"A while back, someone spray-painted a swastika on a trash cart at the University of Maryland. 
As with so many other similar situations lately, students got extremely upset and the school did its best to respond.

Also, as with so many other similar situations lately, it appears we have yet another faked hate crime.

You wouldn’t know it by reading news from the University of Maryland or its student newspaper, but the suspect charged in connection with a spray-painted swastika on campus is … African-American.

So maybe that’s why currently only one news outlet notes swastika suspect Alford is black:

Court records show the man accused of spray-painting a swastika inside a residence hall at the University of Maryland in September is African American.

Students were surprised to learn someone who is a member of a race which has been historically oppressed is accused of the hate-related incident.

“I guess it proves that you don’t have to be a certain race to hate people, but I mean, it’s just you would think that someone, especially from a race that has been subjected to hate before, you would think why would you want to reciprocate that to somebody else,” said student Abby Gorun.

This has been quite the phenomenon since the election of Donald Trump.

There's been an intense desire among some on the Left to prove that racists are coming out of the woodwork -- but without any evidence, they need to manufacture the hate themselves. 

Now many people assume each new incident is a fraud, for good reason. 

Remarkably few ever turn out to be actual hate crimes..."

But while you (and the media) were distracted by the latest shiny object dangled by the president, some tectonic plate-shifting occurred in the Middle East.
Representatives of Hamas and Fatah (competing groups seeking control over the Palestinians) have met in Cairo at the invitation of Egypt's President El-Sisi to craft a governing coalition, forming a single unified Palestinian government.
While fronted by El-Sisi, the meeting was proposed and supported by Trump. 
Unlike his predecessor, who crowed "historic achievement!" every time he suggested everyone just get along, Trump wisely remained in the background, avoiding the inevitable resistance occasioned by direct U.S. involvement in the talks.
This promises to be an entirely Arab, entirely Muslim solution, palatable to the so-called "Arab street." 
It may be an agreement also acceptable to the other regional powers, who have been casting about for a non-Western counter-balance to the fanaticism of ISIS and the caliphate-builders.
How do we know this? 
As a show of good faith, Hamas just dropped a dime on the locations of ISIS cells along the Egyptian-Israeli border..."

"Jimmy Kimmel says he’s laid off the Harvey Weinstein jokes because he’s not the “moral conscience of America” (there’s also a video of him asking young women to guess what’s in his crotch.
And suggesting they feel it and put their mouths on it).
Famously, NBC is  playing shy  about the scandal, having refused to broadcast the detailed exposé by Ronan Farrow, who took it to the New Yorker which did publish it.
The story has laid bare the hypocrisy of the media giants, Democratic biggies, and the Hollywood virtue signalers.

At the Boston Herald, Howie Carr reminds us of the NBC double standard:
NBC News has always had a soft spot for millionaire Democrats accused of rape. 
Almost 20 years ago, they had the first on-camera interview with Juanita Broaddrick, who credibly accused Bill Clinton of raping her, but that story was spiked on orders of… Brian Williams.
We already knew that Saturday Night Live’s producer Lorne Michaels last weekend gave a pass to his dear friend Weinstein. That’s how corrupt the entertainment side of NBC is. But now it turns out that Ronan Farrow begged NBC “News” to run his exposé, which has since been printed by The New Yorker. [snip]
Farrow had NYPD audio of Weinstein admitting to sexually assaulting a 21-year-old Italian model. And he had video of actress Rose McGowan accusing Harvey of raping her.
Imagine that -- a big-time Democratic donor to such moral titans as Bill Clinton, Al Gore, John Edwards, three members of the Kennedy family and Eliot Spitzer -- accused of sexually abusing a woman.
But NBC adamantly refused to run the piece because… well, reread the above paragraph.
In fact, the Huffington Post reported, NBC ordered Ronan Farrow, who was then under contract, to stop reporting the story.
“NBC tried to put a stop to the interview with the woman accusing Weinstein of rape,” the website said. “The network insisted he not use an NBC News crew for the interview, and neither was he to mention his NBC News affiliation.”
Here’s one ex-Weinstein employee, Tina Brown, describing how Harvey always kept corrupt alt-left “journalists” from outing him: “It was startling -- and professionally mortifying -- to discover how many hacks… were on the Miramax payroll with a ‘consultancy’ or a ‘development deal’ (one even at The New York Times).”
