UNBELIEVABLE!!!-----Agency won’t give GOP internal docs on climate research

Agency won’t give GOP internal docs on climate research | TheHill:
"The federal government’s chief climate research agency is refusing to give House Republicans the detailed information they want on a controversial study on climate change.
Citing confidentiality concerns and the integrity of the scientific process, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said it won’t give Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas) the research documents he subpoenaed.
At the center of the controversy is a study that concluded there has not been a 15-year “pause” in global warming. Some NOAA scientists contributed to the report.
Skeptics of climate change, including Smith, have cited the pause to insist that increased greenhouse gas emissions, mostly from burning fossil fuels, are not heating up the globe...

THE SCIENCE IS SETTLED: Preschool Helps Kids. Sometimes. Briefly.

"THE SCIENCE IS SETTLED: Preschool Helps Kids. Sometimes. Briefly.
Everyone loves early-childhood education. It provides free day care, which helps working parents, who vote. Boosters say that it can also reduce inequality, help disadvantaged kids get ahead, and … who knows, probably cure shingles. What’s not to like?

I’m not against early-childhood education. If we had strong evidence that early-childhood education made a big difference in the lives of needy kids, I’d be for it. Even hard-bitten libertarians can acknowledge that children are a special case.

But I’d like better evidence. A lot of the advocacy ends up being based on small studies that showed big results, while larger and better-designed studies are more equivocal. In fact, two recent studies — one from Quebec, and one from Tennessee — suggest that the long-term results might actually be slightly negative.
The goal is a corps of unionized Democrat-voting daycare workers. Whether it helps kids is immaterial."

TOKYO — Beijing reacted angrily Tuesday to a decision by the U.S. Navy to sail a guided-missile destroyer within 12 miles of artificial islands under construction by China in the South China Sea.
The USS Lassen sailed within the presumed territorial limits around the new islands at Subi and Mischief reefs. Those reefs are among seven oceanic features in the disputed South China Sea where China is dredging sand and building major land-based facilities — including long runways and deep-water ports

New Planned Parenthood video: Doctor wants intact fetal heads for brain harvesting | Washington Examiner:

'vA new Planned Parenthood video, the 11th in a series of secretly-taped interviews, shows a Texas doctor wishing to conduct an abortion that produces intact fetal heads for brain harvesting.

"I haven't been able to do that yet," said the doctor, Amna Dermish of Planned Parenthood Austin. "This will give me something to strive for."
The video is the latest in the sting produced by the The Center for Medical Progress in the ongoing Planned Parenthood baby parts scandal that has led to the formation of a special investigative committee in Congress because the women's health group receives federal funding.

Iowans: Trump's attack on Carson's faith will fail

635692101833381920-RoastAndRide-KK-033Iowans: Trump's attack on Carson's faith will fail:
DES MOINES — Iowa Republicans say Donald Trump's sneak attack on Ben Carson's religion won't work.
"It will fail miserably," said Mike Demastus, a pastor at Fort Des Moines Church of Christ. "For Donald Trump, as a name-only Presbyterian, to be criticizing somebody else for their faith statements is laughable. This is a guy who can't even quote a Bible scripture to someone."
Several influential Christian conservative leaders in Iowa, even those who publicly back GOP candidates other than Carson, came to the defense of the Seventh-day Adventist Church on Monday.
Trump touched off the controversy when he said at a campaign rally in Florida on Saturday: "I love Iowa. And, look, I don't have to say it, I'm Presbyterian. ... Boy, that's down the middle of the road, folks, in all fairness. I mean, Seventh-day Adventist, I don't know about. I just don't know about."
Trump didn't name Carson, then he denied in an interview on ABC's This Week on Sunday that he was trying to plant seeds of doubt about his chief rival, who's now the front-runner in Iowa, polls show. But Republican caucusgoers say they got the message.

BREAKING: Texas Defies the Feds, Makes Massive Move to DESTROY Illegal "Sanctuary Cities"

BREAKING: Texas Defies the Feds, Makes Massive Move to DESTROY Illegal "Sanctuary Cities":

"Texas has been at the forefront of the court fight against the Obama administration’s attempts to make give illegal aliens citizenship by fiat, now the Lone Star State’s governor is cracking down on cities inside his borders that offer sanctuary to illegals.

In a letter to Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez reported by Breitbart, Texas Gov. Greg Abbot made it clear Texas isn’t putting up with the  kind of “sanctuary city” nonsense other states – notably California – have made the norm when it comes to coddling illegal aliens."

US To Add One Los Angeles Every Three Years If MASS IMMIGRATION CONTINUES

US To Add One Los Angeles Every Three Years If MASS IMMIGRATION CONTINUES - The Gateway Pundit:
"The Hayride reports:
According to a new report by the Senate Judiciary subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest, which is headed by Rep. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), the US essentially adds the equivalent of Los Angeles every three years or about over 10 million.
The report notes that the net difference of immigrants coming to the country totals 1.24 million people annually. Over the course of 2015 through 2017, though, that number is expected to rise to 3.85 million, which is nearly the population of the city of Los Angeles.
Likewise, between 2018-2020, the Census projects the country to add another 3.80 million immigrants and then in 2021-2023, more than 3.85 million immigrants are expected to enter the country.
To make the situation even more complicated, the report does not even include the children which are born to immigrants while they are here or the costs of those children.
Additionally, the US is about to surpass immigration records, adding 100 million immigrants over the next 50 years. That is the equivalent of approximately 25 Los Angeles’.
Just what this country needs, another Los Angeles."

The math question that has everyone puzzled because 5+5+5 is NOT 15

The math question that has everyone puzzled because 5+5+5 is NOT 15 | Daily Mail Online
Common Core gets a Fail for common sense: Angry parents baffled by third grade math question that claims 5+5+5=15 is NOT correct
The above two questions were marked wrong because children are taught to read multiplication questions as the first number, grouped in the amount of the second number. For example, 5x3 would be five groups of three
  • A math quiz has been circulating the internet, showing how one third-grader got the wrong answer for a seemingly easy question
  • The question was to use repeated addition to solve 5x3
  • The student wrote 5+5+5=15, but was marked incorrect
  • According to grading standards, the question should have been interpreted as five groups of 3, therefore 3+3+3+3+3=15
  • While many have criticized the grading practice as a result of Common Core, the Common Core does not regulate lesson plans

We should be ashamed!-----Michigan students score low on state's new M-STEP standardized exam

Michigan students score low on state's new M-STEP standardized exam | MLive.com
"DETROIT, MI -- Results of the state's new student assessment exam leave a lot to be desired, but that was the point.
The test is new, and the standards are high. (?????)
The result?
A series of low scores for Michigan students across all grade levels.
Among the results on the new M-STEP student assessment exam, which replaced the long-used MEAP exam, include:
• 12 percent of Michigan fourth-graders tested proficient in science.
• The highest proficiency rate was in 3rd grade language arts, at just 50 percent.
• In math, proficiency ranged from 28 percent among 11th graders to 49 in 3rd grade.
The Detroit News notes math scores dropped for most students..."

New Obamacare Appeal to Be Filed With the Supreme Court: ‘So Unconstitutional in So Many Ways’ | TheBlaze.com

New Obamacare Appeal to Be Filed With the Supreme Court: ‘So Unconstitutional in So Many Ways’ | TheBlaze.com:

"The new appeal, filed on behalf of small-business owner Matt Sissel, stems from the Constitution’s Origination Clause, which requires that the House be the first to pass a bill “for raising revenue.”

The foundation said the health overhaul is expected to generate roughly $500 billion in a dozen separate new taxes by 2019, clearly making it a bill to raise revenue. The appeal said the legislation made its debut in the Senate when then-Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., gutted an unrelated bill that already had passed the House and inserted language that became the Affordable Care Act. The original measure was designed to help veterans buy homes."

Graphic About What Islam "Offers" goes Instantly VIRAL (The Scary Truth):
x"To be clear: Islam offers oppression.
The people who carry out (or support) everything listed in the graphic above are the lowest scum on this planet.
Why Barack Obama refuses to condemn radical Islam for what it true is (while calling us Islamophobic) is beyond comprehension, but it shows how far he’s willing to go in order to put foreigners ahead of the American public.
After all, the leader of ISIS even called Islam the “religion of war.”
And to think, educators across the nation believe that children should be learning about Islam in schools."

Just Before Midnight, House Republicans Post This Major 144-Page Bill Online | TheBlaze.com

Just Before Midnight, House Republicans Post This Major 144-Page Bill Online | TheBlaze.com:

"Speaker John Boehner is making one final appeal to restive Republicans: Pass the hard-won agreement with President Barack Obama before Rep. Paul Ryan assumes the speaker’s job later this week. But he encountered immediate resistance when he laid out the plan Monday night. His plan is for members to vote on the deal Wednesday.

The budget pact, in concert with a must-pass increase in the federal borrowing limit, would solve the thorniest issues awaiting Ryan, who is set to be elected speaker on Thursday."

Seriously?!!!-----Added health care cost: DMC, other hospitals charge for parking

Added health care cost: DMC, other hospitals charge for parking - Crain's Detroit Business
Detroit Medical Center is now charging patients, families and visitors to park in its parking lot in downtown Detroit.
The $4 self-park and $6 valet fee began July 2014. Tenet Healthcare, the Dallas-based investor-owned chain that owns DMC, approved a statement from DMC about why the fees are now being charged:
"The cost of parking will allow the DMC to provide parking lots that are safe and easily accessible for our patients and visitors without compromising quality of care."

Historically, most hospitals in Southeast Michigan have offered free parking to patients and visitors. But over the past several years, some have added fees for parking or valet services.

Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit charges $2.50 to self-park and $4 for valet parking. There is free self-parking at Henry Ford West Bloomfield, Henry Ford Macomb and Henry Ford Wyandotte. Valet costs $3 to $4.

Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Center on the DMC campus charges $5 for valet parking and $3 to self-park.

St. Joseph Mercy Health System offers free parking at all its five hospitals with a variable fee for valet services. The University of Michigan Hospitals offers parking for $2 for the first four hours and no additional fee for those with validated ticket. Valet parking at UM is $5.

Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak also has free parking with $4 for valet.
