ME, A WEEK AGO ON WHAT TO EXPECT POST-KAVANAUGH

OCTOBER 13, 2018--ME, A WEEK AGO ON WHAT TO EXPECT POST-KAVANAUGH:
►Strange new respect for judicial minimalism. As Harvard Law professor Adrian Vermeule remarked, “Law review editors: brace for a tidal wave of legal academic theories supporting judicial minimalism, Thayerianism, and strong — very strong — theories of precedent. Above all: the Court must do nothing without bipartisan agreement, otherwise it is illegitimate.” The past half-century’s enthusiasm for judicial activism will vanish, as legal academia turns on a dime to promote theories that will constrain the court until a left-leaning majority returns, at which point they’ll turn on a dime again.

►New disrespect for the court: . . . If the court shifts right as expected, you can also expect legal academia and the news media, both of which lean very heavily to the left, to shift quite rapidly from near worship of the court to nonstop denigration. Some on the left are already talking openly of packing the court with additional seats, as Roosevelt tried to, if they get back in power. Others are talking about impeaching Kavanaugh, because, well, of course.

Washington Post Perspectives: Last night I told my husband 'I hate all men and wish all men were dead'

See the source imageWashington Post Perspectives: Last night I told my husband 'I hate all men and wish all men were dead'
"Now for something completely different.
The Washington Post has a “Post Everything” section where it posts opinion pieces from people who aren’t regular writers for the paper.
Today, the Post published a piece that really seemed out there.
It’s titled, “Thanks for not raping us, all you ‘good men.’ But it’s not enough.”
If you guessed from the title that this is not going to be a carefully reasoned piece, you guessed right.
It opens with author Victoria Bissell Brown, a retired history professor, screaming at her husband over something she admits was a very trivial comment:
I yelled at my husband last night. Not pick-up-your-socks yell. Not how-could-you-ignore-that-red-light yell. This was real yelling. This was 30 minutes of from-the-gut yelling. Triggered by a small, thoughtless, dismissive, annoyed, patronizing comment. Really small. A micro-wave that triggered a hurricane. I blew. Hard and fast. And it terrified me. I’m still terrified by what I felt and what I said. I am almost 70 years old. I am a grandmother. Yet in that roiling moment, screaming at my husband as if he represented every clueless male on the planet (and I every angry woman of 2018), I announced that I hate all men and wish all men were dead...

Facebook Cleans House - Purges Several Top Conservative Pages FOUR WEEKS BEFORE ELECTION
"On Thursday Facbeook announced the company took action on 559 Pages and 251 accounts that violated their “spam” and coordinated “inauthentic behavior” policies.
Facebook said most of those affected were political pages....

And now, several hours later, we are hearing that most of the purged political pages were on the right.

Facebook purged several conservative sites just four weeks before the election and without warning.
Facebook took down Right Wing News – a conservative page with over 3 million followers.
Brian Kolfage at Right Wing News reported:
I have been managing the Right Wing News Facebook page, and have been involved with the brand for many years.
And just today, Facebook took down our Facebook page, cutting off all contact we had with the millions of people who signed up to follow us, the millions of people who liked what we were sharing online.
I took over managing the page when John Hawkins decided to step aside to pursue other endeavors. John and I have a great relationship and I was honored to have the torch passed down to me. We had a coveted, verified blue check mark 3.5 Million fans, and I invested over $300,000 in ads at Facebook’s own request, nearly begging us to spend spend spend just to reach our fans … whom they kept making more difficult to reach with every passing year.

...No one from Facebook has reached out to any of these Facebook page owners to discuss their concerns..."

Watch spiked’s film on Count Dankula and the fall of liberal Britain.

"Markus Meechan was working in a call centre just outside Glasgow, and spending his free time making memes and YouTube skits under the name Count Dankula, when the Scottish police knocked on his door.
Image result for Markus MeechanHe was arrested, charged, prosecuted and eventually convicted of being ‘grossly offensive’, all for making a video in which he taught his pet pug to do a Nazi salute.
He was criminalised, and smeared as far right in the media.
In this film, spiked columnist Andrew Doyle went to meet the man behind the meme.
He found that Markus’s bizarre and terrifying story is one of a once liberal Britain that has gone down a dark and authoritarian road."

HS Principal Boots Student from Football Game for Wearing 'Trump 45' Jersey -- After Liberals Complain (VIDEO)

HS Principal Boots Student from Football Game for Wearing 'Trump 45' Jersey -- After Liberals Complain (VIDEO)
"A Harnett Central High School student was asked to remove his Trump 45 jersey at a Friday night football game.
Angry liberals complained to the principal who then told the boy to remove the jersey.
The student felt embarrassed that he could not wear a jersey supporting President Trump at the football game.
Conservative Tribune reported:
According to WTVD, ABC 11 in Durham, an 18-year-old student was ordered to change a jersey he wore with the name “Trump” and the number “45” for a football game Friday night, then marched off the premises by the school’s principal.
And his father isn’t happy about it at all.
“I think any mother or father would feel like I feel,” Mike Collins told the news station.
“We don’t want any kids violated. We don’t want to see kids embarrassed over something like this,” Collins said. “He was not disrespectful. He was not acting in a manner that would cause attention to him.”
