Gun Shop Owner Stands to Challenge Obama on Second Amendment — Listen Closely to the President’s Response | Video | TheBlaze.com:

"President Barack Obama did his best to convince a gun owner that it is possible to enact “common sense” firearms laws without infringing on Americans’ Second Amendment rights. His remarks came during a PBS-hosted town hall meeting in Elkhart, Indiana, on Wednesday.

Following the “NewsHour” broadcast, Obama took a “few bonus questions” from the audience. Gun shop owner Doug Rhude challenged the president’s stance on the Second Amendment."

Green Energy Doesn’t Work Without Energy Storage That Doesn’t Exist Yet

Green Energy Doesn’t Work Without Energy Storage That Doesn’t Exist Yet:
"Scientists from the University of East Anglia found wind and solar power can’t compete with conventional electricity without economical energy storage systems that don’t exist.
The research published Friday concludes without economical energy storage systems, wind and solar power simply aren’t that useful due to their unreliability and intermittent nature.
The study argues the money used to financially support wind and solar power should be spent supporting research into bringing down the costs of energy storage.
“We need sufficient storage and more investment in storage systems in order for renewable energy to reach its full potential,” said Dr. Konstantinos Chalvatzis, co-author of the paper, in an press statement emailed to The Daily Caller News Foundation..."

EXCLUSIVE: Hillary Clinton Posted Names of Hidden Intelligence Officials On Her Email

EXCLUSIVE: Hillary Clinton Posted Names of Hidden Intelligence Officials On Her Email - Breitbart:
"Hillary Clinton posted and shared the names of concealed U.S. intelligence officials on her unprotected email system.
Federal records reveal that Clinton swapped these highly classified names on an email account that was vulnerable to attack and was breached repeatedly by Russia-linked hacker attempts.
These new revelations — reminiscent of the Valerie Plame scandal during George W. Bush’s tenure — could give FBI investigators the evidence they need to make a case that Clinton violated the Espionage Act by mishandling national defense information through “gross negligence.”
Numerous names cited in Clinton’s emails have been redacted in State Department email releases with the classification code “B3 CIA PERS/ORG,” a highly specialized classification that means the information, if released, would violate the Central Intelligence Act of 1949..."

Retiree Obligations, Lack of Cash Hampers Michigan's Fiscal Condition

Retiree Obligations, Lack of Cash Hampers Michigan's Fiscal Condition [Michigan Capitol Confidential]:
"Retiree obligations and cash solvency for short-term expenses are hampering Michigan's fiscal condition, according to a new report.
The Mercatus Center at George Mason University recently published its “Ranking the States by Fiscal Condition” report.
According to the report's fiscal guidelines, Michigan ranks 35th, down one spot from the previous year.
...In this year's ranking, Michigan declined in terms of budget solvency because the state budget increased faster than revenue projections.
Michigan advanced in three categories during the fiscal year:
Long-run solvency moved up one spot from 25th to 24th; service-level solvency advanced three spots from 33rd to 30th; and trust-fund solvency progressed three spots from 35th to 32nd.
The state remained at 34th for cash solvency.
The state falls short of the national average in all five major categories.
Most notably, Norcross and Olivia Gonzalez peg Michigan’s unfunded pension liabilities at $123 billion, 42 percent above the national average.
These unfunded liabilities, combined with other post-employment benefit plans and state debt, result in future expenses equal to about 38 percent of total state personal income..."

Hillary University: Bill Clinton Bagged $16.46 Million from For-Profit College as State Dept. Funneled $55 Million Back

Hillary University: Bill Clinton Bagged $16.46 Million from For-Profit College as State Dept. Funneled $55 Million Back - Breitbart:
Laureate-Education-Bill-Hillary-Clinton-APWith her campaign sinking in the polls, Hillary Clinton has launched a desperate attack against Trump University to deflect attention away from her deep involvement with a controversial for-profit college that made the Clintons millions, even as the school faced serious legal scrutiny and criminal investigations.
In April 2015, Bill Clinton was forced to abruptly resign from his lucrative perch as honorary chancellor of Laureate Education, a for-profit college company.
The reason for Clinton’s immediate departure: Clinton Cash revealed, and Bloomberg confirmed, that Laureate funneled Bill Clinton $16.46 million over five years while Hillary Clinton’s State Dept. pumped at least $55 million to a group run by Laureate’s founder and chairman, Douglas Becker, a man with strong ties to the Clinton Global Initiative.
Laureate has donated between $1 million and $5 million (donations are reported in ranges, not exact amounts) to the Clinton Foundation
Progressive billionaire George Soros is also a Laureate financial backer..."

Liberals Want To Ban The Most Iconic 9/11 Picture From Museum:

"September 11th was a tragic day for our country, but it was also a monumental day. It devastated Americans, but also brought us closer together, and served as a reminder of what is really important. Now, it turns out that one museum is trying to erase the event together by banning one of the most iconic pictures the day."

Minimum Wage vs. the Carwasheros

Minimum Wage vs. the Carwasheros - Reason.com
Labor activists have long claimed that working conditions at New York City's car washes are the worst of the worst.
...Now that labor groups have succeeded in dramatically raising labor costs, the city's car washes will simply play catch-up with the rest of the country—replacing men wielding hoses and rags with nimble units of spinning brushes and massive hot air blowers. It's already starting to happen.
...Operators with the means to make a significant capital investment could eliminate most of their workers. Mike's Minit Man (renamed Mike's Car Wash) was one of the first in the country to go fully automated in 1978.
Founder Joe Dahm invested in state-of-the-art machinery, including powerful hot air blowers that replaced the crew charged with drying off vehicles as they exited the tunnel.
The cost of a basic exterior wash at Mike's fell to just $2, but the increase in speed and volume led to a significant revenue boost.
"We think those blowers set us up for success," says Mike Dahm, now the company's president.
The Free-Vacuum Revolution
...Enning's answer to the interior problem was straightforward:
Set up an area with free vacuums and put customers to work cleaning their own vehicles.
The idea would later catch on in the U.S. thanks to Benny Alford, a second-generation car wash operator in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who traveled to Germany in 1996 to observe a Mr. Wash facility. "You just couldn't find many people who wanted to make a career out of vacuuming cars anymore," says Justin Alford, Benny's son and business partner.
Benny Alford combined the free vacuum idea with another labor-minimizing technology:
Working with a firm called Innovative Control Systems, he installed the first automated sales attendant, so that customers could line up at an electronic gate and pay for a wash without ever interacting with a human.
Alford opened his first exterior-only car wash tunnel with free vacuums in August 2001.
The setup required only two employees on-site to make sure everything was running smoothly..."

Flashback To All The People Who Praised Chavez’s Socialism

Flashback To All The People Who Praised Chavez’s Socialism :
"Dead Socialist Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez was praised throughout his life by many figures in academia, journalism and Hollywood despite his brutal regime.
This praise included Salon writer David Sirota’s piece after the leader’s death, titled “Hugo Chavez’s economic miracle.”
In British publication The New Statesman, a headline as Chavez was nearing death in January 2013 was “Hugo Chavez: Man against the world,” and its sub-headline read “As illness ends Hugo Chavez’s rule in Venezuela, what will his legacy be? Richard Gott argues he brought hope to a continent.”
This praise of Chavez by so many who enjoyed the benefits of living in a capitalist society while looking at the economic record of the late leader, as well as what his succcessor President Nicolas Maduro, has come undone.
Mexican NGO, the Citizens’ Council for Public Security and Criminal Justice, published its annual ranking of urban crime in January 2016, and found that in 2015, Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, was the most murderous place on Earth.
Caracas has 119.87 murders per 100,000 people.
Other than personal concerns for safety, Venezuelans suffer from lacking economic opportunity due to low oil prices and government mismanagement of the state-owned oil firm..."

Does the #SendAScepticToSpace Crowd Realize Astronauts are Skeptics Too?

Does the #SendAScepticToSpace Crowd Realize Astronauts are Skeptics Too? | Somewhat Reasonable
Friends of the Earth (Australia) has started a crowd-source and social media campaign called  #SendASkepticToSpace
The idea, you see, is that if an skeptic of anthroprogenic global warming (AGW) was put in orbit around the Earth, he’d finally see how fragile our planet is, forget what the data says, and join the alarmist camp.
Do these folks realize that at least two heroes from the Apollo program are among the most prominent and learned skeptics of the discredited hypothesis that human activity is causing an unavoidable climate crisis? I’m guessing the answer is no.
Walter Cunningham (Apollo 7) and Harrison “Jack” Schmitt (Apollo 17) have each been to space, and have spoken about the problems with the AGW hypothesis at Heartland’s International Conferences on Climate Change. [See Cunningham’s presentationshere, and Schmitt’s presentations here.]
Someone was kind enough to nominate The Heartland Institute for the trip. I’d be happy to represent the organization (as would Walt Cunningham), but considering the campaign has raised a whopping $170 as of this post, maybe I shouldn’t start taking stress tests just yet. The leading candidates for the trip, by the way, are:
  1. Donald Trump
  2. Tony Abbott
  3. George Christensen
  4. Greg Hunt
  5. Jim Inhofe
Watch the video below for the pitch.

SICK: Obama Launches SHOCKINGLY Racist Attack Against "White Americans":

"Are you a white person who isn’t happy with the way that President Barack Obama has handled the country? Well, then Barack would like to know why you’re not giving him enough credit, you racist!

That’s at least the implicit message of an unhinged, racist address our country’s chief executive gave Thursday in Elkhart County, Indiana. In it, he decried Republicans campaigning against “welfare queens” and talking about “makers and takers.”

“Their basic message is anti-government, anti-immigrant, anti-trade, and let’s face it — it’s anti-change,” Obama said, according to Breitbart."

Nearly half of Bay County public school students get subsidized lunches

Nearly half of Bay County public school students get subsidized lunches | MLive.com:
"BAY CITY, MI -- Nearly half of the students in three Bay County public school districts receive free or subsidized lunches, a jump from the numbers just 10 years before, according to the latest state data.
The percentage of students receiving these benefits in Bay City, Bangor and Pinconning school districts hovers near 50 percent.
...Shelley Blair, director of Food Services for Bangor Township Schools, said that boils down to three things: advertising, accessibility and stigma.
"There's not such a stigma with this anymore," Blair said. "The schools put it out there more. We get it out there to all those families."
And, she said, with online application processes families can log on, sign up and see if they're eligible without having to leave the home."

State Department Will Not Reopen Investigation Into Edited Video | TheBlaze.com

State Department Will Not Reopen Investigation Into Edited Video | TheBlaze.com:

"However, the State Department’s decision to bypass an investigation has no bearing on the inspector general, which may still choose to further examine the incident — a request that has been made by the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

The agency’s watchdog, Toner noted, “will decide for itself whether it wants to look into this incident.”

The State Department’s refusal to reopen an investigation comes one day after the agency admitted that an unnamed official within the public affairs office ordered the erasure of video from a 2013 briefing that contained a damning admission from former spokeswoman Jen Psaki, whom Fox News correspondent James Rosen accused of  lying about negotiations with Iran."

A very reasonable idea-----SESSIONS: Create 'safe zones' for refugees in Middle East

SESSIONS: Create 'safe zones' for refugees in Middle East - The American MirrorThe American Mirror
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has a plan for dealing with refugees in Syria and Turkey that doesn’t involve a mass migration to Europe or the United States.
In a Fox News report highlighting a terrorism travel warning for Europe issued by the State Department this week, Trump national security advisor Sen. Jeff Sessions, of Alabama, told host Greta Van Susteren “a big part of the problem is this massive flow of illegal immigrants into Europe, mostly from Arab areas where we have too much terrorism.
Sponsored by Revcontent
“President Trump, if he’s elected, will take strong steps on that to ensure that people who come to our country are properly vetted,” Sessions said. “Most of the people in Europe now, well over a million, are young males and in no way have they been vetted.
They’re coming in, like we have people coming across the border, with no real way to evaluate their background or danger.”
...“What we got to do – what the United States should do and Europe should do – is make clear that people will not be allowed in their country illegally, and then I think the world does have a duty to see what can be done to create better and more refugee areas,” Sessions said.
“I really believe we can create safe zones in Turkey, in Syria, where people can live safely there, close to their home, so they can be returned as soon as possible..."

Dad Gets Call From Gov't, Horrified at What They're MAKING Him Do for Refugees:

"Sadly, this is likely not an isolated incident, nor is it the only proof of European governments placing the wants and needs of their burgeoning migrant populations above those of their own tax-paying citizens.

In truth, this shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who pays attention, as situations like this are the inevitable result of progressive multiculturalism mixed with the socialist government ownership of most things, including the buildings that people call home. They can dictate who can live where and for how long."

What the heck are they doing over there!! Total salaries of $2 billion a year?!!-----Relating To The Struggle: Here Is How Much Federal Reserve Bank Presidents Made In 2015

Relating To The Struggle: Here Is How Much Federal Reserve Bank Presidents Made In 2015 | Zero Hedge:
As the economy struggles and wage growth stagnates, everyone can rest easy knowing that the Federal Reserve bank presidents are getting paid quite nicely for all of their efforts.
While wages grew 2.6% (at best) In 2015, Fed presidents saw a 4% average salary increase. And before anyone says that the presidents took one for the team, taking a pay freeze from 2011-2013, it was made up for in 2014 when a 6.6% increase was awarded.
New York's William Dudley tops the list in 2015, pulling in a cool $466,500, followed by San Francisco's John Williams who made $422,900. The lowest paid Fed president was St. Louis's James Bullard, who pulled down a meager $339,700.
Here is the complete list from 2015
This chart shows the pay increases from 2014 to 2015 - San Francisco's John Williams saw the largest increase of about12%
The Fed Board reviews reserve bank officer salaries annually, and each bank has compensation caps, with the highest set at $469,500 for Boston, New York and San Francisco. Presidents receive pay increases each January and got a special "adjustment" in 2015 as the Fed transitioned from its previous policy Bloomberg reports.
For those that struggle to make ends meet every single day in this "recovery" that is producing minimum wage jobs, just know that those at the Federal Reserve are working hard each and every day to earn their paycheck, and to create a better future for banks the average American.

Facebook Censors Swedish Story About Rapes by Muslim Refugees

Facebook Censors Swedish Story About Rapes by Muslim Refugees | MRCTV
Facebook censorship of individual member pages is not just limited to the United States.
On Wednesday, Facebook deleted the personal account/page of Ingrid Carlqvist, the Gatestone Institute's Swedish expert.
Her offense was posting a video news report she created for Gatestone that discussed an almost 1,500% increase in rapes in Sweden
Ms. Carlqvist suggests the increase of rapes may be attributable to the mass influx of immigrants coming mainly from Muslim countries such as Iraq, Syria and Somalia.
...The video is scholarly, not sensationalist in tone.
Sweden's recent population growth is without parallel. Never before in the country's history has the number of inhabitants increased so fast. Sweden is now the fastest growing country in Europe.
Over the past 10-15 years, immigrants have mainly come from Muslim countries such as Iraq, Syria and Somalia. Might this mass influx explain Sweden's rape explosion? It is difficult to give a precise answer, because Swedish law forbids registration based on people's ancestry or religion. One possible explanation is that, on average, people from the Middle East have a vastly different view of women and sex than Scandinavians have. And despite the attempts by the Swedish establishment to convince the population that everyone setting foot on Swedish soil becomes exactly like those who have lived here for dozens of generations, facts point in an altogether different direction.
In this case, Facebook may have been incited to censor this story by a new European Union push in cooperation with Facebook, Twitter, and Google to report incidents of racism or xenophobia to the authorities for criminal prosecution:
In order to prevent the spread of illegal hate speech, it is essential to ensure that relevant national laws transposing the Council Framework Decision on combating racism and xenophobia are fully enforced by Member States in the online as well as the in the offline environment. While the effective application of provisions criminalising hate speech is dependent on a robust system of enforcement of criminal law sanctions against the individual perpetrators of hate speech, this work must be complemented with actions geared at ensuring that illegal hate speech online is expeditiously reviewed by online intermediaries and social media platforms, upon receipt of a valid notification, in an appropriate time-frame. To be considered valid in this respect, a notification should not be insufficiently precise or inadequately substantiated

Immigration Rises -- Legal and Illegal Alike, & It Remains an Issue in U.S. Politics

Immigration Rises -- Legal and Illegal Alike, & It Remains an Issue in U.S. Politics | National Review:
"The numbers of arrivals, legal and illegal alike, are rising, not falling.
‘The immigration crisis that has roiled American politics for decades has faded into history.”
That was the lede of a New York Times op-ed four years ago that neatly summarized the preferred narrative of supporters of amnesty and unlimited immigration.
This was reinforced by a Pew study that found “More Mexicans Leaving Than Coming to the U.S.” (though it arrived at that headline only by counting the U.S.-citizen children of the immigrants as “Mexicans”).
The storyline was that mass immigration was a phase we’d now finished with.
Thus any continued agitation about amnesty or border enforcement or job competition could only be naked racism.
Oops.
The newest data from the Census Bureau show a surge in total immigration over the past two years. In 2014 and 2015, 3.1 million new foreign-born people moved here, or about 1.5 million per year. This is up from the 2.3 million in the prior two-year period, and 2.1 million in 2010–2011."
