..."In talks I give now, I always make sure people know that no extra CO2 was used to come up with my ideas. 

It’s done to get a laugh, the point being the forecast does not take CO2 into account.

I also stated I hoped that, if my ideas had merit, it would wake people up to the folly of the statements being made when the earth was still in a warming phase.

I introduced publicly on the O'Reilly Factor the Triple Crown of Cooling, which is now The Grand Slam of Climate.

It was also opined that, in the past, when these cyclical shifts occurred, there were local pickups of what is now being called extreme weather. 

But it is nothing out of the ordinary in the big picture, no sign of an appending atmospheric apocalypse, warm or cold. It’s nothing that is not well within the realm of what nature does. 

...So here we are, being told CO2 is responsible for global warming — climate change, the term they are now using,is a natural event which only people that claim humans are driving them deny – and events perfectly natural and to a large degree fairly predictable simply by understanding what went on before. 

What we have to ask these people in the face of the actual geological record that shows CO2 and temperatures is: Why is it CO2 now, but not before?
Anyone see any linkage between CO2 and temperatures?

Why would the increase of one molecule of CO2 out of every 10,000 molecules of air over a 100-year period suddenly pick now, at 400 ppm, to overcome the sun, oceans, stochastic events and the design of the system, including the physical properties of CO2 in relation to the other greenhouse gases, of which it’s only 1%?
The answer below I think makes as much sense as the explanations I am seeing out there:
Could it be there is a CO2 fairy waving its magic wand? 

While CO2 has little to do with actual weather and climate, as shown by past events, both recent and in the geological time scale, apparently it can affect people who believe it does.

WARREN, MI -- An ideological battle surrounding religion, free speech and equal access to public property led to a $100,000 judgment against Warren and its mayor, James R. Fouts.

Douglas Marshall, a Warren resident, couldn't help but notice the Christian "prayer station" he passed every time he entered the atrium at Warren's City Hall to pay water bills, property taxes or turn in an absentee ballot.

It stood in stark contrast to his "deeply and sincerely" held belief in "reason and free thought as an alternative" to God, his lawsuit says.

The prayer station, operated by volunteers for the Pentecostal Tabernacle Church of Warren since 2009, distributes religious literature, discusses theology and prays with passersby, the federal complaint says.

Marshall's lawsuit said he wanted to open a similar station of his own in the City Hall atrium, a "reason station," devoted to passing out literature about atheism and engaging the public in "philosophical discussions."

The complaint was filed jointly by the Freedom from Religion Foundation, American Civil Liberties Union and Americans United for Separation of Church and State.

The Madison, Wis.-based Freedom from Religion Foundation, dedicated to protecting "the fundamental constitutional principle of separation of church and state," has tangled with Warren's government before.

...Federal Magistrate Judge Michael Hluchaniuk for the Eastern District of Michigan U.S. District Court, on Feb. 23 ordered Marshall's reason station "be allowed to operate on terms not less favorable than the terms granted to the 'Prayer Station' currently allowed in the atrium space."

He also fined the city $100,000 for costs, damages and attorney fees..."

Instead, Muslims are attacking Lacy, because apparently the indignity of a suicide bomber being covered in pig blood is too much for them.

Lacy is a Tampa inventor who had traveled extensively in the Middle East and had knew how strongly Muslims felt about pig blood.

Having a eureka moment, Lacy created a “system for protecting against terrorist and illegal invasion” that would place a device clearly marked as containing pig blood in an area where a suicide bomber might be tempted to detonate a device.

”It will keep suicide bombers from blowing themselves up near the container of pig blood because they believe that they would be guaranteed not to go to heaven,” Lacy said.

...Fiyaz Mughal, director of Faith Matters, said that the invention had “been created by someone who seeks to humiliate specific faiths.”
“The patent is particularly troubling if used against Jews or Muslims, because it would be deeply offensive and insulting to their faith and beliefs,” the director of the interfaith organization said (H/T Right Wing News).

...If one doesn’t want to enter into an establishment that has such devices deployed, one doesn’t have to. 

However, let’s not decry it because Muslims or Jews might be “offended” by it.

And, after all, if it stops the violence it’s meant to stop, shouldn’t Muslims be happy?"

The University of Iowa removed an anti-racist statue from campusshortly after it was erected because several students mistook it for aracist statue. 
Some thought it heralded a return of the KKK.

Some students were apparently so traumatized they couldn’t focus on coursework – and the school pressured faculty to grant their extension requests, The Gazette reports:

The next day, Vice President for Student Life Tom Rocklin sent an email mentioning social media buzz around “extensions for students affected by current and recent events” and said Helena Dettmer, associate dean for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, had advised faculty to approve it. Rocklin also provided a contact in the Dean of Students Office for others “who need accommodations” to help them “sort through options and sometimes advocate on their behalf.”

College of Liberal Arts and Sciences policy states students can make up exams missed due to illness, religious obligations, authorized university activities, or unavoidable circumstances. Such circumstances could include jury duty, family tragedy, or a car accident, according to the policy.

UI spokeswoman Beck said, “It is up to individual faculty members to determine if an academic accommodation should be made.”

The Associated Students of University of California, Irvine (ASUCI) have decided that the American flag is “offensive” and has now banned Old Glory from the “inclusive space” on campus.

Once again we see the idiocy, anti-Americanism and loathing for the USA that our colleges are teaching our kids.

The bill, R50-70, was authored by Social Ecology Representative Matthew Guevara, and accuses all flags, especially, the American flag, of being “symbols of patriotism or weapons for nationalism.”

“[F]lags construct paradigms of conformity and sets [sic] homogenized standards for others to obtain which in this country typically are idolized as freedom, equality, and democracy.”

The legislation argues that flags may be interpreted differently; the American flag, for example, can represent “American exceptionalism and superiority,” as well as oppression.

“[T]he American flag has been flown in instances of colonialism and imperialism,” the bill continues, arguing that “symbolism has negative and positive aspects that are interpreted differently by individuals.”

The anti-flag hanging bill adds that free speech, such as flags in inclusive spaces, can be interpreted as hate speech...

That brings an estimated project cost of $134 million.
...The agreement was signed even though the House never approved the bill-it couldn't get through lameduck.
Merit, eh?

The team’s mission, code-named Operation Neptune Spear, had two primary objectives: capture or kill Osama bin Laden and gather as much intelligence as possible about the al Qaeda leader and his network.
A bullet to bin Laden’s head accomplished the first; the quick work of the Sensitive Site Exploitation team accomplished the second.
It was quite a haul: 10 hard drives, nearly 100 thumb drives and a dozen cellphones.
There were DVDs, audio and video tapes, data cards, reams of handwritten materials, newspapers and magazines.
At a Pentagon briefing days after the raid, a senior military intelligence official described it as “the single largest collection of senior terrorist materials ever.”
...But it is what happened next that is truly stunning: nothing. The analysis of the materials—the “document exploitation,” in the parlance of intelligence professionals—came to an abrupt stop. According to five senior U.S. intelligence officials, the documents sat largely untouched for months—perhaps as long as a year.
...The next day, on May 1, 2012, Mr. Obama made a bold claim: “The goal that I set—to defeat al Qaeda and deny it a chance to rebuild—is now within our reach.”

After a pitched bureaucratic battle, a small team of analysts from the Defense Intelligence Agency and Centcom was given time-limited, read-only access to the documents. 
The DIA team began producing analyses reflecting what they were seeing in the documents.
At precisely the time Mr. Obama was campaigning on the imminent death of al Qaeda, those with access to the bin Laden documents were seeing, in bin Laden’s own words, that the opposite was true. Says Lt. Gen. Flynn: 
“By that time, they probably had grown by about—I’d say close to doubling by that time. 
And we knew that.”
This wasn’t what the Obama White House wanted to hear. 
So the administration cut off DIA access to the documents and instructed DIA officials to stop producing analyses based on them.

"MIDLAND, MI -- A Midland County woman's gym membership was canceled after she refused to stop telling fellow gym members "a man" was using the woman's locker room.
Yvette Cormier said the incident occurred Saturday, Feb. 28, when she entered the women's locker room at the Planet Fitness location at 701 Joe Mann Boulevard in Midland.
"I was blocked, because a man was standing there," Cormier said. "It freaked me out because, why is a man in here?"
Cormier said an employee at the front desk told her that the individual identifies as a woman. 
After taking her complaints to Planet Fitness' corporate office, Cormier said she was told that the gym was a "no judgement zone" and they would not tell the individual in question to stay out of the women's locker room.
The person has not been identified.
The slogan "Judgement Free Zone" is regularly used by Planet Fitness.
A statement released by McCall Gosselin, public relations director for Planet Fitness, states that members can use the locker room corresponding with their personal gender identity.
...Cormier said she then got a call from Planet Fitness' corporate office telling her that she was violating their "no judgement" policy. 
She says they asked if she was going to stop talking to other women in the locker room and she said she would not.
Cormier said the representative told her she was no longer welcome at the gym.
The statement released by McCall confirms that Cormier's actions led to the cancellation of her membership, though the statement does not go into details of the situation."

There’s a winter storm afoot, and places like New York City are expected to get hit with several inches of snow Thursday.

It’s hard to imagine that just 30 years ago, government scientists were predicting that global warming would make New York City resemble Daytona Beach, Florida — which does not get snow.

In 1985, the New York Times reported that ‘[f]ederal climate experts have suggested that within a century the greenhouse effect could turn New York City into something with the climate of Daytona Beach, Fla.”

“Beginning in a decade or two, scientists expect the warming of the atmosphere to melt the polar icecaps, raising the level of the seas, flooding coastal areas, eroding the shores and sending salt water far into fresh-water estuaries,” the Times reported. “Storm patterns will change, drying out some areas, swamping others and generally throwing agriculture into turmoil.”

Three decades later, and New York City does not remotely resemble Daytona Beach — even if some resident wished it did on winter days like this. On Thursday, New York City’s temperature stood at 28 degrees Fahrenheit,according to the Weather Channel, while Daytona Beach was a balmy 75 degrees Fahrenheit. This winter, in fact, New York City experienced its coldest recorded temperature ever for Feb. 2nd just this year when thermometers in Central Park dipped below 7 degrees Fahrenheit – shattering a previous 65-year record for the coldest Feb. 2nd set in 1950.

It may be that Daytona Beach is becoming more like New York City, as Daytona did get a light dusting of snow in Jan. 2008 and again in Jan. 2010. Snow flurrieswere also reported in Daytona in 1989 and in 1977. Ok, so maybe not like New York City, which gets a lot more snow.

But federal scientists in the 1980s predicted that trace greenhouse gases, and not just carbon dioxide, were causing the world to warm rapidly, though at the time there was little to no evidence of rapid warming.

“This additional funding, the majority of which is for required information technology upgrades, will allow the IRS to increase efforts to ensure compliance with a number of tax-related provisions of the ACA, including the premium tax credit and individual shared responsibility provision,” IRS Commissioner John Koskinen said in prepared remarks to a Senate Appropriations subcommittee on Tuesday.
“The funding will provide enhanced technology infrastructure and applications support, and allow necessary, major modifications to existing IRS tax administration systems.”
IRS Commissioner John Koskinen said Tuesday that the IRS wants $2 billion more in funding next year — about one quarter of that would go to implement Obamacare.
“A portion of the funding also addresses new audit requirements related to the employer shared responsibility provision,” he added.
