Scott Pruitt's Clean Power Plan Rollback | National Review:
"The first argument against the Clean Power Plan is cronyism. The Clean Power Plan was designed to disadvantage certain industries, namely coal producers and other fossil-fuel concerns, in the interest of certain other politically favored industries, namely alternative- and renewable-energy companies."

"Many people (me included) wondered how it was that the openly-Communist Spenser Rapone was allowed to graduate from West Point.
It’s not as though Rapone was underground with his point of view as a proud Communist.
And West Point isn’t Evergreen State College—is it?
So how on earth did Rapone fall through the cracks?
"Many people (me included) wondered how it was that the openly-Communist Spenser Rapone was allowed to graduate from West Point.
It’s not as though Rapone was underground with his point of view as a proud Communist.
And West Point isn’t Evergreen State College—is it?
So how on earth did Rapone fall through the cracks?
Now the professor who had originally reported Rapone to West Point authorities (to no avail), retired Army Lieutenant Colonel Robert Heffington, has issued an open letter to West Point graduates with a word—actually, many words—of explanation:
Here is the text of the letter.
After you’ve read it, you will understand that Rapone didn’t fall through the cracks.
There weren’t any cracks.
If what Heffington says it’s the truth—and I’m definitely inclined to believe it—then West Point has apparently become a standardless, permissive, PC, open (and perhaps bottomless) pit.
Honor hearings are rarely scheduled and reports of honor infractions actively discouraged, and students are rarely disciplined for violations even when admittedly guilty.
Academic standards are non-existent; it seems nearly impossible to flunk out.
Heffinton isn’t sure when all this started—he thinks about 10 years ago, but my guess is that it began at some point early in the Obama years, with their emphasis on a PC military..."

"Wow!
Amazing Video From The 50's Warning Americans About Bernie, Warren and Obama's "Master Plan"
"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs"
People could see it coming and tried to warn us about Socialism / Progressivism / Communism / Marxism infecting America back in the 1950s!
Excellent video that shows you what happens when you surrender you liberty to government in exchange for dependency on the government for your every need.
Unfortunately, today’s radicalized Democrats are all for the Master Plan, to be devised and implemented by the likes of Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Barack Obama."

Cook County, Illinois; Chicago; New Orleans; New York City; and Philadelphia were all warned that the Justice Department believes they cities have laws of policies that run afoul of federal immigration law."

"...We're now told that that timeline was, in fact, back to front.
Instead, Jesus Campos was investigating the door alert before the massacre even began.
At 9.59pm, Paddock responded to Mr Campos' arrival by emptying 200 rounds into the 32nd floor corridor.
Which seems a tad excessive.
Paddock then apparently took a leisurely six-minute break before going over to the window and beginning his massacre.
Which seems a tad excessively relaxed.
What was he doing?
Having a nice cup of tea?
Calling down to room service?
Your guess is as good as the coppers'.
...We're asked to believe that he made "millions" playing video poker - which is as likely, as Ann Coulter put it in an excellent column, as making millions by smoking crack.
If, in the all but statistically impossible event he did manage to relieve the casinos' machines of millions of dollars, he would certainly not be additionally enriched by free hotel suites and complimentary $500-a-glass vintage port, as his brother claims..."

Be skeptical of Ken Burns’ ‘The Vietnam War’ - The Citizen
"Some months ago I and a dozen other local veterans attended a screening at the Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta, a preview of a new documentary on the Vietnam war by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick.
The screening was a one-hour summation of this 10-part documentary, 18 hours long.
The series began showing on PBS Sunday, Sept. 17, and with Burns’ renowned talent mixing photos, video clips and compelling mood music in documentary form, the series promises to be compelling to watch.
That doesn’t mean it tells the truth.
For many years I have been presenting to high school classes a 90-minute session titled “The Myths and Truths of the Vietnam War.”
One of my opening comments is, “The truth about Vietnam is bad enough without twisting it all out of shape with myths, half-truths and outright lies from the anti-war left.”
...One of those photos is the summary execution of a Viet Cong soldier in Saigon, capital city of South Vietnam, during the battles of the Tet Offensive in 1968.
Our dishonorable enemy negotiated a cease-fire for that holiday, then on that holiday attacked in about 100 places all over the country.
Here’s what I tell students about the execution in the photo..."

John Stossel: Why is rebuilding after storms the federal government's responsibility? | Fox News
"The hurricane devastation is severe.
What should the federal government do?
Give us lots of money, say many in the wounded states.
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) demanded “about $150 billion” -- just for Texas.
So far, Congress has agreed to $15 billion in hurricane relief.
But more will come.
Few Americans will object.
The House vote for the first $7.9 billion was 419-3.
But let’s take a breath.
Why is rebuilding the federal government’s responsibility?
This idea that the federal government must lead in rebuilding is only a recent phenomenon, says the Cato institute’s Chris Edwards.
...But many government handouts cause more problems than they solve.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency says it will “rush recovery money” to National Flood Insurance Program policyholders.
That may sound like a good thing, but it creates incentives that will cause more problems during the next flood.
I know that because I was one of those policyholders once.
I built a house on the edge of the ocean.
Without National Flood Insurance’s encouragement, I would never have built there.
But the Flood Insurance Program offers cheap insurance, so I did build.
Government paid for me to rebuild.
Thanks, taxpayers!
I won’t rip you off again, but others will.
Millions of people hold federal flood insurance.
The program was $25 billion in debt even before this year’s hurricanes..."

The False Ideas Intellectuals Peddle at College Campuses
The False Ideas Intellectuals Peddle at College Campuses:
"As George Orwell said, “some ideas are so stupid that only intellectuals believe them.”
Many stupid ideas originate with academics on college campuses. If they remained there and didn’t infect the rest of society, they might be a source of entertainment, much in the way a circus is.
Let’s look at a few stupid ideas peddled by intellectuals.
During the Cold War, academic leftists made a moral equivalency between communist totalitarianism and democracy."

"...But there’s no pep talk this year. Just dread.
The attempts to unwind the 2016 presidential election have changed everything.
I’ve written before how the attempts to intimidate the Electoral College electors into changing their votes was a game changer for me.
That went beyond politics into attempted coup territory.
That went beyond politics into attempted coup territory.
It wasn’t just a matter of opposing Trump or Trump policies, which is legitimate, but an attempt to nullify an election.
Criticize Trump all you want, I certainly did during the primaries, but respect the vote.
If you don’t respect the vote, then you are not just political opposition, you are a danger to our system.
If the assault on the Electoral College was the game changer for me, a runner up was waking up to implications of the concentration of power in a small number of social media and internet companies who have been weaponized to shut down speech and expression..."
