County Prosecutor: We Have the Potential to Bring Charges Against Whitmer by Beth Baumann

Lucido began investigating the policy decision last year when he served as a state senator. In August, he disclosed that more than 2,000 residents and 21 staff members died in nursing homes. Those numbers make up 32 percent of the state's COVID deaths. As a state senator, Lucido asked Attorney General Dana Nessel (D) and the U.S. attorney to investigate. Nessel's office said there was no basis for an investigation and the U.S. attorney's office is still digging into the matter.

"GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Justice for Black Lives criticized Grand Rapids police for arresting leaders of a downtown protest Monday,  March 8, related to George Floyd’s killing by Minneapolis police.
The protest came as ex-officer Derek Chauvin’s trial was to begin in Minneapolis.
The protest was peaceful until Grand Rapids Police targeted well known activists by name and responded to nonviolence with violence,” Grand Rapids-based Justice for Black Lives posted on Facebook...Read all.

"The closest thing to a COVID 'cure'?
Eli Lilly's combination antibody drug cuts the risk of COVID-19 hospitalization and death by 87%, study finds
  • The combination treatment, a mixture of two drugs, recognizes the coronavirus and attaches to it, preventing it from spreading throughout the body
  • Half a group of 769 mild-to-moderate COVID-19 patients at high risk of severe illness were given the drugs and another half given the placebo
  • There four hospitalizations and zero deaths among the patients given the treatment and 11 hospitalizations and four deaths among the placebo group

Black Lives Matter militants harass young girls for their 'white privilege' as they walk into cheerleading competition - TheBlaze

As one group of cheerleaders crossed the street into the Kentucky International Convention Center, Carmen M. Jones spelled out a message for them as she spoke into a megaphone, WDRB-TV reported. "The reason why you get to be here in these pretty little gorgeous outfits and your gorgeous hair and your gorgeous bows is because of your white privilege," Jones said, according to the station. "Breonna [Taylor] is dead. Black mothers are burying their babies while white mothers send their daughters to cheer competitions."

Biden rejects common-sense center on everything from schools to border

And even as he embraces open borders, he’s passively letting schools stay closed. Abandoning his pledges to get most open in his first 100 days, he’s now pretending that it can’t be done without vast new federal spending contained in his “relief” bill — even though the nation’s schools have billions left from last year’s relief measures, and his proposed outlays are mainly for years in the future.

The science clearly shows that reopening poses no real health risk to students or adult staff, but the president just refuses to say a word of criticism of the teachers unions (and the politicians they control), which are without question the real barrier to reopening.

During March 1–December 31, 2020, state-issued mask mandates applied in 2,313 (73.6%) of the 3,142 U.S. counties. Mask mandates were associated with a 0.5 percentage point decrease (p = 0.02) in daily COVID-19 case growth rates 1–20 days after implementation and decreases of 1.1, 1.5, 1.7, and 1.8 percentage points 21–40, 41–60, 61–80, and 81–100 days, respectively, after implementation (p<0.01 for all) (Table 1) (Figure). Mask mandates were associated with a 0.7 percentage point decrease (p = 0.03) in daily COVID-19 death growth rates 1–20 days after implementation and decreases of 1.0, 1.4, 1.6, and 1.9 percentage points 21–40, 41–60, 61–80, and 81–100 days, respectively, after implementation (p<0.01 for all). Daily case and death growth rates before implementation of mask mandates were not statistically different from the reference period.

Trump Was Right: Stanford Law Says Public Schools Create Racial Hierarchy

Trump Was Right: Stanford Law Says Public Schools Create Racial Hierarchy
"...Stanford Law and Policy Lab...have identified the problem but are pursuing an epic failure with their solution.
It seems the top-tier school has finally figured out that tying children to failing schools by their zip codes systematically oppresses black and brown children.
President Trump knew that when he called school choice the civil rights issue of our time.
However, Stanford is taking the standard approach of over-educated leftists.
As is typical, they detected disparate outcomes in a system they are evaluating, they blamed it on racism and their first instinct was to lower the standards.
...Recently I wrote about a teen in Baltimore who only passed three classes in his entire high school career. Even more shocking, with a GPA of 0.13, his class rank was 62 out of 120 students
...The soft bigotry of low expectations is evident in Stanford’s approach and New York City public schools’ approach.
Both promote the idea that we should not expect minority children to meet behavioral or academic standards to address disparate outcomes.
What they are proposing is lowering the bar or reducing services to all children.
The 58 students in Baltimore will not leave school with more skills if you lower the standards.
New York City schools’ performance also continues to decline with an increasing number of social justice solutions...Read all.

LA teachers warned against posting vacation pics online as union fights against in-person classes - TheBlaze

According to KTTV reporter Bill Melugin, parents in the Los Angeles school district were angered over the leaked warning to Spring Breaking teachers — which came just a week after UTLA's president sparked outrage when she blamed "white, wealthy parents" for "driving the push" for California to reopen schools in a decision she sees as premature.

"We are being unfairly targeted by people who are not experiencing this disease in the same ways as students and families are in our communities," UTLA President Cecily Myart-Cruz asserted in reaction to California's $2 billion plan to incentivize schools to be open by April 1.

Masking Children: Tragic, Unscientific, and Damaging
  • Summary: Children do not readily acquire SARS-CoV-2 (very low risk), spread it to other children or teachers, or endanger parents or others at home.
  • This is the settled science.
  • In the rare cases where a child contracts Covid virus it is very unusual for the child to get severely ill or die.
  • Masking can do positive harm to children – as it can to some adults.
  • But the cost benefit analysis is entirely different for adults and children – particularly younger children...Read all.

As the Insurrection Narrative Crumbles, Democrats Cling to it More Desperately Than Ever - Glenn Greenwald
"If the threat of "armed insurrectionists" and "domestic terrorists" is as great as some claim, why do they have to keep lying and peddling crude media fictions about it?
Twice in the last six weeks, warnings were issued about imminent, grave threats to public safety posed by the same type of right-wing extremists who rioted at the Capitol on January 6.
And both times, these warnings ushered in severe security measures only to prove utterly baseless.
  • First we had the hysteria over the violence we were told was likely to occur at numerous state capitols on Inauguration Day...In an even scarier formulation, NPR intoned that “the FBI is warning of protests and potential violence in all 50 state capitals ahead of President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration.”
  • The date of March 4 has taken on a virtually religious significance for the Q-Anon movement, announced NBC News’ Ben Collins, who was heard on NPR on Thursday speaking through actual, literal journalistic tears as he recounted all the times he called Facebook to plead with them to remove dangerous right-wing extremists on their platform...Read all!

Jen Psaki Dodges When Challenged Why Biden's Avoided Press Conferences Longer Than Anyone Else - Louder With Crowder

Jen Psaki Dodges When Challenged Why Biden's Avoided Press Conferences Longer Than Anyone Else - Louder With Crowder

Conservatives had fun at Joe Biden's expense on Thursday. There was a viral clip of Biden offering to take questions and the White House cutting the feed. I shan't say more, because Facebook's "fact" checkers are circling the wagons. I'll just say it happened during this virtual meeting with Nancy "Nance" Pelosi. The reason why the viral video took off as it did is that Biden has been avoiding the press longer than any president in modern history. At least as far as a proper press conference goes. You know, one where a reporter can challenge the president and where the president needs to remember things and try not to poop his pants.

  • COVID Isn’t A Threat To American Kids — Selfish Teachers, Their Unions, And Their Democrat Allies Are
  • For some reason we all feel the need to continue to tiptoe around one of the most awful, lazy, and selfish groups in America: left-wing public teachers unions and the teachers who support them.
"It’s time we realize we are not “in this together.”
Yes, we’ve heard that from Hollywood videos and Super Bowl ads, and from politicians and commercials, but unfortunately it just ain’t so.
...I know there are states across the country where public school teachers have gone back to work just like the rest of us.
I know there are public school teachers who want to go back to work and teach kids in person, and who are heartbroken over the damage their colleagues are inflicting on America’s children.
But there are tens of thousands of teachers singing a very different song, and theirs is by far the loudest...Read all.
