ICE: Chicago released previously-deported felon who went on to sexually assault toddler | Fox News:

According to a press release on Thursday, Puente had two felony convictions for forced-entry burglary and forgery.
Despite his background, Chicago declined ICE's June 2019 request to detain Puente -- raising more concerns about a jurisdiction already under fire for defying ICE. A CBS affiliate reported that Puente confessed to placing "the child on his lap while he was in a restroom stall, pulled off her pants, and covered her mouth when she started calling out 'daddy daddy.'"

An Obama Holdover in an Obscure Government Arm Helped Cause the Country’s Coronavirus Crisis | Frontpagemag

An Obama Holdover in an Obscure Government Arm Helped Cause the Country’s Coronavirus Crisis |

  • Who really decided to bring infected people to the United States?

Two months after the outbreak of the coronavirus, #TrumpVirus began trending on Twitter.
Why?
Because it’s the only chance that the Democrats have of winning back the White House in 2020.
Saddled with broken primaries whose nominee, after a possible brokered convention, will either be a Socialist who admires Communists, a senile lecher who admires young girls, or a billionaire who admires power, the coronavirus is a much more effective candidate than Sanders, Biden, or Bloomberg.
#TrumpVirus follows in the footsteps of #TrumpHurricane which attempted to blame a natural disaster and local corruption in Puerto Rico on President Trump.
And that just dusted off the smears and slanders of Hurricane Katrina and substituted Puerto Ricans for black people and Trump for Bush.
...The truth about disaster relief and pandemic management is that it hasn’t changed much between administrations.
The Bush administration dealt with SARS in much the same way that the Obama administration addressed swine flu.
And the Trump administration is doing most of the same things.
That’s because the actual decisions are being made by bureaucrats based on existing protocols..."

Think Trump is 'outrageous?' He's nothing compared to these presidents

Donald Trump, Woodrow Wilson, Lyndon B. Johnson and Franklin D. RooseveltThink Trump is 'outrageous?' He's nothing compared to these presidents
  • Unprecedented, unprecedented.
  • Everything is unprecedented.
  • Nothing like this has ever happened before.
  • Except it pretty much has.
"Whenever you see the word “unprecedented” in the media, you should ask yourself: Has this reporter ever read a history book?
Make the case against Trump if you want to, but if you pretend the sorts of things he does are without precedent, you simply make yourself look ignorant.
Virtually any presidency you examine is guilty of far worse acts than whatever you think is the worst thing Trump has ever done, from John Adams’ Alien and Sedition Acts...
Even Abraham Lincoln suspended habeas corpus and did nothing to stop his troops from shutting down newspapers they didn’t like.
...You say Trump is an unprecedented threat to civil liberties?
Woodrow Wilson’s administration threw people in jail for opposing his policy to join WWI the year after he campaigned on the slogan “He kept us out of war.”
A leading political figure of the day, Eugene V. Debs, was imprisoned and still behind bars when Wilson left office two years after the end of the war. (The administration of Warren G. Harding let him out).
Imagine Trump throwing, say, Beto O’Rourke in jail for opposing his Iran policy.
Wouldn’t that be more outrageous than anything he actually has done?...
Much here, read all.

Why Have The American People Decided To Throw Out Their Political Leaders And Start Over? | The Daily Caller

Why Have The American People Decided To Throw Out Their Political Leaders And Start Over? | The Daily Caller:

Now that Sen. Bernie Sanders is surging and a populist-left Sanders versus populist-right Trump race looks more and more likely, it might finally be time for America’s leadership class to start looking inward and asking what’s going on. People don’t throw out all their normal political leaders for a TV-host billionaire and a socialist who honeymooned in the Soviet Union when they are satisfied with the state of affairs in their country. Something’s going wrong for the American people. They are desperately searching for new political leaders who will shake things up.

Seattle needs $5,400 per taxpayer to get out of 'financial trench,' report finds | KOMO
"SEATTLE – Seattle would need $5,400 per taxpayer to dig itself out of a ‘financial trench’ and pay all of its bills.
That’s according to a new report that analyzed the fiscal health of the nation’s largest 75 cities.
The Emerald City ranks the 44th worst and earned a “D” grade for its financial health.
...That financial burden equates to $5,400 per Seattle taxpayer.
Meaning, if retirement benefits and other costs aren’t reduced, taxpayers will have to pay that amount in future taxes without receiving those benefits..."

What We Know About the Coronavirus, From Symptoms to Who Is at Risk - WSJ
"Scientists and public-health officials are learning more about the new coronavirus behind an epidemic that has reached dozens of countries
We are updating our questions and answers regularly to keep up with their findings.
Here is what they know so far, and how you can minimize your risk.

THE LATEST ON THE CORONAVIRUS

  • The global death toll is now about 3,000—China’s death toll as of Saturday was 2,870
  • U.S., Australia and Thailand report their first coronavirus deaths
  • Armenia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Ecuador and Qatar each reported their first infections over the weekend
  • Japan ran a slimmed-down marathon in Tokyo to protect the Olympics from the threat of the epidemic
What is a coronavirus?
This virus belongs to a family of viruses known as coronaviruses. Named for the crown-like spikes on their surfaces, they infect mostly bats, pigs and small mammals. But they mutate easily and can jump from animals to humans, and from one human to another. In recent years, they have become a growing player in infectious-disease outbreaks world-wide.
Seven strains are known to infect humans, including this new virus, causing illnesses in the respiratory tract. Four of those strains cause common colds. Two others, by contrast, rank among the deadliest of human infections: severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS, and Middle East respiratory syndrome, or MERS.
This new virus is called severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, or Sars-CoV-2. The disease it causes is called Covid-19. (The number stands for 2019, the year it emerged.)
What are the symptoms of the illness and how do you know if you have it?
Image result for schumer coronavirus hysteraThe virus infects the lower respiratory tract.
Patients initially develop a fever, cough and aches, and can progress to shortness of breath and complications from pneumonia, according to case reports.
They might develop nausea, with vomiting and diarrhea.
Some become only mildly ill, or are infected but don’t get sick.
Others are mildly ill for a few days, then rapidly develop more severe symptoms of pneumonia..."

"Luckily they did not have the coronavirus," he said. "But this is a wake-up call."
Border Patrol personnel have been handed respirators and told to isolate the large number of Chinese migrants who are continuing to illegally enter the United States.
The last thing that the border states need are infected illegal aliens coming through, blending into the population, and spreading the disease to health care workers, and in poor neighborhoods.
But that’s exactly what the Democrats seem to want.
Senator Elizabeth Warren announced that she was introducing a plan to redirect money from the border wall to fighting the coronavirus.
...every Democrat 2020 candidate wants to dismantle border security and enable the rapid entry of migrants into the United States.
That means putting Americans at risk, not just at the border, but also at airports and seaports..."
