Dems propose a new federal agency: The Department of Peacebuilding | TheBlaze.com

Dems propose a new federal agency: The Department of Peacebuilding | TheBlaze.com:

"As a result, the bill would set up a new department that would be “dedicated to peacebuilding, peacemaking, and the study and promotion of conditions conducive to both domestic and international peace and a culture of peace.”

The secretary of peacebuilding’s mission would be to “cultivate peace and peacebuilding as a strategic national policy objective.” He or she would have to address both domestic and international violence by monitoring conflicts and recommending ways to end them, addressing family violence, violence against women, and reducing prison recidivism rates.

The bill would also require a study on how firearms are contributing to violence. It would have the department employ “successful, field-tested programs, and developing new approaches for dealing with the tools of violence, including handguns, especially among youth.”

St. Clair plaza project needs $62,500 in 60 days:
"ST. CLAIR – The Community Foundation of St. Clair County is working to raise $62,500 in 60 days.
If it makes its goal, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation will match it, dollar for dollar, to help fund the remaining work of the St. Clair Riverview Plaza redevelopment.
"The MEDC is investing in places that community members can gather at all across the state," said Lynn Griffor, Community Foundation of St. Clair County vice president.
"The St. Clair plaza is one of several communities that are vying for the grant."
The $125,000 would go toward the second phase of the courtyard redevelopment, including a fireplace, fountain, decorative railing and art.

White House: Obama Knew Clinton’s Email Address | TheBlaze.com

White House: Obama Knew Clinton’s Email Address | TheBlaze.com:

"President Barack Obama was aware of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s email address, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said, even though the president himself said he first learned about her private account from news reports.

Earnest tried to explain Monday what Obama really meant in an interview with CBS News, when asked if that mean there were no emails between the two."

Solar Power Propaganda vs. The Real World

Solar Power Propaganda vs. The Real World | Somewhat Reasonable
When a former “senior communications official at the White House” writes a blog post forU.S. News and World Report, you should be able to trust it.
But when the author states that the Keystone pipeline would create only 19 weeks of temporary jobs, everything else he says must be suspect—including the claim that our “energy infrastructure will be 100 percent solar by 2030.”
...He states: “A third of all new electric generation in 2014 came from solar.”
This may be true but, as you’ll see, it belies several important details. Plenty of cause exists for Republican lawmakers to “disdain” the growth in renewable energy.
First, efficient and effective coal-fueled electricity that has provided the bulk of America’s power is being prematurely shut down by regulations promulgated by the Obama administration. It is virtually impossible to get a new coal-fueled power plant permitted in the U.S. Even natural gas-powered plants meet with resistance. And, of course, just try to build a nuclear power plant and all the fear-mongers come out.
...Knowing the importance of the “incentives,” the solar industry has now become a major campaign donor, providing political pressure and money to candidates, who will bring on more mandates, subsidies, and tax credits. Those candidates are generally Democrats, as one of the key differences between the two parties is that Democrats tend to support government involvement.
...SPUS draws upon the example of Germany, which has led the way globally in renewables.
Over time the campaign has contributed to residential electricity prices more than doubling.
...In Germany’s push for 80 percent renewable energy by 2050, it has found that despite the high penetration of renewables, given their inherent intermittency, a large amount of redundancy of coal- and natural-gas-fueled electricity (nuclear being decommissioned) is necessary to maintain the reliability of the grid...

MSM leaves out MAJOR details about black teen shot by police officer

MSM leaves out MAJOR details about black teen shot by police officer
There are three things in life that are guaranteed certainties: death, taxes, and every cop who shoots a black teenager will automatically be labeled a racist by the media.
Just about every time an incident occurs, evidence usually points to the fact the police officer was violently attacked by the thug, which is what led to their untimely demise.
Here’s a good case in point.
A black Wisconsin teenager–who turned out to be convicted of armed robbery–violently attacks a police officer, leaving the officer no choice but to use lethal force.
Is that the story mainstream media reports?
Of course not.
Let’s take a look at  how NBC covered this shooting in a post headlined: Black Teen Tony Robinson Shot Dead by Cop in Madison, Wisconsin, Was Unarmed. First, their lede:
The 19-year-old black man who was shot dead Friday during a confrontation with a police officer in Madison, Wisconsin, was unarmed, police said Saturday.
A “confrontation,” eh?
How wonderfully passive.
Zero indication of whether this confrontation might have been the responsibility of the black man or the police, except for the observation that the black man was unarmed–so, right in the first sentence they’ve established the ” cop shoots unarmed black teenager” narrative with which we’ve grown so tiresomely familiar.
Within hours of the incident, the family gets an official spokesman, and as you can probably guess, there were protests and sit-ins at Madison City Hall.
NBC then refers to a previous incident Officer Matt Kenny–the individual who shot Tony Robinson–was involved in where he shot and killed a man in what was later to be determined to be a “suicide-by-cop” situation.
He was cleared of any wrongdoing, but of course, the MSM brings this incident up because they’re doing their best to put together a narrative that paints this cop as a violent, crazed, homicidal, racist maniac.
Oh, it gets better.
NBC then goes on to include quotes from the family which seem to paint Robinson as a darling little angel incapable of doing wrong.
Sharon Irwin, Robins’s grandmother:   “He was a beautiful, beautiful soul and everybody that knew him knew that.”
Robinson’s aunt, Lorien Carter: “This is the type of child that you wanted to have in your life because he made it better.”
Conveniently, NBC left out a bunch of details that give context to Kenny’s decision to use lethal force against Robinson.
First off, Robinson wasn’t even remotely close to being the perfect angel he was made out to be in the piece.
In fact, he was a convicted armed robber.
So, what do we find in The Smoking Gun post that was left absent from the NBC piece?
As we did with the NBC piece, let’s start with the lede:
The unarmed Wisconsin teenager who was shot to death last night during a confrontation with a Madison cop pleaded guilty last year to armed robbery and recently began serving a three-year probation term for that felony conviction, court records show.
Oh and they left out this teeny tiny little detail about Robinson bashing Kenny in the head, knocking him to the ground, and engaging in a struggle.
I mean, seriously, this isn’t THAT important of a detail, right?
According to police, an officer responded Friday to a 911 call about a man who had assaulted a victim and was dodging cars in traffic.
The cop followed the suspect into a nearby apartment, where the man allegedly struck the officer in the head, knocking him to the ground.
During an ensuing struggle, patrolman Matt Kenny fatally shot the suspect...

Seriously? THIS is the #2 MOST IMPORTANT story of the day?-------Fallout continues at Univ. of Oklahoma over racist video

My Way News - Fallout continues at Univ. of Oklahoma over racist video:
"NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — A racist chant by several members of a University of Oklahoma fraternity that was caught on video led to outrage from the school's president and the organization's banishment from campus, but fallout from the incident appears far from over.
President David Boren said an investigation is underway to determine if some of the students could be expelled for violating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, which prohibits racial discrimination.
The video, which was posted online, shows several people on a bus participating in a chant that included a racial slur, referenced lynching and indicated black students would never be admitted to OU's chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
"We are also going to look at any individual perpetrators, particularly those that we think took a lead in this kind of activity," Boren said.
The incident also had a profound effect on many of the roughly 1,400 black students who attend the university's Norman campus."

"Communism is so cool that some kids want it to be the theme for their prom.
I’m not sure if kids just don’t know about the reality of communism, (because teaching kindergarteners sex ed is MUCH more important than history) or if they know and just don’t care.
Instead of showing 8th graders graphic sex slideshows, maybe “America’s finest minds” could show our kids more clips like this.
This is what happens when government rules your life.
The video shows a typical Soviet Russia grocery store somewhere around 1986-1990.
This is the crap Reagan was calling out."

10 Reasons Why The Unemployment Numbers Are A Massive Lie

10 Reasons Why The Unemployment Numbers Are A Massive Lie
Editor’s Note: We have more people unemployed in America today than ever before and the real unemployment rate is hovering around the same levels as the Great Depression.
Nearly one in four Americans are unable to find work, but according to the statistics being released by the government and parroted by the mainstream media, we are now at ‘full employment’ in this country.
The nearly 50 million Americans on food stamps and over 90 million people who are not in the workforce might disagree...
In the following analysis Michael Snyder, author of The Beginning of the End and founder of The Economic Collapse Blog, explains what’s really happening on Main Street.
unemployment...#2 The percentage of working age Americans that have a job right now is still about the same as it was during the depths of the last recession.  Posted below is a chart that shows how the employment-population ratio has changed since the beginning of the decade.  Does this look like a full-blown “employment recovery” to you?…

#3 The primary reason for the decline in the official “unemployment rate” is the fact that the government now considers millions upon millions of long-term unemployed workers to “no longer be in the labor force”.  Just check out the following numbers
The number of Americans participating in the labor force has been on a decline for the past few years. Nearly 33 percent of the Americans above age 16 are not part of the workforce, the highest number since 1978. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) report issued recently has found 92,898,000 Americans above age 16 not a part of the labor force of the country as on February 2015.

When President Obama took over the office in January 2009, nearly 80,529,000 Americans were not a part of the labor force. The number has increase by nearly 12 million over the last few years...

Appropriate? Detroit's School Emergency Manager Got a $50,000 Bonus

Appropriate? Detroit's School Emergency Manager Got a $50,000 Bonus  –  Deadline Detroit
Considering the state of Detroit's public school system, some question whether its third emergency manager, Jack Martin, should have gotten bonuses totaling $50,000.
Ann Zaniewski of the Detroit Free Press writes that the Michigan Department of Treasury gave Jack Martin performance bonus in two payments — the first for $23,000 in 2013, and the second for $27,000, which went out around the time he stepped down in mid-January from his 18-month tenure. It was the most he could get under the contract.
"While there were no particular benchmarks (for the bonus pay), Martin worked to stabilize enrollment, restored numerous programs at the elementary and middle school levels, redesigned career tech programs and sold or leased numerous unused or vacant properties which generated millions of dollars for the district," Terry Stanton, spokesman for the Michigan Department of Treasury, wrote in an e-mail.
The Freep reports that Martin had a $225,000-a-year contract and his total compensation over the 18 months was $340,962, not including the bonus pay.
The Freep writes:
Critics point out that the district's ongoing deficit shot up to nearly $170 million under Martin — something the former emergency manager has attributed to several factors, including declining enrollment, a reduction in federal funding and a failed countywide school millage.
