A worthy read!-----How Evil is normalised - UnHerd

It is not enough to avert one’s eyes - Jacob Howland
It’s been a dark and depressing month.
One awful week stands out.
  • On 5 September, the Charlotte Area Transit System released a video of the murder of Iryna Zarutska on a city train. The images of Zarutska’s cowled murderer, towering over her from behind as he plunged the knife, and of the alarmed and pleading look she gave him after his first strike, are unforgettable.
  • The next day, Israel made publicly available 22 minutes of horrific footage, much of it recorded by Hamas terrorists, from the 47-minute documentary shown in private screenings to journalists and diplomats after the October 7 pogrom.
  • Then, three days later, Charlie Kirk was assassinated in front of his wife and child..
One common denominator in all of these events was the impulse to explain or “contextualise” them in ways that minimise their horror.
  • After 9/11, for instance, I heard a Muslim student say that the hijackers just wanted to “start a conversation” with the West.
  • After 10/7, an expert on sexual violence excused her public silence about the rape and torture of Israeli women because, she told me, such atrocities are “happening every day” around the globe.
  • The Charlotte mayor responded to the murder of Zarutska, an utterly innocent victim, by calling for “compassion” for homeless criminals like the man who stabbed her...
Whatever else all this might mean, these responses serve to distract us from addressing the real issue: the problem of Evil...

'TrumpRx': President's latest deal predicted to cut prescription drug costs for Americans * WorldNetDaily * by Bob Unruh

The report said, "Increasing access to direct-to-consumer prescription plans was a central pillar of Trump's "most favored nation" executive order in May, which was intended to reduce U.S. drug prices in parity with other developed countries." Trump's goal was triggered by the fact Americans pay three times more for brand name prescriptions than do people in other developed countries, the White House has revealed.

Gotta wonder!

Your media of choice neglect to tell this??

Oh, the Suffering!

Have you heard how young people suffer now? - John Stossel
  • One popular meme says when baby boomers like me were young, "A family could own a home, a car and send their kids to college, all on one income."
"That's a fantasy," says economist Norbert Michel. "We are much better off than we were."...
  • Yes, homes cost more now, but census data show more Americans own their homes now than when I was a kid. And today's homes are much bigger and twice as likely to have central air, dishwashers, garbage disposals, etc...
  • Today, Americans actually spend a smaller percentage of our money on food, clothing and housing than we used to, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics survey data...
  • Few people flew places for vacation. They didn't have the money, and flying cost much more. Adjusted for inflation, a cross-country flight cost $1,000. Now it's about $300."People did not just go on vacation," says Michel, "did not fly all across the country."
But the popular narrative circulates.
It's part of progressives' campaign for socialism.
They tell young people: Not only does capitalism foster greed, inequality, etc., but it doesn't even deliver the goods...

EVERY prediction has been wrong. Yet so many still getting rich and powerful over the lies!

The 'Chosen Family' Trope Cheapens Relationships

The danger of the ‘chosen family’ trend is not that it elevates profound friendships, but that it cheapens or even demonizes true familial relationships. - Catherine Gripp
  • Three men in a polyamorous relationship in Québec, Canada made recent headlines when they legally adopted a three-year-old girl...
While two of the men are officially considered her parents, the third is pursuing recognition as a third parent, which a 2025 ruling from the Québec superior court reportedly could enable him to gain.

  • Closer to home, California’s “Change of Name and Gender and Sex Identifier Act signed by Gov. Newsome, D-CA last month added yet another brick to the Babel-like tower of legislation undermining parental agency and authority. The sunshine state’s recent legislation limits and undermines parents’ authority to object to children legally changing their name to match their perceived “gender identity.”...

September 29, 2016 - Political Correctness: Word Police Want More Than Your Words - Intellectual Takeout

Engaging in political discussion on Facebook is never a good idea. - Jon Miltimore
  • But when a dear friend of mine began clogging my news feed with stories alleging the real estate mogul currently running for president rapes children, I couldn’t resist.
I pointed out to my friend, a bright and successful woman, that such stories are little better than the conspiracy theories that still permeate the right wing fever swamps, which allege that his opponent had Vince Foster killed.
“You know better,” I wrote. “Trump just has you wound up.”
  • She admitted she was wound up. But she then proceeded to explain that it was “borderline sexist” to say so.
I was taken aback...

It's true!

Hegseth vows to restore warrior ethos and end woke military | Blaze Media

In a highly anticipated in-person speech to nearly every general and admiral in the U.S. military, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth laid down his marker: the warrior ethos must once again define America’s armed forces. A great nation needs a great military. That is his aim.

The audience mattered. Senior officers have lived for decades under politicized leadership that drained readiness and morale.

Send in the DOGE boys!-----A government shutdown isn't really a shutdown. Most federal employees are still working and will get paid.

The federal government continues paying its biggest bills during a shutdown, and hundreds of thousands of federal employees get a belatedly paid vacation. - Jack Nicastro
Some federal services and agencies might be put on hold, but the vast majority of the federal government, including all of its mandatory wealth transfers and obligatory payments, will remain unaffected.
During the shutdown, agencies that don't fund themselves or haven't received additional funding via a standalone bill must furlough non-excepted employees and stop their non-essential operations...

Surgeon: Medicine Is Lost in the Wilderness - Intellectual Takeout

I once was proud of my profession. - Ross Gonnering
There were warning signals, to be sure...
The policy of medicine gradually became the politics of medicine.
And as is often the case, where there is politics there is also corruption...
  • I saw how money, power and flattery could cause physicians to shade their recommendations...
We reached a point where, relating to COVID, attempts to treat disease were not just ignored but penalized...
However, in COVID, Informed Consent was criminalized…but only for that disease.
  • Those who still felt an obligation to their patients were, and continue to be, vilified, slandered, fired from their position, and in some cases, prosecuted.
If a physician from even 10 years ago would look at the contents of most of our medical journals today, I am sure he or she would think they were reading fiction.
These are the four articles that make up the Viewpoint section of the September 19, 2023 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association.

Fact Checking Trump’s Climate Claims - I & I Editorial Board

Editor’s note: We expect that Google’s AdSense will strip ads from this page, saying the editorial contains “unreliable and harmful claims.”
It’s done that to us before, many times...
President Donald Trump spoke at the United Nations last week in an address that the world needed to hear.
It was of course picked apart, particularly his claims about global warming.
  • He twisted facts and made “false claims,” say the gatekeepers of the Great Climate Narrative.
Is this so?
Let’s look:
  • Trump called the global warming scare a “hoax.” Not a word we would use, but he’s closer to the truth than the climatistas. It’s obvious to those with open minds that the global warming tale is the product of academic fraud, gross exaggerations, and an effort to lie to the public to move opinion and force politics into what should be a scientific debate.
  • Trump said renewable energy sources “don’t work,” are “too expensive” and a “joke.” They work, but not as advertised. Renewables are unreliable and they are far too costly (without taxpayer-funded subsidies they’re dead). “Joke” is another word we wouldn’t use, because the damage done by the blind drive to net zero emissions is not funny.
  • “All of these predictions made by the United Nations and many others, often for bad reasons, were wrong,” Trump said. “They were made by stupid people.” They are not stupid. But they are conniving, deceitful, shameless, wrong and vicious. They are also dangerous (see the point above).
  • Trump called the global warming account “the greatest con job perpetrated by the world.”...

FACT-CHECK: Yes, US taxpayers fund health care for illegal aliens | Blaze Media

The Congressional Budget Office found in October 2024 that the Biden administration had cost state and federal taxpayers $16.2 billion to cover Medicaid emergency services for illegal aliens since taking office. Paul Winfree, president and CEO of the Economic Policy Innovation Center, told Fox News Digital in March that California has been "exploiting an existing loophole within law" to use billions of dollars in reimbursements from the federal government to provide illegal immigrants with Medicaid.

$2,200,000,000 solar farm in California desert switched off after failure

Experts believe at least 6,000 birds die each year after flying into the concentrated sunlight - Joe Yates
A $2 billion solar farm project to combat climate change has ended in disaster, after officials were forced to pull the plug on the experiment.
After splashing $2.2 billion on the Ivanpah Solar Power Facility, which is located in California’s Mojave Desert, it was hoped that the state would be able to cash in on the money it saved that would have been spent on fossil fuels...
Construction started back in 2010, and four years later it was complete, but now 12 years on, it is earmarked for closure next year, in 2026...
Despite its ambition, Ivanpah never produced the energy it promised, and quite incredibly, it also relied on natural gas to stay running - hardly the green solution it claimed to be...
