Setting The Record Straight: New Federal Regulations Will Cause Hot Water Heaters To Become More Expensive April 16

Setting The Record Straight: New Federal Regulations Will Cause Hot Water Heaters To Become More Expensive April 16:
More Federal regulations, making hard of the average family to afford, bigger much more expensive hot water heaters and you may even have to remodel to fit them in your home.
Was there anything really wrong with the old models?
Typical, no need to give consumers a choice, its so good the government will force you to buy it!
Light bulbs, health care and now water heaters!
...While new ones will provide savings on energy costs, consumers will have to pay much more in upfront costs.
...Effective April 16, a federal law requires all manufacturers to make most water heaters more efficient and that means a bigger tanks with more insulation – up to two inches wider and taller–which may require some remodeling if it’s in a tight space.
If it’s in cubby hall or underneath a counter top, that’s going to be a problem.
And there is another issue–the new and improved version could cost hundreds of dollars more, which has many rushing out to buy a “new” old model.
Manufactures can no longer produce them after April 16 and retailers say the remaining “old models” are going fast..."

‘Where Is Everyone?’: Greta Van Susteren Perplexed Why Media Isn’t Covering This Important Story | Video | TheBlaze.com:

“Let’s all go off-the-record for a minute,” Van Susteren said at the conclusion of her program. “Why is it just Montel Williams? Where is everyone? We have a U.S. Marine veteran Amir Hekmati being held by Iran in their worst prison known for torture and the only one I hear talking about it and showing outrage is Marine veteran Montel Williams.”

“It’s bad enough that we have a Marine veteran sitting in an Iranian prison and left behind, but now we are leaving Montel behind,” the Fox News host added. “We should all be standing by and with Montel, helping him. Where is everyone?”

The Shoddiest Media Coverage of Religious Liberty You’ll See Today

The Shoddiest Media Coverage of Religious Liberty You’ll See Today
The mainstream media coverage of Memories Pizza — and Indiana’s state Religious Freedom Restoration Act generally — has been abysmal.
But this segment from CNN manages to gather all the worst aspects of that coverage into just three fear mongering, condescending, religiously illiterate minutes.

A few thoughts:
First, there is something to be said for “getting the other side of the story,” but what CNN clearly has in mind is not presenting an objective (let alone sympathetic) account of those who value religious liberty protections, but an exposé of hypothetical Christian bigotry.
So — much like the media types who finally stumbled upon the O’Connors, turning them into national hate-totems — CNN goes questing for these nutty religious fanatics somewhere else, to press them on how they would handle a situation that is statistically unlikely ever to come to pass.
And in the interest of such responsible reporting, where does CNN go?
Jeff Davis County, Georgia.
Cute.
Second, having found a few small-town Baptist florists brave/foolish enough to appear on camera, host Gary Tuchman, CNN’s national correspondent, conducts the most condescending interviews in recent television history.
“You’re talking about the Bible, how important it is,” he says to Florist No. 1.
“I mean, the Bible talks an awful lot about love and loving your fellow man . . .”
When his interlocutor says that there is no contradiction between loving one’s fellow man and obeying the dictates of conscience, Tuchman, resident theological scholar, rebukes her: “You’re not loving them if you don’t want to serve them, right?”
Another theological scuffle breaks out with Florist No. 2: “You know, in the Ten Commandments it says you can’t commit adultery, that you need to honor your father and mother.
If someone didn’t honor their parents or commit adultery, would you serve them?”
But the parallel Tuchman is attempting to set up fails.
Being asked to cater a same-sex wedding is not the same as being asked to serve “an adulterer.” The actual parallel would be: “If someone asked you to provide flowers for a birthday party for his mistress, would you serve them?”
And it would be entirely theologically consistent for the florist to refuse
It’s unclear what the Fifth Commandment parallel would be — “If someone wanted you to bake a cake to celebrate your mother’s terminal cancer diagnosis…”, perhaps? — but is the point clear? Attempts by Tuchman (and many others) to make Christians look like hypocrites fail, with just a moment’s reflection.
Finally, there is the patently inaccurate reporting at the clip’s end: “At these flower shops, they are happy to do business with you, but not so much if you tell them you’re gay.”
That’s simply false, and it spreads the great falsehood of this entire media firestorm: that “being gay” is what proprietors are objecting to.
Buried at the end of the story about Memories Pizza, entirely ignored in the media coverage, is this: “The O’Connor family told ABC 57 news that if a gay couple or a couple belonging to another religion came in to the restaurant to eat, they would never deny them service.”
Of course not.
But conflating this scenario with participating in a same-sex wedding is a crucial act of intellectual dishonesty that the Left must perpetuate to object to what are, considered calmly, basic, common-sense protections of conscience.

Krauthammer Reveals What He Found to Be the ‘Most Astonishing Thing’ About Iran Framework Agreement | Video | TheBlaze.com:

“But the second, the most astonishing thing is that in return, they are not closing a single nuclear facility,” Krauthammer said. “Their entire nuclear infrastructure is intact.”

“The soundbite you showed of the president, and that was in December, no more than a year and a half ago, he talked about you don’t need the Fordow facility, they are keeping it, it’s not going to close,” he continued.

“So, they are going to have the entire infrastructure in place either for a breakout after the agreement expires or when they have enough sanctions relief and they want to cheat and to breakout on their own,” Krauthammer concluded."

New Study Is A ‘Death Blow’ To Global Warming Hysteria

New Study Is A ‘Death Blow’ To Global Warming Hysteria | The Daily Caller:
"...The Max Planck study suggests “that aerosol radiative forcing is less negative and more certain than is commonly believed.”
In layman’s terms, aerosols are offsetting less global warming than was previously thought.
And if aerosols aren’t causing as much cooling, it must mean carbon dioxide must be causing less warming than climate models predict.
“Going forward we should expect less warming from future greenhouse gas emissions than climate models are projecting,” write climate scientists Pat Michaels and Chip Knappenberger with the libertarian Cato Institute, adding that this study could be a “death blow” to global warming hysteria.
...Basically, the IPCC says aerosols deflect a lot of warming — the opposite of the Max Planck study’s finding.
...But incorporate the Max Planck study results and warming would only be as high as 1.8 degrees Celsius — less than half what the IPCC originally predicted.
Michaels and Knappenberger say Lewis’s findings basically eliminate “the possibility of catastrophic climate change—that is, climate change that proceeds at a rate that exceeds our ability to keep up...”

‘Capitulation,’ ‘Detached from Wretched Reality’: Negative Reaction to Iran Nuclear Deal Pours in From Israel | TheBlaze.com:

"Economy Minister Naftali Bennett said Iran was essentially getting an international stamp of approval for its secret nuclear activity and hinted Israel had not ruled out a military option to address the threat.

“The world’s most radical Islamic terror regime received today an official kosher stamp for its illicit nuclear program,” Bennett wrote on Facebook. “Today, it is important to stress: Deal or no deal, Israel will do what is needed to protect itself and its citizens.”

The United Nuts (UN) Gotta Go! - Eagle Rising:

"This is a country where women are executed for surviving a rape… because it’s always the woman’s own fault for getting raped! Come on ladies, where is the outcry?!

Women are discriminated against in personal status matters related to marriage, divorce, inheritance, and child custody. A woman requires her male guardian’s approval for marriage regardless of her age. An Iranian woman cannot pass on her nationality to her foreign-born spouse or their children. A woman may not obtain a passport or travel outside the country without her husband’s written permission."

JOURNALISM: Story About First Business to ‘Publicly Vow to Reject Gay Weddings’ Was Fabricated Out of Nothing.
"See, the attack on this poor small-town pizza place is what bothers me here.
I’m at best lukewarm on RFRAs at both the federal and state level, and I have increasingly been of the opinion that Scalia was right in Smith, but I understand why a lot of religious folks fear that otherwise the state will reach right into their churches and ceremonies.
And what’s really troubling here is the sheer meanness of the gay rights community, as shown in the aftermath to Proposition 8, the Brendan Eich affair, and now this.
I was in favor of gay marriage long before those Johnny-come-latelies Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
I may even have been in favor of gay marriage before Dick Cheney.
And nothing from the opponents of gay marriage has shaken my belief. The supporters, on the other hand. . . ."

Obama Plans ‘Executive Order’ for U.N. Climate Rules, GOP Warns Other Countries:

"The Obama administration released a plan for U.N. climate change on Tuesday, in which it seeks to solidify its pledge to a global climate agreement to be negotiated late this year in Paris.  The plan calls for cutting greenhouse gas emissions by close to 28 percent from 2005 levels within a decade, using a host of existing laws and executive actions targeting power plants, vehicles, oil and gas production and buildings.

Republicans insist the administration cannot proceed with the unilateral international action without Congressional approval."

Don’t be an April ‘Earth Month’ Fool

Don’t be an April ‘Earth Month’ Fool | Somewhat Reasonable:
"...But who decided that April was “Earth Month” or that April 22 is “Earth Day”?
Why are we expected to worship the planet that was here billions of years before we showed up and will likely be here long after we manage to destroy ourselves with cataclysmic wars.
And it is worship that is at the heart of these two events.
That alone should tell you how essentially pagan they are.
This Earth Month will celebrate its 45th anniversary, having begun in 1970 and, not surprisingly, its theme is “Our planet in peril.”
Our planet is not in peril.
It’s been around for 4.5 billion years and short of a rogue asteroid or our getting sucked into a black hole, the planet will be around several billions of years more.
The galaxy in which we live is relatively predictable and stable, so the notion that the Earth is in peril borders on idiocy.
Well, idiocy, if you think that it is in peril from us, the human species.
This is at the core of the environmental mindset.
It appears that merely using the Earth as a place to live is reason enough to hold us responsible for everything that naturally occurs to it.
Environmentalists do not like the human race and will not hesitate to tell you there are too many of us.
They do what they can to reduce the population through disease by, for example, banning DDT and any other chemicals that protect us from insect and rodent pests that are major vectors for the transmission of disease...."
