"Medicare pays for designated costs related to both inpatient and outpatient mental health services. (This is pretty important to beneficiaries who have a mental health condition that needs to be treated.) An article posted on Local10.com tells how the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of a Florida psychiatric hospital made a crucial mental mistake by overseeing the submission of $67 million in fraudulent claims to Medicare.

The story states that the scam occurred over a nine-year period of time during which the COO was supervising employees in the company’s inpatient and outpatient facilities.
He admitted to being aware that his employees were submitting the bogus claims for treatments that were neither medically necessary nor provided.
Many of the patients, who were found by paying bribes and kickbacks to patient brokers, were often admitted for mental health treatment before they saw a doctor and regardless of whether they qualified for treatment. (Medicare paid $40 million of the $67 million in claims submitted.)..."

More than 16,900 federal employees took home in excess of $200,000 in base salary in 2014, according to a partial database of federal salary data.
The information, compiled by FedSmith.com using data from the Office of Personnel Management and other agencies, shows the annual compensation for every civilian federal worker, save those at the Defense Department. 
The number of workers earning more than $200,000 represented about 1.6 percent of employees on the list and is up from about 15,000 who cleared that salary in 2013.
It also makes up a slightly higher percentage of the employees on this list."

I am very afraid that our country – the Republic where Capitalism has reigned all these many years – is being lost to Socialism.  Statements such as those quoted above are easy to find, and they come from both our politicians in Washington DC and the average guy on the street.

In 1966, the German sociologist Helmut Schoeck wrote  Envy: A Theory of Social Behavior.  
He argued that envy is the root cause of socialism and compulsory wealth redistribution.

This is the attitude of the individual who doesn’t want to lift himself up but, instead, wants to pull everyone else down to his level.

The politician who calls for extortionate taxes on the rich or on corporations, even though he knows that the wealth of the rich is re-invested to provide jobs and tools to the less rich, is an example of the politics of envy.
The politician would rather that the economy have low growth or no growth rather than allow the rich person to retain most of the income that is produced by his capital."
