During a FOX45’s live shot of an empty lot in Sandtown-Winchester a rat quickly scurried across just as reporter Maxine Streicher said city residences would like to see President Trump visit Baltimore.

Dozens of suburban Chicago families, perhaps many more, have been exploiting a legal loophole to win their children need-based college financial aid and scholarships they would not otherwise receive, court records and interviews show.

...Parents are giving up legal custody of their children during their junior or senior year in high school to someone else — a friend, aunt, cousin or grandparent. 
The guardianship status then allows the students to declare themselves financially independent of their families so they can qualify for federal, state and university aid, a ProPublica Illinois investigation found.

“It’s a scam,” said Andy Borst, director of undergraduate admissions at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. 
“Wealthy families are manipulating the financial aid process to be eligible for financial aid they would not be otherwise eligible for. They are taking away opportunities from families that really need it.”..."

"In a push to encourage drivers to shift from from gas-powered cars to plug-in electric vehicles, Consumers Energy recently announced a program to subsidize the installation of charging stations. Dubbed the PowerMIDrive program, the Jackson-based gas and electric utility’s initiative pays EV owners $400 subsidies to install car chargers at home. 
It also provides businesses amounts ranging from $5,000 to $70,000 to put chargers in their parking lots.
Most of the payments so far have gone to individuals and companies in nine counties, subsidizing some 50 charging stations altogether.
They are: Charlevoix, Muskegon, Kent, Allegan, Kalamazoo, Calhoun, Jackson, Saginaw and Midland counties.

“It’s reverse Robin Hood: stealing from the poor to give to the rich,” said Jason Hayes, director of environmental policy at the Mackinac Center.

"One of the greatest strengths of Donald Trump is his ability and willingness to say aloud things that everyone knows on prima facie evidence are true without a doubt but are either not spoken by the MSM or not spoken in the context of the Democrat/left having any connection to said facts.

Yesterday I wrote about the President’s statement concerning Baltimoreand listed a plethora of groups who made similar statements without them being attributed to racism. The fruits of his move, as Don Surber notes are now becoming apparent:

Baltimore Sun quickly exuded an editorial, “Better to have a few rats than to be one.” A couple of its white columnists came in on a sunny Saturday to denounce as racist the president telling the truth.

I doubt anyone on the editorial board lives in West Baltimore, which is the center of this tragedy. They belong to the Protected Class, as Peggy Noonan put it. They are protected from the adverse effects of the policies they embrace.

I wonder what they would think if their children went to sleep in a rat-infested house each night.

“I’d love to,” said Tony Wiener, vice president of Cardinal Home Builders. “It’s not possible.”

Wiener said he gets a call or email once a week asking for a new two-story house in the starter home price range. But he said the math makes it impossible for a number of reasons, and construction costs or profit are not foremost among them.

But lost in the frenzy over one particular image is an even more devastating fact: that over the last week Reuters has been caught red-handed in an astonishing variety of journalistic frauds in the photo coverage of the war in Lebanon.
This page serves as an overview of the various types of hoaxes, lies and other deceptions perpetrated by Reuters in recent days, since the details of the scandal are getting overwhelmed by a torrent of shallow mainstream media coverage that can easily confuse or mislead the viewer. 
...It's important to understand that there is not just a single fraudulent Reuters photograph, nor even only one kind of fraudulent photograph. 
There are in fact dozens of photographs whose authenticity has been questioned, and they fall into four distinct categories.
