks who captured the slaves sent to America, largely out of Africa. … The Muslims did the slave hunting and the slave trading, et cetera. The first Muslims came to America as a result of the Muslims capturing them and sending them to the Dutch traders. beyond their heavy involvement in the slave trade, America was at war with the Barbary pirates shortly after the founding of the country, but those were the two biggest contributions.”

This is worth repeating.  If we don't know our history, Obama will be successful at changing it.
