Iran Nuclear Deal-Germany making $$billions!

Iran Nuclear Deal | Germany | Business:
"Before the ink could barely dry on the Iran Deal, Germany’s Economy Minister Sigmar Garbiel flew to Tehran, making him the first leading Western figure to do so after the nuclear agreement was reached Vienna earlier this month.
Gabriel who is also Germany’s Vice-Chancellor met with Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani and other top Iranian leaders described the moods of the visit as “being with old friends.”
Germany’s leading newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung wrote [translation by me]:
Germans many not have been at the center of the talks, but as go-betweens for Iran, they were considerably important.
Amongst all parties working to bring about a negotiated deal, Germans enjoyed [Tehran’s] special trust.
Germany had tremendous economic interest in ending sanction on Iran and it is not making any secrets of it.
In June, just as the Iran deal was nearing its final phases, the Bavarian Chamber of Commerce (BIHK) noted in its newsletter[translation by me]:
The German media landscape agrees on one point: lucrative deals worth billions are waiting to be made in Iran. As soon as the sanction are lifted, the run on the markets begins...."

“Look, you have two inspectors general, and they are referring this to the Justice Department. Exodus from Puerto Rico could upend Florida vote in 2016 presidential race

Exodus from Puerto Rico could upend Florida vote in 2016 presidential race - The Washington Post
"KISSIMMEE, Florida — Puerto Rico’s economic crisis meant Jeffrey Rondon, 25, struggled to find even part-time work, so he recently joined the growing exodus from his Caribbean island to Florida. Now he holds a full-time restaurant job and something that could upend the 2016 presidential election — the right to vote in Florida, the biggest of all swing states.
“It’s important to vote and be heard — it’s a privilege,” said Rondon, who is one of thousands of Puerto Ricans who have moved to Florida in the past year.
As U.S. citizens, Puerto Ricans are relatively easy to register to vote, and they are attracting unprecedented attention because they could change the political calculus in a state that President Obama won by the thinnest of margins in 2012: 50 percent to 49.1 percent.
“It’s a potential game changer for the state,” said Mark Hugo Lopez, director of Hispanic Research at the Pew Research Center.
“It’s the biggest movement of people out of Puerto Rico since the great migration of the 1950s.”
Puerto Rican voters tend to lean Democratic, but a great number of the newcomers do not identify with any party, making them appealing targets for politicians and recruiters on both sides.
Like those living in other U.S. territories, people in Puerto Rico cannot vote for president in the U.S. general election..."

Watch: Cruz Catches Obama Official In False Claim, Forces Her To Admit He's 'Absolutely Right':

"When I asked you how many murderers were released yesterday, you don’t know. There is a reason the American people are upset. If President Obama had the courage of his convictions, he would come and look in the eyes of these men and women who have lost their sons, their daughters, their mothers, their sisters, their brothers and the administration would stop releasing murderers and rapists. It is within your power to follow federal law. And this administration refuses to do so and that is altogether unacceptable."

The association between intelligence and lifespan is mostly genetic

Int Jnl Epid:
The association between intelligence and lifespan is mostly genetic

Abstract

Background: Several studies in the new field of cognitive epidemiology have shown that higher intelligence predicts longer lifespan. This positive correlation might arise from socioeconomic status influencing both intelligence and health; intelligence leading to better health behaviours; and/or some shared genetic factors influencing both intelligence and health. Distinguishing among these hypotheses is crucial for medicine and public health, but can only be accomplished by studying a genetically informative sample...
Conclusions: The finding of common genetic effects between lifespan and intelligence has important implications for public health, and for those interested in the genetics of intelligence, lifespan or inequalities in health outcomes including lifespan.
Key Messages
  • It has been reported that brighter people live longer; we asked ‘why?'.
  • We found, using data from three studies, that the small association between being brighter and living longer was mostly genetic in origin.
  • This is a key finding in cognitive epidemiology; it is a further indication that intelligence is not just ‘school-smarts'.

Jeb Bush Snares a Democratic Moneyman on Hamptons Tour

Jeb Bush Snares a Democratic Moneyman on Hamptons Tour - Bloomberg Politics
"Behind a garden modeled on Monet's, Jeb Bush addressed a lawn-full of chief executives and hedge-fund managers at an East Hampton, New York, estate Saturday morning.
While the candidate is no stranger to courting wealthy donors, this time was different: about half the attendees were Democrats.
"This guy sells well," said Kenneth Lipper, the money manager and registered Democrat who hosted the event, after Bush left.
“I'm sure there's a lot of poor people that like him too. It so happens there's not a lot of poor people in the Hamptons.”
Andrew Sabin
Virtually the only one who left without writing a check, Lipper said, was a buck deer that wandered past the group assembled on the wooded grounds.
The wealthiest donors are playing an unprecedented role in the early stages of the 2016 race.
For the first time ever, most candidates are raising more money through super-PACs, which can accept donations of up to $1 million or more, than through the traditional campaign accounts that are capped at $2,700 per donor.

Two Burritos for Breakfast

Two Burritos for Breakfast - Reason.com:
"But it turns out that in the fight against obesity, labeling menus hasn't delivered on its promise. Despite the clamor for more information...
...wrote that a mandatory menu-labeling regulation imposed on Washington state's King County restaurants did not affect consumers' calorie consumption at all.
The authors "were surprised that we could not detect even the slightest hint of changes in purchasing behavior as a result of the legislation," they wrote.
And their study is not alone.
Such findings are at odds with a report by the White House Task Force on Obesity, which claimed that "when presented with calorie information (how many calories are contained in each menu item) and a calorie recommendation (how many calories men and women of varying activity levels should consume), people on average order meals with significantly fewer calories."
First lady and benevolent food tyrant Michelle Obama likes to cite that data point when pressing for greater restaurant regulation.
But as Julie Gunlock explained at National Review Online in 2011, that claim doesn't stand up to scrutiny.
"This study was conducted in one Subway sandwich shop on only 292 participants, the vast majority of whom were adult white males, 25 percent of whom admitted they were currently dieting," she wrote.
"This isn't exactly research upon which major policy decisions should be based."
And yet, in this administration, it was..."

Detention Ruling Leaves Sealing The Border The Last Option

Detention Ruling Leaves Sealing The Border The Last Option - Investors.com:
"Immigration: Border surgers have won another.
A federal judge has ruled that ICE can't hold illegals in federal detention centers, meaning they must be let out.
So it's down to this: Either open the borders or seal them up.
Judge Dolly M. Gee ruled that the Obama administration's detention centers for 3,500 mothers and children caught illegally crossing the border was a violation of a 1997 court settlement about the care and treatment of illegals.
Her ruling was immediately hailed as a major victory for the open borders lobby.
...If judges and left-wing lawyers can only be satisfied by big, taxpayer-paid luxury-spa vacations for illegals, such as one lavish facility planned in Texas last year, and ICE can only furnish more spartan facilities, then the real issue is whether illegals will be granted de facto amnesty or be stopped at the border before they get in.
Breitbart last summer reported that the big detention centers such as the renovated spa in Texas were really about no-bid contracts and the rewarding of political cronies for Democratic politicians.
The politicians, in turn, benefit from reciprocal campaign donations.
...Now that illegals will be free to move about the country, Republicans have but one option when it comes to illegal immigration:
Stop it before it starts.
If illegals who make it past the border guards can no longer be detained and must be set free, then the only way to check unrestricted illegal immigration is by strictly controlling the border.
Congress should act now to cinch up our border, before it's too late.
Our porous, unenforced border isn't a mere inconvenience.
It's a threat to our nation."

Sources: Disabled work program mired in fraud

Sources: Disabled work program mired in fraud - CNN.com:
"The nation's premier federal program that provides work for people who are severely disabled is mired in widespread corruption, financial fraud and violations of the law, numerous sources tell CNN.
And instead of helping the severely disabled find work, the taxpayer-funded agency is at times allowing jobs to be taken away from the disabled, the sources say.
AbilityOne, along with the nonprofit agency that manages its program for the severely disabled, SourceAmerica, are being investigated by authorities for illegal operations, financial fraud, mismanagement, operating in violation of the law, steering of contracts, and possibly obstruction of justice.
Several inside sources tell CNN the program is among the worst cases of its type they've ever seen in a federal agency.
...AbilityOne is run by a commission made up of presidential appointees.
While they must approve all contracts, sources tell CNN they are essentially a "rubber stamp," for the referrals sent to them by SourceAmerica, which essentially operates independently with contracts for the severely disabled.
So, one key allegation is that SourceAmerica, a nonprofit agency with virtually no oversight other than AbilityOne, largely decides how roughly $2.3 billion in U.S. taxpayer money is spent, according to numerous sources."

Feds Spend $222,172 Studying How Men Look at Women When They Drink

Feds Spend $222,172 Studying How Men Look at Women When They Drink | Washington Free Beacon:
"The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is spending over $200,000 to study how men drinking alcohol look at women.
In an effort to limit “male-initiated sexual aggression toward female acquaintances,” researchers at the University of Iowa will analyze the actual eye movements of young men when they are drunk and sober.
...The study began in May and has received $222,172 thus far.
The budget for the project will not expire until April 2016.
According to the grant, the project is in line with the “general NIH mission of reducing the burden of health problems in the population and to the specific [National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism] NIAAA mission of understanding and reducing the negative impact of alcohol use.”...

Coulter: Hillary 'Just Looks Like She's Lying'

Coulter: Hillary 'Just Looks Like She's Lying' - Breitbart:
"Ann Coulter, columnist and author of “Adios, America,” ripped into 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on Saturday’s “Justice with Judge Jeanine” on Fox News Channel, saying Clinton “just looks like she’s lying.”
Coulter compared Clinton destroying the emails and just offering up copies of emails to destroying the original Constitution and just handing over a photocopy of it because it potentially covers up all of the original information of the document.
“But you have to keep all the originals,” Coulter said.
“It would be like destroying the original copy of the Constitution and ‘Here’s a photocopy I made.’
There’s a reason you have to keep the original because there’s all kinds of forensic information on the server: when it was sent, what it was replying to, did you change the time stamp.
It’s not a huge felony.
It’s a three-year felony.
The second part of it, anyone guilty of it can’t hold public office.”
Coulter then later added, “She’s just such an opportunist and she does have that awful voice, but even when she’s saying something that she’s believed for years and years years, she just looks like she’s lying.
Have you noticed that?
She’s just not a good candidate for them.”"

Mexican and Central American Illegal Immigrants Sue Texas for Birth Certificates

Mexican and Central American Illegal Immigrants Sue Texas for Birth Certificates:
"Citizens of Mexico and several Central American nations have filed suit, claiming entitlement to birth certificates for their children born in the United States.
They allege that the Texas denies them the certificates because they do not possess the required identification.
...They allege in their petition filed in U.S. District Court in Austin that the birth certificates are being denied because of their immigration status.
They argue that, “Such refusal is de facto based upon the immigrant status of the Plaintiff parents.”
In the lawsuit, the parents do not refer to themselves as “immigrants,” or “illegal immigrants.”
They refer to themselves in their legal capacity “as next friend.”...
