"Twenty-five vehicles crashed in the first accident just after 1 p.m. near the Silverthorne exit as heavy snowfall collected on the roads and limited visibility.
The second accident occurred just hours later, when 29 vehicles piled up on the eastbound lanes of I-70 between the two Frisco exits. "
We were smack dab in the middle of the 2nd group of crashes.
Only about an hour of stoppage and our exit was next so we ere lucky.
Our Holiday Inn is next to a big open area where they are dumping the crashed vehicles........ cool!

Why Teens Are Tiring of Facebook
HARDOCP - Why Teens Are Tiring of Facebook
"Why Teens Are Tiring of Facebook
Nothing lasts forever and so it goes for Facebook.
Not that Facebook is suffering from a mass exodus of its teen-centric audience, but the signs are there that teens are turning from Facebook to smaller, simpler and less regulated sites.
Once a site becomes mainstream, teens will be the first to look for alternative sites to meet with their friends."

Are You Living in a Fourth Amendment Exclusion Zone?
"It all started in 2008, when the DHS declared that certain ‘border control agents’ could search the electronic belongings of individuals without suspicion — let alone a warrant.
Bypassing the rights provided by the Constitutional to every citizen of the United States, the DHS immediately came under fire for the policy.
The response?
The DHS promised to have the policy reviewed within 120 days.
The catch?
The review was done two years late and by their own review panel known as the Civil Liberties Impact division.
Absent of any independent input in their secretive review, the DHS published a brief document stating that the suspicionless search policy was perfectly reasonable.
Laptops, cell phones, camcorders, and all other gadgets were open game for the DHS within the ‘borders’ of the country."

Dry-practice is extremely beneficial from the aspect of body mechanics and training neuromuscular pathways. However, as every fifteen year old boy knows, there is no actual substitute for the real thing.
When you hit the range to practice, you should first have a plan.
If your plan is simply to shoot up a hundred rounds, that’s little more than noise-generation and empty brass creation.
A couple of years ago I developed a simple base-line training or practice drill that I call the One Box Workout™."

Taxpayer-Supported Fisker Looking to China, Like A123 | Somewhat Reasonable
"The prospect that U.S. taxpayer-supported technology and business stimulation would end up in the hands of its top economic rival was too much (again) for Republican Sens. Charles Grassley (Iowa) and John Thune (South Dakota) to remain silent.
Both sharply criticized the Obama administration over its poor judgment, lack of oversight and seeming indifference towards A123’s critical battery technology going to Wanxiang, and now are speaking up about the fate of Fisker."

Big Business Support for Minimum Wage Hikes
Big Business Support for Minimum Wage Hikes [Michigan Capitol Confidential]
"But minimum wage workers generally work for smaller, locally owned operations.
These jobs tend to be temporary and help get low-skilled and first-time workers into the workforce.
Many readers have undoubtedly started out with a similar experience.
So while a higher mandated minimum would barely touch larger corporations, it would certainly hurt their small business competition.
Big business loves big government. "

They're self-inflicted wounds, and they didn't have to happen.
Congress can stop all of this right away -- and pursue a balanced approach to deficit reduction.
That's what the vast majority of Americans want, and yesterday, more than 100,000 Americans called on Congress to be reasonable about the budget.

Legislators Chip Away at Proposal A Property Tax Limits
Legislators Chip Away at Proposal A Property Tax Limits [Michigan Capitol Confidential]
"Not surprisingly, Rep. McCready highlights the security provision of his bill, but also argues it will save taxpayer money by giving local citizens an option that doesn't put them in debt for technology.
"A millage for school security or technology will be subject to a vote of the residents — the same as it has always been," he said.
"Bond proposals create future debt.
A sinking fund millage raises X amount each year without borrowing and paying interest."
However, this sidesteps the real issue of adding technology to the allowable uses of sinking funds that have already been approved by voters for more limited purposes — in effect a bait-and-switch.
It also raises the issue of whether technology (mostly computers and software) are long-lived capital assets that justify incurring long-term taxpayer debt."
