Texas State University’s student senate recently held an “emergency meeting” to vote on a resolution calling on the school to ban its police department. The resolution was authored by one student senator who was arrested last week during an incident on campus involving the assault of a student wearing a MAGA hat, but appears to have not passed a student senate vote.

Theodore White - Deep Global Cooling: 2020s, 2030s & 2040s
No photo description available."The weather of global cooling continues to makes it deadly mark on regions around the world.
Observe that there has been increased cloudiness with more precipitation over recent years.
As we are in the first phase of a three decade-long climate of global cooling under the Sun's Grand Minimum, I urge people to stay alert and seek safer regions to reside because worse is to come.
  • By May 5, 2019, the record-breaking floods in the American Midwest has killed four more people.
  • In the state of Iowa, the Mississippi River swelled 23 feet in the city of Davenport. It broke a record set during the Great Flood of 1993.
  • Floodwaters also swamped communities farther south in Burlington.
  • To the north, in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, flash floods submerged cars and families were forced to evacuate their homes.
...'HEAVY RAINS & FLOODS'
The greatest threat from global cooling, as I've always forecasted - is from torrential rain and floods - both urban and rural.
Understand that ice ages like the Maunder and Dalton Minimums saw populations experience extreme changes in the climate and weather.
Extreme weather happens because of the Sun's weakened solar winds and reduced magnetic field that affects the Earth's jet streams..."

End Hospitals’ Right to a Blank Check for Emergency Care | Economics21

See the source imageEnd Hospitals’ Right to a Blank Check for Emergency Care | Economics21
"Emergency medical care is an exception to the general principle of market exchange, whereby services are voluntarily bought and sold, with sellers competing on price.
Under federal law, hospitals are required to treat patients that arrive needing emergency medical treatment, regardless of their ability to pay—but allowed to subsequently charge whatever they wish.
In recent years, medical providers have increasingly exploited this arrangement by threatening exorbitant charges for out-of-network emergency care in order to force insurers to agree to generous reimbursement terms across the board.
Patients have frequently been caught in the crossfire, and forced to pay large “surprise bills” for emergency care by hospitals or doctors who remain out of network..."

The Unintended Consequences of "Free" College - Foundation for Economic Education

The Unintended Consequences of "Free" College - Foundation for Economic Education:
"...Unintended Consequences
Following President Obama’s lead, there has been a growing movement among progressives to make community college “free.”
This has percolated all the way up to most of the candidates running for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020.
...In the end, regardless of jurisdiction, it’s the smallest minority that gets stuck with the bill: the individual taxpayer.
...Beyond the budgetary considerations, there’s also the moral hazard of which to be mindful.
When a good or service is free, a consumer tends to take less ownership of it.
...Some students would feel no pressure to simply walk away if it was “too hard,” nevermind the modest 2.0 GPA requirement.
...Affordability is not the culprit here.
Anyone above the “lower rungs of the economic ladder” who wants to go to a community college will sacrifice purchases that bring them short-term pleasure in order to improve their future.
This is not a scenario lacking in real-life examples.
In The Law, 19th-century French economist Frederic Bastiat said of such activism that
"the law has only two alternatives: permit … teaching-and-learning to operate freely … or … [take] from some … to instruct others, without charge. But in the second case, the law commits legal plunder by violating liberty and property..."'

Sultan Knish: The Green New Deal Comes to New York

  • A ban on skyscrapers.
  • Wind turbines in the middle of one of the most overcrowded and noisiest cities on earth.
  • Billions in building renovation costs.
  • Stopping natural gas.
  • Shutting down all the power plants.

"The Green New Deal is coming to New York City.
“We are going to ban the glass and steel skyscrapers which are inefficient,” Mayor Bill de Blasio announced on MSNBC.
That was the first warning most New Yorkers got of what their radical city government had wrought.
...Bill de Blasio claimed that the city would switch completely to ‘renewables’ in only 5 years.
That would be a spectacular achievement since neither solar nor wind energy work all that well in New York..."

Maybe It's Time To Cut The Federal Government In Half

Maybe It's Time To Cut The Federal Government In Half:
"I think the time is coming for an idea that is so old that it is new again: cutting the Federal government in half.
The idea is: cancel all Federal welfare-type programs, including all means-tested welfare programs (apparently there are over 150 of them), all healthcare-related programs including Medicare and Medicaid, all education-related, arts-related and housing-related programs, and anything else of this sort -- in short, most everything except for the military, national parks, and maybe some public works.
Social Security could eventually be reformed to a system of private retirement accounts, known as a "provident fund" system and in use today in over thirty countries..."
