The BFD | Climate Change: Reality vs Apocalyptic Rhetoric

The BFD | Climate Change: Reality vs Apocalyptic Rhetoric
"Listening to the apocalyptic shrieking of the Klimate Kids and the Extinction Rebellion nutters, it is clear that they are not only staggeringly ignorant of “the science” they fetishise, but completely and utterly divorced from anything approaching reality.
Like old-fashioned fire-and-brimstone preachers, scowling teenagers rant about the fire, tribulation and wailing and teeth-gnashing which awaits us climate sinners.
But the strictly empirical evidence to date is that the mild warming of the 20th century has been extremely beneficial.
Those are the facts.
Not “projections”, but hard, empirical data.
The concern over climate change is not so much about the warming that has occurred over the past century.
Rather, the concern is about projections of 21st century climate change based on climate model simulations of human-caused global warming, particularly those driven by the RCP8.5 greenhouse gas concentration scenario.

Simulations and models should never, ever be confused with empirical data, let alone regarded as hard facts.
And certainly not models which are “useless pieces of junk or worse…when they are used for climate forecasting”..."

‘Not a Great Way to Start the Day’

Image result for Army Master Sgt. Matthew O. Williams"On Thursday morning the White House announced that President Donald Trump will award the Medal of Honor to Army Master Sgt. Matthew O. Williams for conspicuous gallantry in Afghanistan in April of 2008.

It’s a good thing the President is celebrating the remarkable service of Sgt. Williams because the courageous Green Beret clearly isn’t prone to celebrating himself.

In an Army video posted today, our hero describes the ordeal he faced that day in the Shok Valley in a tone one might use to describe the challenges of installing drywall in an unfinished basement.
He describes jumping out of a helicopter on to the treacherous terrain and credibly reports that it was “not a great way to start the day.”
Things went downhill from there.
According to the White House:
In the face of rocket-propelled grenade, sniper, and machine gun fire, Sergeant Williams led an Afghan Commando element across a fast-moving, ice cold, and waist-deep river to fight its way up a terraced mountain to the besieged lead element of the assault force. Sergeant Williams then set up a base of fire that the enemy was not able to overcome. When his Team Sergeant was wounded by sniper fire, Sergeant Williams exposed himself to enemy fire to come to his aid and to move him down the sheer mountainside to the casualty collection point. Sergeant Williams then braved small arms fire and climbed back up the cliff to evacuate other injured soldiers and repair the team’s satellite radio. He again exposed himself to enemy fire as he helped move several casualties down the near vertical mountainside and as he carried and loaded casualties on to evacuation helicopters. Sergeant Williams’s actions helped save the lives of four critically wounded Soldiers and prevented the lead element of the assault force from being overrun by the enemy.
It’s hard to imagine greater heroism in battle.
But don’t expect Sgt. Williams to go on and on about it..."

Image result for wikicommons images U.S. Ex-ambassador Marie YovanovitchOn Friday's radio program, award-winning investigative journalist John Solomon joined Glenn Beck to detail how Marie Yovanovitch, the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, obstructed investigations into potential corruption and interference by Democratic and Ukrainian officials in the 2016 U.S. election.
The Trump administration recalled Yovanovitch from her post in May. The whistleblower complaint at the center of the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump alleged that Yovanovitch was recalled because of claims made by former Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko.

A Climate Protester Just Glued Himself to the Top of an Airplane
"Climate activists from the global environmental group Extinction Rebellion are bringing their protest strategies to new heights.
In an unusual stunt, former Paralympian James Brown reportedly smuggled a tube of glue through London’s City Airport and then clambered onto the roof of a British Airways plane and stuck himself there using the glue.
...In the video, he asks why the UK government sanctions the expansion of airports around the country, while at the same time declaring that there is a climate emergency.
...The socio-political grassroots movement aims to use civil disobedience — and zero violence — to protest the breakdown of our climate, ecological collapse, and the loss of biodiversity..."

"...Does anyone believe that contemporary Americans could build another transcontinental railroad in six years?
Image result for President Ronald Reagan QuoteCalifornians tried to build a high-speed rail line.
But after more than a decade of government incompetence, lawsuits, cost overruns and constant bureaucratic squabbling, they have all but given up.
...Who were those giants of the 1960s responsible for building our interstate highway system?
...When California had to replace a quarter section of the earthquake-damaged San Francisco Bay Bridge, it turned into a near-disaster, with 11 years of acrimony, fighting, cost overruns...
...In inflation-adjusted dollars, we spent six times the money on one-quarter of the length of the bridge and required 13 agencies to grant approval.
In 1936, just one agency oversaw the entire bridge project.
California has not built a major dam in 40 years..."

"While the Left has the country distracted with their attempt to impeach Pres Trump, the situation on the border still remains dire.
The fact that new border fencing is going up is not a deterrence whatsoever to the hundreds, if not thousands, making their way through Mexico towards the US border.
...As you can see from this video from RT NOT Fox, CNN, MSNBC or any other US news outlet, the illegals are coming here unchallenged by authorities, it appears in a few shots Mexican Federale’s are assisting.
Let’s also be honest many making the trip in this video are clearly NOT from Mexico, Guatemala, Ecuador as they appear to be from South America (ie Brazil) and Africa..."

"PG&E Corp.'s decision to shut off power to more than two million Californians this week represents a new reality: It now plans to pull the plug as a desperation measure whenever its equipment threatens to spark destructive and potentially deadly wildfires.
...The Wall Street Journal detailed in April how PG&E intended to use the outages, known as public safety power shut-offs, to reduce wildfire risk, a strategy that carries consequences for medically vulnerable populations who rely on electric devices to survive, and businesses that could lose customers and inventory.
Such outages are unlikely to end soon because utilities are liable under California law for wildfire damage caused by their equipment, even if they aren't negligent.
That makes fires a serious threat to drive the companies into insolvency..."
