Easter lunch video-----Jesse Watters Asks New Yorkers Which Holiday Is This Sunday — a Stunning Number of Them Don’t Have a Clue

Jesse Watters Asks New Yorkers Which Holiday Is This Sunday — a Stunning Number of Them Don’t Have a Clue | Video | TheBlaze.com:
Fox News’ Jesse Watters took to the streets of New York City and asked random pedestrians what holiday is being celebrated Sunday and what it signifies — but a startling number of people appeared to have no clue.
Memorial Day?

Passover?
Father’s Day?
All of these were answers given by individuals trying to guess which holiday is on Sunday. And even some who answered correctly didn’t know what Easter is about.
One woman said Easter is to celebrate when Jesus Christ was born.
Another said she’s “honestly not really sure.”
And yet another responded with “the beginning of a new mom opening the womb.”
After Watters informed each of them that this weekend is Easter and that Easter is when Christians celebrate Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead, Watters asked participants where Jesus’ crucifixion occurred, to which one woman guessed, “Rome?”
Others did correctly answer, “Jerusalem,” however,
Bill O’Reilly noted at the conclusion of the segment that only about “50 percent” of people knew anything about this weekend or what it signifies, adding that while the video is “funny,” it’s also “sad.”

Votes bought?-----Could Michigan senator serve from jail, collect taxpayer-funded salary?

Could Michigan senator serve from jail, collect taxpayer-funded salary? | MLive.com:
"LANSING, MI -- A senator involved in a shooting incident last year may be able to serve jail time without resigning or giving up his taxpayer-funded salary under a plea deal approved by a Wayne County judge earlier this month.
The Senate has the power to expel a member but has not made any move to do so in regards to Virgil Smith, a Detroit Democrat.
Senate Majority Leader Arlan Meekhof, R-West Olive, met with Smith last week and said the legal process had not yet played out.
Asked about the possibility of Smith continuing to serve and continuing to collect a taxpayer-funded salary from jail, Meekhof said "that would be a concern."
...He reached a plea deal with the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office to plead guilty to a felony, serve 10 months in jail and resign.
But Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Lawrence Talon threw that last portion of the agreement out, saying he didn't have the power to enforce the resignation provision.
...Smith has voted with Republican leadership on many routine and key votes since the May 2015 incident.

Violent Leftwing Students, Violent Trump Staffers: Both Bad

Violent Leftwing Students, Violent Trump Staffers: Both Bad - Hit & Run : Reason.com:
"Liberal student activists at the University of California at Berkeley recently disrupted a public event featuring Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, eventually storming the stage and assaulting a speaker, entrepreneur Marc Benioff.
It was a depressing, despicable turn of events.
As I argue in a recent column for The Daily Beast, activists on both the right and the left seem increasingly prone to censorship, and even violence:
In an election season when U.S. political discourse has been profoundly damaged by an increasing contempt for free speech—both among the liberal hecklers who disrupt Donald Trump events, and among Trump’s own supporters and campaign staffers, who respond with violence—it’s more important than ever for universities to serve as bastions of tolerance and free expression. But if the episode at Berkeley is any evidence, universities have become breeding grounds for the illiberal values now permeating American society. …
Politically engaged people of all stripes are turning their back on the most important right in American society: the right to speak without fear of violent repression. It is a terrible tragedy that we evidently cannot trust our public universities to serve as moral compasses leading us back toward civility.

Obama: Forget The Difference Between Capitalism And Communism, "Just Decide What Works"

Obama: Forget The Difference Between Capitalism And Communism, "Just Decide What Works" | Video | RealClearPolitics:
"So often in the past there has been a division between left and right, between capitalists and communists or socialists, and especially in the Americas, that’s been a big debate," Obama said during a visit to Argentina Thursday.
"Oh, you know, you're a capitalist Yankee dog, and oh, you know, you're some crazy communist that's going to take away everybody's property."
"Those are interesting intellectual arguments, but I think for your generation, you should be practical and just choose from what works.
You don’t have to worry about whether it really fits into socialist theory or capitalist theory.
You should just decide what works," he added..."

Once her daughter lost sight of Roberta, she immediately called 911 and mentioned that her mother also has dementia.

A group of officers were able to track Roberta down, but knowing she has dementia, the cops pretended they were out for a walk, too."

Classical Liberalism vs Progressivism BRILLIANTLY Explained

Classical Liberalism vs Progressivism BRILLIANTLY Explained | The Federalist Papers:
Liberalism Resized"Following the Brussels terrorist attacks, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair said the West’s real enemy is “flabby liberalism.”
Many liberals in politics are “unwilling to take people on” out of fear of being considered “intolerant” or “insensitive.”
He urged the political establishment in all Western countries to defeat the terrorist violence by attacking extremist thinking at the source: schools, mosques and the wider society, the Daily Mail is reporting.
“We’re in a situation where we have to fight back,” he said.
“The center has become flabby and unwilling to take people on.
We concede far too much.
There’s this idea that you’re part of an elite if you think in terms of respectful tolerance towards other people.
It’s ridiculous.”
He added that too often moderate voices are defensive about arguing their case, fueling a culture of extremism in religion and politics..."

Holding Back Social Promotion: Florida’s Example Promises Stronger Readers

Holding Back Social Promotion: Florida’s Example Promises Stronger Readers [Michigan Capitol Confidential]:
"Whether or not a student can read in the early grades is a clear indicator of future success.
Schools should not keep sending kids onto the next grade if they lack basic reading skills.
This “social promotion” often does more harm than good.
...The critical importance of becoming proficient by the end of third grade is well understood. According to research by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, missing that benchmark increases the chances a student will fail to graduate on time — fourfold.
...One thing Florida does is prohibit third-graders who score in the lowest level on the state reading test from automatically advancing to the next grade.
Struggling readers get several opportunities to pass the test and are provided alternative ways of showing that they meet the basic reading standard.
Specific exemptions are allowed for students with disabilities, newer English Language Learners, and those who have already been held back twice.
...Results from the National Assessment of Educational Progress bring the challenge closer to home.
Over the past 12 years, Michigan’s fourth-grade reading scores have slipped below the national average, while Florida’s scores have soared and plateaued.
...Third-grade retention is not a magical cure-all that will make all kids competent lifetime readers. But Florida’s example shows that far more Michigan students stand to benefit if we put aside warm feelings about social promotion."

Rudy Giuliani Comes Out Swinging: See What He Had to Say About Clinton and Her ‘Role’ in the Islamic State | Video | TheBlaze.com:

"O’Reilly offered a slight defense of Clinton, telling Giuliani that, as secretary of state, there was little she could have done to sway the ideology of President Barack Obama.

But the former NYC mayor pushed back, saying Clinton should have resigned her post then because “that’s what a patriot does.”

Giuliani pulled no punches against Obama either, condemning the commander-in-chief for failing to return from Cuba to the White House after getting word of the deadly attacks in Brussels Tuesday.

“What he did yesterday embarrassed me as an American,” Giuliani said of Obama."

How many Muslims will it take to change America?

How many Muslims will it take to change America? « Refugee Resettlement Watch
How many did it take to change Belgium?
A recent poll confirms that a large percentage of American Muslims here now would like to live under Shariah law.
Before I get to the article.  Think about it. Belgium did nothing that should have been seen as provoking the ire of Islam. They aren’t flying jets over the Middle East and Africa.  In fact all they have done for the last two decades is to warmly WELCOME migrants to live among them, and bend over backwards to meet Muslim demands for accommodation of Islam (Shariah).
And, what do they get for the naivete —-they get murdered in the name of Allah.
Here is the news from American Thinker (hat tip: Sodiumpen):
The poll’s results show that at least 37% – and possibly as high as 45% – of American Muslims believe that their religion should be either the main source or a contributing source of American law.
The results are in general agreement with a poll released by the Center for Security Policy in June 2015 that showed 51% of American Muslims agreeing that “Muslims in America should have the choice of being governed according to shariah.”
For context, there are currently 3.3 million Muslims in the United States. If current population trends continue, the United States could be a Muslim-majority nation by mid-century. [BTW, CAIR claims there are 10 million Muslims in America.—ed]
It doesn’t take a Muslim majority to clamor for Shariah law, it only takes a population of just 3, 4, 5% in most cases we’ve followed around the world.
You know what I don’t get, how do those pushing for more and more Muslim migration to America think that somehow we will escape Belgium’s fate some day?  It is just a matter of numbers and percentages.

Glenn Beck Makes the Case That Obama Is More ‘Passionate’ About Defeating the GOP Than the Islamic State | TheBlaze.com

Glenn Beck Makes the Case That Obama Is More ‘Passionate’ About Defeating the GOP Than the Islamic State | TheBlaze.com:

"Glenn Beck took to radio Thursday morning to make the case that President Barack Obama is more “passionate” about defeating his Republican “enemies” than dealing with the Islamic State.

Beck’s criticism came after many called out the president for failing to return to the White House from his trips to Cuba and Argentina in order to focus solely on Tuesday’s deadly terrorist attacks in Brussels. Instead, Obama attended a baseball game in Cuba with President Raúl Castro and danced the tango at a state dinner in Argentina.

During his radio broadcast, Beck played audio from the commander in chief’s response to the attacks in the Belgian capital and his strategy to defeat the Islamic State."
