Michigan’s Top School Pension Payouts [Michigan Capitol Confidential]
"During Barbara Fowler’s final year working as superintendent of the Troy School District in 2014, she had 42 years of experience in public schools and was earning a salary of $222,054.
Now retired, Fowler collects an annual pension of $145,140 as a member of the Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System, or MPSERS.

...Individual MPSERS pensions get a 3 percent annual cost-of-living increase every year.
To illustrate the value of those increases, The Detroit News reported that former Forest Hills Public Schools Superintendent Jon Washburn was collecting $136,027 in 2011.
That was then the second-highest school pension payout in the state.
By 2016 Washburn’s payout had grown to $161,124, a $25,097 increase over a five-year period, making it the third highest in the state...
Here’s a list of the top eight MSPERS pensions as of 2016:
  • Albert Lorenzo, former president of Macomb Community College, $204,264
  • Thomas Svitkovich, former superintendent of Genesee Intermediate School District, $188,448
  • Jon Washburn, former superintendent of Forest Hills Public Schools, $161,124

"RANT: Accurate portrayal of me listening to David Hogg speak. Look, I’m sorry dude, sincerely.
It is horrible... School shootings. That said, you have to watch what you say.
I’m Derek, I got shot on a house raid in Iraq.
My getting shot didn’t make me a professional on war, international relations, house raids (obviously🤷🏻‍♀️), or guns.
This horrible thing happened to me but I didn’t come home and protest the war...
Even though I do kinda have these feelings that Iraq was errr... Questionable.
😂 But it ain’t my place.
I did my part.
So, I empathize with you and your peers because whereas I signed up to be shot at, none of you did.
(Not exactly sure you actually got shot AT but that’s not the point here).
...I guess I just want to say don’t be so quick to talk.
Don’t be so quick to think YOU are somehow the ONE person who has things figured out.
You want to make a change?
Cool!!
But... Try to be less of a cunt about it.
Love and respect,

The FBI’s Long List of Failures – Da Tech Guy Blog

See the source imageThe FBI’s Long List of Failures – Da Tech Guy Blog:
"The FBI has a long history of errors, miscalculations, and outright failures that make the current allegations almost pale by comparison.
As a young journalist, I trekked back and forth through the FBI “cordon” around Wounded Knee in 1973, where Native American activists had taken over the site in South Dakota of a famous massacre of Indians by federal troops

  • A few years later, I wrote about the virtual execution of Fred Hampton and Mark Clark, two Black Panther leaders in Chicago. The duo had been a target of the FBI failed counter-intelligence program of radicals in the 1960s and 1970s.

...But there’s far more than my personal experience with the bureau.

  • Ruby Ridge, near my birthplace of Boise, Idaho, ended with the death of the son and wife of Randy Weaver and an eventual big cash settlement. The siege started over Weaver’s failure to appear for a firearms charge in 1992. More important, the rise of the militia movement happened as a direct result of the confrontation. The incident was so poorly handled that the FBI agent-in-charge was sentenced to 18 months in prison for obstructing an investigation into the FBI’s incompetence...
  • The 51-day confrontation with the Branch Davidians ended with 76 people dead in 1993 in Texas in an ill-conceived assault that led to a massive fire. Again, the incident added fuel to the militia fire.
  • The FBI and other law enforcement officials failed to understand the significance of Ruby Ridge and Waco to a growing militia movement, which ultimately led to the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995. So much so that the FBI initially thought Oklahoma City was carried out by Middle Eastern terrorists.

The Constitution requires an “actual Enumeration” every decade, and the priority of the census, as outlined by Karen Dunn Kelley, the under secretary for Economic Affairs at the Commerce Department in her March 26 announcement, is “obtaining complete and accurate data.” That data is used for everything from enforcement of the Voting Rights Act to the distribution of federal funding."

The Demands of Antifa and the Original Fascists Have a Lot in Common - Foundation for Economic Education - Working for a free and prosperous world:
"A ghastly phantom has descended upon America: the specter of anti-capitalism.
Young people march behind the socialist bandwagon and some activists block free speech as members of a group called “Antifa”.
This “anti-fascist” movement engages in militant protests and does not shrink from using violence.
As a part of the extreme left, the members of the “antifa-movement” are self-proclaimed “anti-capitalists” and declared “enemies of the right”.
They call themselves “anti-fascist”, when, in fact, more than any other ideology, fascism characterizes their own movement.
Yet what is fascism and what is the content of this ideology?
See the source imageThe "Fascist Manifesto"
The Fascist Manifesto was proclaimed in 1919 by Alceste De Ambris and Filippo Tommaso Marienetti.
In their pamphlet, the authors called for an eight-hour workday and a minimum wage; it demanded worker representation in industrial management and equal standing of trade unions, industrial executives, and public servants.
The authors of the Fascist Manifesto demanded progressive taxation, invalidity insurance, and other types of social benefits, along with reducing the retirement age.
The Manifesto demanded the confiscation of the property of all religious institutions and to nationalize the armament industry.
The authors of the Fascist Manifesto called for establishing a corporatist system of ‘National Councils’ formed by experts to be elected by their professional organizations who should hold legislative power in their respective areas.
De Ambris and Marienetti demanded a strong progressive tax on capital to expropriate a portion of all wealth and the seizure of all the possessions of the religious congregations together with the nationalization of the arms industry.
In 1922, the socialist Benito Mussolini came to power in Italy under the banner of fascism and put most of the fascist program into practice as it was proclaimed in the Manifesto some years earlier.

A comparison with the Manifesto of the Communist Party, written by Marx and Engels and published in 1848, reveals the kinship of fascism and Communism..."

“We are going to be guarding our border with our military. That’s a big step,” Trump said during a meeting with the leaders of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. “We cannot have people flowing into our country illegally, disappearing and, by the way, never showing up for court.”"

Scientology & Nation of Islam: Troubling Connections | National Review

Scientology & Nation of Islam: Troubling Connections | National Review:
Farrakahn receives a commission for each of his followers who undergoes a Scientology ‘auditing.’

See the source imageScientology is commonly known as the religion of the stars. Its reach inside Hollywood is deep, and celebrity recruitment is a huge component of the group’s marketing strategy. It sounds strange to describe the proselytizing efforts of a religion as a marketing strategy, but Scientology is unlike any other American religion.
It operates as a business at best and as a cult at worst.
...Remini takes pains to chronicle how and why the organization’s power and reach are incredibly troubling. She exposes the influence the group has over law enforcement (most notably, the Los Angeles Police Department) and local political officials in Los Angeles and Clearwater, Fla., where the group is headquartered.
...There is yet another component of Scientology that has gone almost entirely unreported: its deep relationship with another troubling religious group, the Nation of Islam (NOI).
The CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, Jonathan Greenblatt, explains why the NOI is so troubling, especially for American Jews:
Under Louis Farrakhan’s leadership, the Nation of Islam remains one of the country’s leading purveyors of anti-Semitism..."
...Scientology chronicler Tony Ortega first outlined the relationship between the two problematic groups from his perch at the Village Voice..."

Is Our Culture Dead? | Power Line

Is Our Culture Dead? | Power Line
"There was a time when people in certain occupations were assumed to be educated, and educated people could be presumed to know certain things.
There was, in other words, a common culture.
That era wasn’t so long ago; I actually lived through it.
But I am afraid it may be gone.
Exhibit A: A reporter for National Public Radio–a prestige media outlet, ostensibly–had no concept of basic Christian theology:
An NPR report on Good Friday described Easter inaccurately and, in doing so, practically begged Christians to renew charges that the media is biased against them.
“Easter — the day celebrating the idea that Jesus did not die and go to hell or purgatory or anywhere like that, but rather arose into heaven — is on Sunday,” read an article on NPR’s website.
...A reporter shouldn’t write about Easter without having the faintest idea of what it is all about, and someone who thinks Jesus “did not die” has no business writing about Christianity.
My point, of course, is not that reporters need to be Christians, but rather that the basics of Christianity are fundamental to our culture and should be understood by anyone who holds himself out as educated and undertakes to write on the subject.
Exhibit B: Ancient Greece and Rome are the other major contributors to Western civilization, along with the Judeo-Christian tradition, and the Iliad is essential to our understanding of Greek civilization. There was a time when reporters knew something about ancient history and literature, but those days are gone at the New York Times Book Review–again, perhaps not coincidentally, an allegedly high-quality outlet:
From the corrections column in this morning’s New York Times Book Review:
The Long View column on March 18 misstated the circumstances surrounding the Trojan horse in Greek legend. It was the Trojans who allowed the horse within the gates; it was not the Greeks, whose soldiers were inside the horse..."

Hospital backlog: The boy who waited 47 weeks for spine surgery - BBC News:
"Keilan, a 12-year old boy with scoliosis, a severe curvature of the spine, waited 47 weeks before being admitted to hospital for surgery.
Keilan BennettKeilan's story is revealed in Hospital, the award-winning BBC Two series, which was filmed in January and February at Nottingham University Hospitals - one of the country's biggest and busiest trusts.
It is the story of the health service at an unprecedented time in its 70-year history.
Keilan's operation, aimed at correcting and straightening his spine, had been scheduled for the middle of the winter crisis when NHS England advised every hospital to suspend all routine operations.
Although paediatrics is usually protected from cancellations, the high number of patients being treated at the Queen's Medical Centre, where Keilan was taken for surgery, meant his operation had twice been put back.
Keilan's case highlights how growing pressure on the hospital can lead to delays which affect patients' conditions..."

"Media is scripted.
In more ways than one.The compilation in the start is going viral right now, which shows why old media want to abolish social media – if we couldn't upload a video like that on Youtube or Twitter, we wouldn't be able to show how corrupt they are.
Social media is competition that old media doesn't want.
The media hysteria on fake news only serves to push for a destruction of social media in its current state.

The endgame is to force Youtube and Facebook to get publishers, which decide what's allowed on their platforms.
In that moment they've essentially done away with social media and returned to the "old way" of things – where a monopoly gets to control what voices are allowed to be heard.
