"Asked to compare and contrast President Trump with his predecessor as to why everything Trump does is met with gnashing of teeth and rending of hair from the Democrats, I came up with this:

• Obama enacted uncivil policies civilly.
• Trump enacts civil policies uncivilly.

It is hard to argue (although many will) that Obama's two terms were beneficial to America and then argue that Trump's have been harmful, especially given the metrics.
Like them or not, Trump's policies have been all about putting the American people first - all of them - rich and poor, whatever race, creed or color.
There are far too many people in America today who will willingly accept a knife shoved in their chest as long as their attacker smiles, speaks calmly, softly tells them how great death is for them and if they will just stop struggling, death will bring peace.
Trump jumps in cussing and screaming, grabbing the assailant's knife while yelling at you to fight back.
Given the 2020 Democrats are now indistinguishable from the Communist Party USA and their bright ideas are as fresh and new as Karl Marx's moldering corpse, the 2020 choice is shaping up to be one between protecting the right for each individual to make their own choices or empowering a unelected, unaccountable bureaucracy to choose for everyone.
The former allows America to continue, from the latter, there is no way back.

...CBS Chicago adds, “The brothers told detectives the three men rehearsed the attack days prior to it happening.”
The most important dot to connect to all of the above, though, comes from Smollett himself, who told Good Morning America (GMA) last week that he suspected a surveillance camera caught the whole incident.
Speaking to GMA’s Robin Roberts, Smollett said, “And I looked up and I saw there was a camera directly on the light post that is in the intersection. So I’m like, ‘there it is!’… And then the detective told me that the camera inside of the casing was facing north, so they didn’t have it, and that was disappointing.”
That detail appears to stick in his craw. 
Later in the interview, unprompted, he brings it up again: “The camera facing north, how is that my issue?”
If these brothers are telling the truth that the attack was pre-planned, Smollett may have arranged for it to take place in a location where he assumed it would be recorded.
And one can imagine, had there been surveillance footage of the attack, the investigation would have proceeded very, very differently.
Once police had the footage, it would leak. 
Once cable and network news had the footage, it would loop endlessly. 
The fact that the two brothers are black wouldn’t matter. 
CBS Chicago reports that a black face mask was found in their apartment. 
Smollett told police the attackers wore face masks. 
With those face masks, the organized left (the media, Democrats, celebrities) were allowed to assume his racist attackers were white.
...Take a step back, though…
Take a step back and look at the fire Smollett was allegedly willing to play with…
Imagine what it would have done to this country and to the city of Chicago if the attack had been recorded, if an outlet like TMZ had leaked the video, and if the wildly irresponsible race baiters at CNN had broadcast that video over and over and over again — an endless loop of two men assaulting a gay, black man; pouring bleaching on him and tying a noose around his neck.
It would have been just like that other media hoax — “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” — and we all know what that led to: the destruction of a predominantly black neighborhood in the ensuing riots.
The American media are garbage.
Thank heaven the Chicago police are not."

"Appearing on MSNBC Live With Hallie Jackson Monday morning, Washington Post opinion writer Jonathan Capehart lamented that actor Jussie Smollett’s claim of being assaulted by Trump supporters was falling apart. 
The liberal journalist then attempted to blame the “atmosphere of menace” supposedly created by the President to explain why so many in the media, including himself, believed the story.

“Well, I don’t know what to make of all this. 
Because when the news came out, a lot of people, myself included, were horrified,” Capehart began. 
He then justified the rush to judgement by arguing that Smollett’s account “fit in with a narrative” about the Trump era:

"Just the circumstances and the way he told the story, and what he said happened to him sort of fit in with a narrative – not a narrative, but a reality for a lot of people in this country since President Trump was inaugurated.
