Nasdaq Seeks Board-Diversity Rule That Most Listed Firms Don’t Meet
"Nasdaq Inc. is pushing to require the thousands of companies listed on its stock exchange to include women, racial minorities and LGBT individuals on their boards, in what would be one of the most forceful moves yet to bring greater diversity to U.S. corporations.
The exchange operator filed a proposal with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday that would require listed companies to have at least one woman on their boards, in addition to a director who is a racial minority or one who self-identifies as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer.
Companies that don’t meet the standard would be required to justify their decision to remain listed on Nasdaq...Read all.

Hysteria? Ummm, that's only 2000 patients per state. 16 per hospital. Math is hard.-----COVID-19: Hospitalizations near 100,000; doctors, nurses, beds needed

USA TODAY
--COVID-19: Hospitalizations near 100,000; doctors, nurses, beds needed
"The number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients nationwide stood on the brink of 100,000 Wednesday, an alarming statistic fueling enormous strain on the health care system and its brave but beleaguered workers.
Some experts said the total, compiled by the COVID Tracking Project, could soon double.
Robert Glatter, an emergency room physician at New York City's Lenox Hill Hospital, said the country has reached a "dangerous inflection point."
"I wouldn’t be surprised if we stand at 200,000 people hospitalized in the next month," Glatter told USA TODAY.
"Explosive growth of the virus has the potential to overrun our ability to provide care. Not only for patients with COVID-19 but also for basic medical conditions."
Many hospitals will be forced to suspend elective surgeries and other routine operations, set up temporary field hospitals and stretch staff to the limit, experts said...Read all. (USA has 6210 hospitals)

Yes, This Makes Perfect Sense: Cities All Over America Are Slashing Police Budgets As Crime Rates Soar

Yes, This Makes Perfect Sense: Cities All Over America Are Slashing Police Budgets As Crime Rates Soar
"If violent crime rates are surging, should the police get more funding or less funding?
You would think that the answer should be obvious, but unfortunately major cities all over the nation are choosing to significantly reduce police budgets right now.
...It is so sad to watch so many of our once great cities degenerate into crime-ridden, gang-infested war zones, and the fact that our economy is crumbling so rapidly is just going to make things even worse...
  • Meanwhile, Seattle had seen 55 murders this year as of Monday, the highest level since at least 2008, the last year of data available. The troubled city is also suffering a spike in violent crime, with 8,418 burglary incidents, up from to 7,634 last year, according to police.
  • In New Orleans, police funding is being reduced by 11 million dollars and a new furlough policy is causing many officers to leave the force entirely…Meanwhile, homicides are up 60 percent this year, and carjackings are up “more than 100 percent”…
  • In Minneapolis, the politicians are still squabbling about how much they want to take out of the police budget…Why they would want to take any money away from the police is a mystery, because carjackings in the city are up a whopping 537 percent in 2020…
  • In Los Angeles, the police budget was slashed by 150 million dollars this year...Read all!

Harvard Study Shows the Dangers of Early School Enrollment | Intellectual Takeout

Harvard Study Shows the Dangers of Early School Enrollment | Intellectual Takeout
"Every parent knows the difference a year makes in the development and maturity of a young child.
A one-year-old is barely walking while a two-year-old gleefully sprints away from you.
A four-year-old is always moving, always imagining, always asking why, while a five-year-old may start to sit and listen for longer stretches.
Children haven’t changed, but our expectations of their behavior have.
In just one generation, children are going to school at younger and younger ages, and are spending more time in school than ever before.
They are increasingly required to learn academic content at an early age that may be well above their developmental capability.
  • In 1998, 31 percent of teachers expected children to learn to read in kindergarten.
  • In 2010, 80 percent of teachers expected this.
Now, children are expected to read in kindergarten and to become proficient readers soon after, despite research showing that pushing early literacy can do more harm than good.
..."When children have educational experiences that are not geared to their developmental level or in tune with their learning needs and cultures, it can cause them great harm, including feelings of inadequacy, anxiety and confusion..."...Read all.

Doctors warn CDC to tell public about side effects of COVID vaccines, number of doses needed

Doctors warn CDC to tell public about side effects of COVID vaccines, number of doses needed

The first COVID-19 vaccines might be around the corner, but the side effects won't be a walk in the park, doctors say. That could be a problem given that both of the first vaccines likely to arrive on the market require doses to be given twice. This isn't unusual for a vaccine, but it presents a logistical challenge for an inoculation intended to stop a pandemic.

UN Climate Agency Slapped With Corruption Allegations | Zero Hedge

"The Financial Times recently acquired a draft report by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) of audit and investigations, outlining how "fraud and corruption" have been linked to the multibillion-dollar Global Environment Facility (GEF).

FT examined the draft report which described "financial misstatements" that were discovered across UNDP's portfolio of GEF-funded projects around the world.

GEF was set up in the early 1990s with the World Bank to combat climate change.

Its main objectives have been to help fight environmental challenges such as deforestation, species preservation, and pollution control. In recent years, GEF has become an independent organization with more than $21 billion dispersed in 170 countries, including $7 billion in projects managed by UNDP...Read all.

“You are Racist” Classes Will Start Soon Under Democrat Rule
  • Over the Thanksgiving weekend, my liberal granddaughter came to visit and made it clear that she thinks Trump and his supporters are racist.
"...When I asked her for even one example of why Trump was racist, she also had no answer. She said to Google it.
She has no real information – no facts to debate. ,,,She is proof that the brainwashing of our youth by the democrats is going well.
Determined to indoctrinate the rest of the country, the democrats are all-in on teaching critical race theory and how the white people in America are all racist and have white privilege.
,,,Recently, a letter was signed by 46 higher education groups in the American Council on Education and sent to Biden asking him to reverse Trump’s executive order against critical race theory and other policies they view to be racist, sexist and personally offensive.
,,,And now we have New Jersey legislators who seem to be in a hurry and have already decided that they don’t want to wait to see who’s going to be president.
They have voted on a bill and passed “social justice” education for their public schools...Read all.

John Hopkins Publishes Shocking Study Calling COVID Overrated, Then Deletes It For Some Reason - Louder With Crowder

John Hopkins published a shocking study over the past few days. If you were living life right, you were too busy enjoying time with family to notice. The study challenges the accuracy of the COVID death count. Yes, the same John Hopkins whose death count is the gold standard for our panic porn addicted media. The study needs to be seen to be believed. Take every LwC segment on COVID, transcribe them, and submit it for peer review. That's how the study reads. We've even done a Change My Mind on the subject. Here's a little taste:

IATA In Final Stages Of Coronavirus Vaccine/Testing 'Passport' Development:
"The idea of a travel testing/vaccination passport also ties into a recent interview with Qantas CEO Alan Joyce, where he said that the airline is looking at ways of amending its terms and conditions so that travelers will one day be required to prove that they are vaccinated before boarding a Qantas aircraft.
IATA hopes that they can work with governments, airlines, labs and the travelers themselves in order to provide end-to-end verifiable data via their “digital passport”...Read all.

Alternative social-media platforms seen as dangerous, ‘anti-government’ for allowing users to post ‘conspiracy theories’ about election fraud

A threat to state-sponsored Facebook and Twitter?--LeoHohmann.com exclusive

..The federally funded Orange County Intelligence Assessment Center sent an email alert last week to California law enforcement agencies warning them about the growth of alternative social media sites Parler, MeWe and Gab that cater to conservative Americans...

The Orange County center quoted from a recent USA Today article critical of Parler, MeWe and Gab for allowing conservatives to communicate and organize on their platforms free of censorship.

In an email sent Nov. 18 to California law enforcement agencies, the federal center in Orange County highlighted in yellow marker a portion of a USA Today article that bemoans the rapid growth of Parler, MeWe and Gab, which are “gaining momentum with a promise not to censor their users for behavior that might violate the policies of their rivals.”

The federal fusion center also highlighted the following passage from the USA Today article which seemed particularly worried about Americans posting “false claims of election fraud” in the 2020 presidential election...

“But much like the social media site Gab, Parler has quickly attracted the extremist crowd in addition to self-proclaimed center-right conservatives… Groups from the far-right Proud Boys, which includes large numbers of white supremacists, to heavily armed anti-government militias have gathered on the site to spread conspiracy theories, racist memes and false claims of election fraud.”...Read all.

Report: Over a Quarter of Small Businesses in New York and New Jersey Closed This Year

Over a quarter of small businesses in New York and New Jersey, areas hit hardest by the Chinese coronavirus pandemic, have not reopened this year, according to a report from a Harvard-run database.

The database, TrackTheRecovery.org, revealed that 27.8 percent of small businesses in New York have not reopened following the mass shutdowns that occurred in the state this year, as of November 16. Even more businesses remained closed in New Jersey — 31.2 percent.
