Senator Jeff Flake was trapped in an elevator today when he was confronted by protesters. Some of the protesters held the door and wouldn’t allow it to close so Flake could proceed to his intended location, which was to be part of the vote for Judge Brett Kavanaugh, Trump’s Supreme Court nominee who faces sexual assault accusations from Christine Blasey Ford.
After some deeper investigation into the people who confronted Flake at the elevator, it was revealed that one of them works for an organization who takes money from George Soros.
Oversight committee looking for Children's Protective Services fixes after scathing audit | MLive.com LANSING, MI - The House Oversight Committee on Thursday began hearings on a recent, scathing audit of the state's Children's Protective Services division in a search for solutions to help improve the state's handling of cases involving vulnerable children.
The audit, released earlier this month, uncovered significant issues with how the state handled CPS cases.
For instance, CPS workers did not assess the risk of future harm properly in over 35 percent of the cases, didn't refer cases to county prosecutors in 50 percent of the cases and did not provide required medical examinations for children in 15 percent of the cases.
The report details 23 ways CPS is failing..." Read on.
Here's the 9 best takeaways from Heather Mac Donald's new ‘Diversity Delusion’ book - The College Fix "Like a boss, conservative intellectual Heather Mac Donald completely eviscerates the Left in her new book, “The Diversity Delusion: How Race and Gender Pandering Corrupt the University and Undermine Our Culture.” Mac Donald, a Manhattan Institute scholar, is a walking encyclopedia with a razor-sharp wit, and she does not suffer fools gladly. Her 278-page book targets the liberal ideologues running America’s higher education system, both exposing and debuking their agenda. The book also points out how these ill-guided policies have real world implications in everything from law enforcement to modern science. “The Diversity Delusion” rebuts many of the Left’s sacrosanct narratives with piles of facts, studies, anecdotes and observations. It would serve as a fantastic tool for any young college student seeking to address their peers’ grievances with data over feelings. Here’s nine of the best takeaways from the newly published book..." Read all.
“We” must all sacrifice for the environment | Watts Up With That?
"Being “hoisted by his own petard” means the bomb maker gets blown up and lifted sky high by his own explosive device. Former Colorado Department of Natural Resources director Greg Walcher notes that the term applies with delicious irony to the in-your-face, holier-than-thou environmentalists who inhabit and run San Francisco. Determined to save locally endangered salmon populations, they and the State of California have long demanded and imposed water use reductions by Central Valley farmers.
But now the California Water Resources Board wants further water use reductions – and this time those reductions will also hit city residences, schools and businesses, and hit them hard: a hefty portion of 98 billion to 220 billion gallons less water per year!
Imagine how many baths, showers, laundry and dishwasher loads, and other “essentials” that would mean.
But those rules and reductions were supposed to apply only to OTHER people, the once ultra-green urbanites are wailing.
We must all sacrifice for the environment
But I meant you – not me! We’re supposed to be exempt from rules we inflict on others..." Read on.
George Soros has indirectly funded Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm behind the infamous Steele dossier, a spokesman for the billionaire financier has acknowledged.
Michael Vachon, the Soros aide, told Washington Post columnist David Ignatius that Soros provided a grant to a nonprofit group called the Democracy Integrity Project.
That organization, which was formed in 2017 by Daniel Jones, a former Senate Intelligence Committee staffer for Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, paid Fusion GPS as a contractor to continue an investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
The Michigan GOP has decided to try and make sure that the winner of the 2016 election in the state, Donald Trump, could never duplicate that feat again by supporting the National Popular Vote Initiative.
What is the National Popular Vote Initiative? Sounds harmless right?
The National Popular Vote bill would guarantee the Presidency to the candidate who receives the most popular votes in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Actually, it shreds the United States Consitution...
...The video listed below from Prager university does an excellent job in under 5 minutes of explaining this.
So how does this effect a state like Michigan?
In the Presidential election of 2016 when Donald Trump faced off against Hillary Clinton, she won the popular vote according to 270 to win
Clinton 65,845,063 Trump 62,980,160
Difference 2,864,903
Yet Trump won the electoral vote 304 to 227.
This meant that Michigan, Iowa, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin were in play for the first time in decades. Had we just gone with the popular vote than the vote totals in California would have sealed the deal for Hillary.
Califonia alone would have decided the election and all those states in the south and midwest would be set aside for the states on the coast with the most population.
The electoral college made both candidates focus on the issues that are facing Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa which are much different than California.
So why in the world would the Michigan GOP be lining up for something that would have ensured that Donald Trump would not be President?
Well, a free trip to Hawaii wouldn’t hurt. According to the Detroit Free Press…
A group backing a major change in the way the president is elected took a large group of Michigan Republican lawmakers on a free trip to Hawaii in August...

What we are seeing are founding American principles being swept — among them the presumption of innocence and the rights of the accused — to feed the appetites of power politics
That’s what Kavanaugh is dealing with, having to testify and defend himself against uncorroborated allegations of sexual predation 36 years ago, when he was in high school and in his freshman year of college.
The short-term politics of all this is quite clear, a movement led by cynics and assisted by their handmaidens in the Democratic Media Complex.
President Trump praised Brett Kavanaugh Thursday night after the judge's Senate hearing, blasting Democrats by saying their "search and destroy strategy is disgraceful." "Judge Kavanaugh showed America exactly why I nominated him,"
The Best Ways to Fight Robocalls - Consumer Reports "Robocalls—the digital equivalent of mosquitoes in your bedroom on a hot summer evening—aren’t just annoying, they’re potentially dangerous. These automated phone calls can put you at risk of falling for scams that can have devastating financial consequences.
In July alone, more than 4 billion robocalls were made in the U.S., up from 2.6 billion one year ago, estimates YouMail, a provider of voicemail and call-blocking services.
...While telephone carriers, third-party companies, and robocall experts have long offered tools to help mitigate the calls, some new systems are being created.
One, known as Shaken and Stirred, is being developed by a number of companies in the telecom industry.
It is essentially an authentication system that sniffs out incoming calls to ensure that they are legitimate..." Read on.
