Man Who Wrote 14th Amendment Explains Who It Included... This Is Going to Devastate Liberals

Man Who Wrote 14th Amendment Explains Who It Included... This Is Going to Devastate Liberals:

"This has led to the use of the term “anchor babies” to describe such persons, as the citizenship they are granted upon birth acts as an anchor to keep the family from being deported, despite their lack of legal status.

But that simply isn’t what was intended by the 14th Amendment, as proven by the words of the very man who authored the amendment in 1866, Michigan Sen. Jacob M. Howard.

Howard explained in writing exactly what the scope of the law was when he introduced it, making it quite clear that it was referring to granting citizenship to"

What "leaders" are teaching our children-----UC Irvine Student Government Leader: American Flag Represents Hate Speech

UC Irvine Student Government Leader: American Flag Represents Hate Speech - Breitbart:
"In an interview posted on FoxNews.com, political satirist Ami Horowitz interviewed UC Irvine student Matthew Guevara.
Guevara explained his resolution, which banned the American flag in some spaces on campus and declared it to represent “hate speech.”
“[The American flag] made people feel very uncomfortable and unsafe in that room,” Guevara said.
Guevara’s resolution passed by a 6-to-4 vote back in March.
In the interview, he explained what prompted him to promote such a resolution.
“It was creating a very hostile environment just because of this flag being in the room,” he continued. “It doesn’t make people feel welcome at all to where people wouldn’t go in the space anymore because it was on the wall.”
Horowitz proposed to Guevara that there was a “legitimate view” that the flag represents hate speech.
“Yeah, exactly,” Guevara replied. “It’s a tool to silence people.”
He went on to say he would have been as equally uncomfortable with the Nazi or ISIS flag hanging in the room as he was the American flag, adding that the United States is the most evil in the world.
Guevara went on to offer his thoughts on other issues, including racism in the United States and said blacks were still enslaved in this country."

PC eating its own-----After ‘Ready for Hillary’ image prompts anger, UMich deletes it off Facebook

After ‘Ready for Hillary’ image prompts anger, UMich deletes it off Facebook - The College Fix:
"Not everyone at the University of Michigan is ‘Ready for Hillary,’ apparently
After a University of Michigan Facebook post depicting a student with a “Ready for Hillary” sticker on her laptop prompted anger by commentators it was quickly deleted off the social media site.
The Wednesday post was part of a new #WolverinesofAnnArbor campaign, and it included a nonpolitical statement from the female student writing about her college experiences and the pros and cons of studying abroad in London over the summer.
“Ready for Hillary” is a popular slogan supporting the embattled Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
The prominently displayed bumper sticker apparently prompted comments accusing the post of being intentional product placement and a political endorsement.
It’s unclear what those comments said specifically, as no known screenshot of the post was taken before it was deleted.
But the university, after deleting the post, released a statement that cited “the tone of the comments displayed in response to today’s #WolverinesofAnnArbor post” as part of the reason for its erasure.
notreadyforHillary...Some scoffed at how the university handled the situation.
“It’s ironic that you’re reminding the audience of your community guidelines rather than following the rules that U-M is a public university with no connection to any political party,” one commenter posted on University of Michigan’s Facebook page.
“Follow the guidelines of a public university and do not post pictures with a ‘hidden’ political message.”
“It was most obviously the intent of the post to endorse Hillary Clinton,” another poster wrote.
“The photograph was taken in such a way that the sticker was the focus, not the student.”
Stated another: “Are we not allowed then to have differing views than the one shown in the picture of reference? Do you really support diversity? Or is it as long as it agrees with your views of diversity?...”

Ben Carson Surges to No. 2 Spot in Latest Polls

Ben Carson Surges to No. 2 Spot in Latest Polls:

"Ben Carson's surge to No. 2 in the polls, fatter donations and big campaign-trail crowds are being touted by supporters as proof the GOP presidential contender is a serious in-it-to-win-it threat to win the nomination.

"The press has never taken him seriously," former campaign manager and current super PAC fundraising coordinator Terry Giles tells The Hill.

"Even up until three days ago, they'd talk about everyone but him. Now they have no choice but to talk about him."

MPD officer confronted by crowd, punched, police say | News - Channel3000.com:
"...The officer stopped in the area of Prairie Road and Jacobs Way around 6:20 p.m. after spotting a large number of people in the street.
He said that as he approached he saw a woman punch a man in the face, and he could see that the woman had a can of pepper spray.

Police said the woman’s daughter was grabbing the officer while trying to free her mother.

“Right now and as it has been for quite some time, one of the biggest threats in the world is and remains Islamic terrorism,” Spike’s Tactical spokesperson Ben Thomas told WTSP-TV in a statement. “We wanted to make sure we built a weapon that would never be able to be used by Muslim terrorists to kill innocent people or advance their radical agenda.”

Read it all. They turn a great story into "white guilt"-----How the ubiquitous foam finger reveals the true nature of American entrepreneurship

How the ubiquitous foam finger reveals the true nature of American entrepreneurship:
"....As Designboom tells the tale, the wooden versions of the hand were a big hit.
Customized Foam Finger Hand (22") Branded With LogoThey sold out, earning the industrial arts club far more money than anyone had anticipated.
It dawned on Fauss that he had a product with near-universal appeal to football fans everywhere.
He quickly put together a bunch of plywood versions of the hand (they had a hole at the bottom where people could hold them) and got a friend to go with him to the 1978 Cotton Bowl game.
They hung out all night in the parking lot in a cold camper van, nearly setting it on fire when one of their pillows got too close to the portable heater, and the next morning Fauss talked a concessions manager into letting him sell the hands through the concession stand at a 60-40 split.
He sold out before the game started.
With those two successes under his belt, Fauss quit his job and converted the old building that used to house his father's sheet metal business into an ad-hoc factory..."

De-masculinization of America-----Vanderbilt Women's Center to Lecture Men on 'Healthy Masculinities'

Vanderbilt Women's Center to Lecture Men on 'Healthy Masculinities' | MRCTV
Vanderbilt University’s Women’s Center will be hosting a week-long event dedicated to lecturing men about what it means to have “healthy masculinity.”
The “Healthy Masculinities Week” is sponsored by Vanderbilt’s Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center, which claims to be devoted to “Celebrating Women” while “Empowering All.”
The mission of the Women’s Center is to affirm a “space for all members of the Vanderbilt community that acknowledges and actively resists sexism, racism, homophobia, and all forms of oppression while advocating for positive social change.”

The “core values” of the Women’s Center includes the idea that, “progress toward gender equality calls all of us to be champions for change” while simultaneously claiming to “celebrate the unique differences among all persons and work to build community in diversity.”
...The full title for Katz’s book is, “The Macho Paradox: Why Some Men Hurt Women and How All Men Can Help.”
It is unclear why the word “Women” was removed from Vanderbilt’s event listing.
According to a review for Katz’s book, “Katz explores those aspects of American culture that promote violence against women, focusing separate chapters on pornography, prostitution, and other sex-related businesses as well as sexual violence in the military, the music industry, and athletics.”
It also “offers advice on how men can ally with women to curb violence and change those aspects of the ‘boys will be boys’ attitude on male aggressiveness and masculinity that can lead to violence and abuse.”
...The advertisement for “Healthy Masculinities Week,” which was emailed to members of the student body, includes a portrayal man with a thought bubble, thinking, “Don’t cry,” “Have sex,” “Major in business,” “Play sports,” and “Man up.”
Allegedly, these are examples of unhealthy masculinity..."

Marine’s Unfiltered On-Air Remarks on Race: ‘It Hurts Me as a Black Man…to Tell the Truth About My Own People’ | Video | TheBlaze.com:

“If a black person goes to kill another black person, they’re going to deny it until the day they die,” Michael Whaley told Fox News’ Megyn Kelly. “They’re not going to admit the truth. And some people don’t like to admit the truth because they don’t like that. It hurts me, as a black man, to have to tell the truth about my own people, but I did it because I care about my people.”

“There’s too much killing that’s going on. And the Black Lives Matter movement only protests when a white officer kills a black person,” the former Marine added."

Bombastic fool-----The Iran Nuclear Deal Is Not the Start of 'Peace in Our Time'

The Iran Nuclear Deal Is Not the Start of 'Peace in Our Time':
Even eerier was the similarity of Kerry’s words to those of Neville Chamberlain in the British parliamentary debate on the Munich agreement in 1938.
Here is Kerry’s assertion about Israel, together with his concluding words:
The people of Israel will be safer with this deal, and the same is true for the people throughout the region. …
[H]istory may judge [the Iran agreement] a turning point, a moment when the builders of stability seized the initiative from the destroyers of hope, and when we were able to show, as have generations before us, that when we demand the best from ourselves and insist that others adhere to a similar high standard – when we do that, we have immense power to shape a safer and a more humane world.
That’s what this is about and that’s what I hope we will do in the days ahead.
In the debate on the Munich agreement, Chamberlain’s claims were actually more modest than Kerry’s.

Hacker Claims to Have Trove of Hillary Clinton’s Unreleased Private Emails That Would Kill Her Presidential Bid If They ‘Got Out’ | TheBlaze.com

Hacker Claims to Have Trove of Hillary Clinton’s Unreleased Private Emails That Would Kill Her Presidential Bid If They ‘Got Out’ | TheBlaze.com:

"The anonymous “computer specialist” claims to be in possession of 32,000 emails from Clinton’s private server that were retrieved because, according to the site’s source, “Hillary or someone from her camp erased the outbox containing her emails, but forgot to erase the emails that were in her sent box.”

Clinton’s attorneys recently admitted the former secretary of state had her hard drive wiped clean before turning it over to the FBI. Accordingly, the claim that she merely forgot to delete sent emails should be taken with a healthy dose of skepticism."

Democrat, Rahm proposes massive property tax hike for Chicago

Blog: Rahm proposes massive property tax hike for Chicago:
"In the beginning of a series of tax hikes that will drive up the cost of living for Chicago residents, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is proposing half a billion dollars in property tax hikes, along with another hundred million bucks in mandatory garbage collection fees – another tax hike, in effect.
Fran Spelman writes in the Chicago Sun-Times:
Mayor Rahm Emanuel is poised to raise property taxes by $500 million for police and fire pensions and school construction and impose a garbage-collection fee to generate $100 million more, City Hall sources said Wednesday.
The $500 million property tax increase will cost the owner of a home valued at $250,000 roughly $500 more each year.
The garbage fee — widely viewed as a back-door property-tax hike — will be a monthly assessment of roughly $11 to $12 per household.
I am not sure how many houses are available for $250k in the Windy City.
I do know that a decent house costs 2 or 3 times that, and that million dollar properties are not uncommon in the city’s nicer neighborhoods.
As they say on the TV pitches, “ But wait! There’s more.”
The mayor’s 2016 budget also will include..."

Clinton: Officials should 'uphold the law' | TheHill:
"Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton posted a message Thursday saying that government officials should "uphold the law – end of story."
The message from the former secretary of State came in response to news that a judge had found Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis in contempt of court for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
Davis, who is now in custody, has cited her religious objections.
Several Republican presidential candidates have similarly suggested this week that the Rowan County clerk, as a public official, should issue the marriage licenses..."

Straight to the unemployment lines-----Five of the most obscure college degrees in America

Five of the most obscure college degrees in America - The College Fix:

  • "Puppet Arts – University of Connecticut

The University of Connecticut’s Fine Art Department has offered undergraduate and graduate degrees in puppet arts with classes dating back to 1964.
Since the creation of the program, students have put on nearly 500 productions with puppets and the school said “each year [they] see an increase in the number of people wishing to be part of our program.”
Students must take foundational courses in drama, such as costuming, lighting and scenery.
Once they progress through those classes, they move onto “puppetry production,” and elective like “marionette construction.”
Students who wish to apply must do so through the standard application process and audition for the school of fine arts, which includes a three to five minute presentation of skills and a portfolio.
Many who have graduated have gone on to “perform and design for many theatres around the world,” according to the degree’s website.
“They appear in, build for and manage internationally recognized television programs… and films, write books, design toys, teach children, and direct prominent schools and museums.”"
