Piling On: More New Research Shows No Link Between “Polar Vortex” and Global Warming

Piling On: More New Research Shows No Link Between “Polar Vortex” and Global Warming | Cato @ Liberty:
This is getting embarrassing.
Another scientific paper has just been published that again finds no association between Arctic sea ice loss and extreme cold and wintery conditions across the U.S.—White House Science Advisor John Holdren’s favorite mechanism for tying last winter’s persistent “polar vortex” over the eastern US to anthropogenic global warming (AGW).
We wonder just what it will take for the White House to publicly admit that it was grossly wrong.
At the very least, it needs to disavow a widely-disseminated YouTube video featuring Holdren explaining the link between last winter’s polar vortex and human-caused climate change.
There is no such link.
Of course, this won’t happen, as Holdren was simply engaging in a publicity stunt relying on tenuous science to scare up support for President Obama’s Climate Action Plan.
The President is hell-bent on an endless string of executive actions aimed at manipulating the energy market and reducing our energy choices along the way.

"Feel good" story of the day!--------------GUNMAN SHOOTS OFF HIS TESTICLES AFTER COMMITTING CRIME!

GUNMAN SHOOTS OFF HIS TESTICLES AFTER COMMITTING CRIME! | Americas Freedom Fighters:
                        A Criminal’s Unfortunate Mistake
Portland, Oregon – A 40 year-old man, or former man, named Joseph Johnson accidentally shot off his own testicles while he was fleeing the scene of the a crime. The culprit was committing a shooting in downtown Portland, and as he hastily fled the scene he holstered the gun in his pants, inadvertently firing the gun resulting in self-castration. This was not before he gave his victim, 32 year-old Jordan Merrell, a leg-wound. Of course we heavily sympathize with the victim, but compared to castration by gun a leg-wound sounds like a little slice of Heaven.
According to local police and eyewitness testimonies, the gunman and the victim knew each other very well and lived in the same apartment building. The conflict took place in a parking lot behind the building, which is where the gunman allegedly confronted the victim, demanded he hand over his property, and shot him in the leg. Police spokesman Sergeant Pete Simpson is on record as saying that “the suspect’s wound is consistent with somebody putting a gun in his pants.”

May cable news ratings spare no one - POLITICO.com:
"MSNBC had its lowest performance in prime time since July 2006, while CNN had the least-watched 9 p.m. hour in its entire history, a sharp drop after its quick jumps in April from its coverage of the missing Malaysian plane.
MSNBC’s highest-rated show was “The Rachel Maddow Show,” which placed 14th overall, with 738,000 average total viewers, and 11th overall in the demo, with 176,000 demo viewers.
"Anderson Cooper 360″ was the top CNN program, placing 21st, with 452,000 average total viewers, and 19th — with an average of 145,000 — in the demo."

Michigan teacher suspended after segregation lesson

Michigan teacher suspended after segregation lesson | Fox News:
"A southeast Michigan public school teacher has been removed from the classroom while district officials look into whether a lesson plan on African-American history and racial segregation laws was inappropriate.
Alan Barron was placed on paid leave nearly two weeks ago after an eighth-grade history class at Monroe Middle School was shown a video of how white entertainers once used black face paint to imitate blacks, according to The Monroe News (http://bit.ly/1gPFuNY ).
An assistant principal sat in on the history class as Barron, 59, discussed Jim Crow laws and showed the video.
...Adrienne Aaron, whose daughter is in Barron's class, said he simply was teaching history and that racial segregation is a subject that should be discussed with students.
"It had nothing to do with racism. History is history," Aaron told the newspaper.
"We need to educate our kids to see how far we've come in America.
How is that racism?
"It's so sad this has happened to him.
He's one of the best teachers we've had.""

But Issa wasn’t happy about it, and slammed Kerry for his ongoing attempts to hide the truth about the attack and the administration’s response to the attacks."

IRS Tax Migration | How Money Walks | How $2 Trillion Moved between the States - A Book By Travis H. Brown:

Big Labor’s VA Choke Hold

WSJ: Big Labor’s VA Choke Hold - Fox Nation:
"We know with certainty that there is at least one person the Department of Veterans Affairs is serving well.
That would be the president of local lodge 1798 of the National Federation of Federal Employees.
The Federal Labor Relations Authority, the agency that mediates federal labor disputes, earlier this month ruled in favor of this union president, in a dispute over whether she need bother to show up at her workplace—the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
According to FLRA documents, this particular VA employee is 100% "official time"—D.C. parlance for federal employees who work every hour of every work day for their union, at the taxpayer's expense.

In April 2012, this, ahem, VA "employee" broke her ankle and declared that she now wanted to do her nonwork for the VA entirely from the comfort of her home.
Veterans Affairs attempted a compromise:
Perhaps she could, pretty please, come in two days a week?
She refused, and complained to the FLRA that the VA was interfering with her right to act as a union official.
The VA failed to respond to the complaint in the required time (perhaps too busy caring for actual veterans) and so the union boss summarily won her case.

The VA battle is only just starting, but any real reform inevitably ends with a fight over organized labor.
Think of it as the federal version of Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan and other states where elected officials have attempted to rein in the public-sector unions that have hijacked government agencies for their own purpose.
Fixing the VA requires first breaking labor's grip, and the unions are already girding for that fight."

A mother-of-four died after doctors missed 30 chances to diagnose her cervical cancer, an inquest heard.
Jeannine Harvey, 33, was so debilitated by pain she was unable to get out of bed without help.
However, despite consultations with her GP and doctors at three hospitals, her cervical cancer was repeatedly misdiagnosed as a potential torn ligament, protruding discs, sarcoma and "nerve pain".
Doctors even suggested at one point that her agony was caused by anxiety."

The Disaster of Obamanomics, In Two Charts

The Disaster of Obamanomics, In Two Charts [Updated with more charts from Joe] | Power Line: "Apologists for the Obama administration sometimes argue that the nation’s declining rate of labor force participation is largely a function of baby boomers retiring from the labor force.
Unfortunately, this is not the case.
This chart, prepared by the Senate Budget Committee, pretty much says it all.
An unprecedented number of men–one in six–between the ages of 25 and 54, what should be their prime earning years, are either unemployed or out of the work force entirely.
One in eight, the highest proportion since record-keeping began in 1955, are out of the labor force:"

Fast food CEO: Minimum wage hikes closing locations

Fast food CEO: Minimum wage hikes closing locations:
"In cities in other states where the minimum wage has gone up considerably, Puzder said "franchisees are closing locations" after riding out lease expirations.
If the federal minimum hourly pay shoots up to $10.10 from the current $7.25—as many lawmakers and President Barack Obama are advocating—Puzder predicts fewer entry-level jobs will be created. If this happens, CKE would also create fewer positions, he forecast.
A recent nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office study also predicted mass job losses, estimating that a hike to $10.10 could result in a loss of about half a million jobs by late 2016, even as it lifted many above the poverty line."

IG Report: HHS Spent $120 Million on Medicare for Illegal Immigrants

IG Report: HHS Spent $120 Million on Medicare for Illegal Immigrants | Truth Revolt

A report by the Inspector General revealed that between the fiscal years 2009-2011, the Department of Health and Human Services spent $120.6 million under Medicare Parts B and D to cover illegal immigrants.
Under the category “unlawfully present beneficiaries,” the IG report states:
We identified $91.6 million in improper payments to unlawfully present beneficiaries in Part B during CYs 2009 through 2011. When CMS received untimely information indicating that unlawful presence overlapped with the dates of service on previously paid Medicare claims, CMS did not notify Medicare's contractors of this updated information, and the contractors did not detect and recoup improper payments. For the same period, we estimated $29 million in gross drug costs associated with unlawfully present beneficiaries in Part D.

Illinois Paying Millions In Medicaid Premiums For Dead People

Illinois Paying Millions In Medicaid Premiums For Dead People | The Daily Caller:
"Illinois paid $12 million in Medicaid benefits in the past two years for people who were already dead, according to a state audit.
A financial audit of the Illinois Department of Health and Family Services found that Illinois has 8,232 dead people still on Medicaid rolls receiving benefits.
The state has been paying monthly premiums, at the cost of close to $7 million, for 561 people who have been dead an average of two years before they were ever signed up for the Medicaid program, the Chicago Sun Times reports.
“A person was dead for 663 days and then they were signed up for Managed Care,” Auditor General Bill Holland told the Sun Times.
“They need to improve their system to ensure the death dates for current enrollees, and just to ensure that people who were deceased were not enrolled.”"

John Bolton on Obama’s White House: It’s Like a Bunch of Children are in Charge of Foreign Policy

John Bolton on Obama’s White House: It’s Like a Bunch of Children are in Charge of Foreign Policy:

"Bolton shares that he was absolutely stunned when he heard of the compromise of this CIA operative’s identity, a move that jeopardizes not only his life and well-being, but also that of his family.
I was stunned when I heard this. It really is an example of just incompetence without parallel. It is one thing when somebody leaks a name for purposes of anti-American activity. That sort of thing has happened. Sadly enough, we’ve seen our agents betrayed or trafficked and gossiped and that sort of thing. This was sheer jaw-dropping incompetence. I’m glad the White House counsel is going to investigate it. I think heads should roll over this, there’s just no excuse for it."
