Facebook is the current scapegoat for all our paranoia about technology, privacy, data collection and social media. But they’re just the first mega-tech company to have something go wrong in a big way. They won’t be the last.
If you think Facebook is bad, have you checked out what Google is up to?"

US: Won't pay over 25 percent of UN peacekeeping anymore

US: Won't pay over 25 percent of UN peacekeeping anymore:
"UNITED NATIONS — The United States will no longer shoulder more than a quarter of the multibillion-dollar costs of the United Nations' peacekeeping operations, Washington's envoy said Wednesday.
"Peacekeeping is a shared responsibility," U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley said at a Security Council debate on peacekeeping reform.
"All of us have a role to play, and all of us must step up."
The U.S. is the biggest contributor to the U.N.'s 15 peacekeeping missions worldwide.
Washington is paying about 28.5 percent of this year's $7.3 billion peacekeeping budget, though Haley said U.S. law is supposed to cap the contribution at 25 percent.
The second-biggest contributor, China, pays a bit over 10 percent..."

How the Nazis Used Gun Control | National Review

How the Nazis Used Gun Control | National Review:
"The Weimar Republic’s well-intentioned gun registry became a tool for evil.
The perennial gun-control debate in America did not begin here.
The same arguments for and against were made in the 1920s in the chaos of Germany’s Weimar Republic, which opted for gun registration. Law-abiding persons complied with the law, but the Communists and Nazis committing acts of political violence did not.
In 1931, Weimar authorities discovered plans for a Nazi takeover in which Jews would be denied food and persons refusing to surrender their guns within 24 hours would be executed.
They were written by Werner Best, a future Gestapo official.
In reaction to such threats, the government authorized the registration of all firearms and the confiscation thereof, if required for “public safety.”
The interior minister warned that the records must not fall into the hands of any extremist group..."

How else to explain recent 18th-century-type edicts from four federal district judges who are presuming to run the military without any authority under Article III of the U.S. Constitution?
Articles I and II, respectively, assign to Congress and the Executive Branch shared power to establish and implement military policies. In the waning months of his administration, President Barack Obama unilaterally decided that individuals identifying as transgender or having gender dysphoria could serve openly in the military."

Unfortunately, it seems to be a captive of the global warming religion. Its data are fraudulent.
What do we mean by fraudulent? How about this: NOAA has made repeated "adjustments" to its data, for the presumed scientific reason of making the data sets more accurate."

Graphic: Jim Carrey Posts Horrifying Picture Showing Trump's Sons Bloody and Impaled
"...“Jim Carrey’s back” and I think only one thing: Oh no, he’s drawn another semi-pornographic cartoon involving the Trump administration, hasn’t he?
Yes, apparently believing that America doesn’t see him as disturbed enough, Carrey has taken on a sort of second career as a bizarre purveyor of political art on his Twitter account.
...Carrey’s latest picture involves two of President Trump’s sons being killed by an elephant, apparently a reference to their hunting or the fact that their father has chosen to loosen the ban on importing trophies from said hunt..."

Trudeau Chickens Out When Asked About His Carbon Tax Plan | Daily Wire:

Image result for flickr commons images Justin Trudeau"Justin Trudeau, who likes to pose as an environmental expert, has an interesting method of dealing with questions about the carbon tax he champions and exactly what gains it has given Canadians regarding greenhouse gas emissions: he refuses to answer the question, as do members of his government.
Recently that dismissive posture was displayed when Catherine McKenna, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, refused to answer a question from Robert Sopuck of the Conservative Party. Sopuck asked, “I have a very specific question regarding the $50 carbon tax: How much will Canada’s emissions—and I want a number here—how much will Canada’s emissons be reduced under a $50 a ton carbon tax?”"

  • Michigan's unlimited coverage for medical costs on auto insurance policies is a primary reason the state's insurance costs are high.
  • Michigan motorists will see their auto insurance bills rise by $22 per vehicle after July 1 to fund an increased assessment for catastrophic injuries.
  • The Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association, the state's pool of medical payments for injured drivers, has set its 2019 fiscal year rate at $192 per vehicle, up from this year's rate of $170 per vehicle.

Under Michigan's no-fault auto insurance law, medical claims exceeding $550,000 are paid by the MCCA, a Livonia-based organization that claims $20.7 billion in assets and $23 billion in long-term liabilities on its balance sheet.
The MCCA says it has an estimated deficit of $2.3 billion..."

#1 This day 1974-----Blue Swede - Hooked on a Feeling

FACT CHECK: ARE MORE PEOPLE KILLED BY ‘HAMMERS AND FISTS’ THAN AR-15S?

"Parkland student Kyle Kashuv claimed in a Monday tweet that “hammers and fists” are used to kill more people than AR-15s.
“The AR-15 … is used less times per year to kill people than hammers and fists are used to kill people,” he tweeted.
Verdict: True
The FBI reports that more people are killed each year using blunt objects or “personal weapons” (fists, hands or feet) than are killed using rifles. Rifles are used in a small fraction of gun homicides...
But rifles are used in only a small fraction of murders committed using firearms..."
