"“Media Bounces Back From All-Time Low,” the headline screamed.
Only the media could describe a 4 percent shift in the public’s attitude as a “bounce” on the question of confidence in the media’s accuracy. At best it was a blip. At worse it was within the margin of error and therefore meaningless.
Get this. Last year 40 percent said they trusted the media - which was an all time low. Now, as if by some miracle, the number “bounced” to 44 percent.
Pop the cork on the champagne bottles. The media is back.
What a total hoot."
