Report: White House Keeping Toxic President a Safe Distance from Vulnerable Dems Before Election: "However, with countless fiascos and various embarrassments in foreign policy matters, the president is running out of ways to “spin” his presidency and has no real accomplishments of note. With his recent admission that he possesses “no strategy” for dealing with ISIS, it’s clear why Democrats are fleeing from being associated with the president who will go down in history as the only man that could make Jimmy Carter look strong and decisive by comparison."

He is still strong in Michigan.  What an upside down nation.

More low and moderate income lending. For low-income Americans, first time homebuyers, or those who lost their home in a short sale or foreclosure, it can be extremely difficult to get a loan—even with a good credit. This settlement offers BoA credit for giving mortgages to these groups, or those in hardest hit areas, as long as they have respectable FICO score.
Building affordable rental housing. It’s also hard to find cheap rental housing, and financing for such development is scarce. As part of BoA’s agreement with the Justice Department, the bank will provide $100 million in financing for construction, rehabilitation or preservation of affordable rental multi-family housing. Half of these units must be built in Critical Family Need Housing developments.
Getting rid of blight and preventing future foreclosures. One side effect of the housing crisis was the large number of abandoned or foreclosed homes plaguing neighborhoods across the nation. BoA will earn credit for demolishing abandoned homes, donating properties to land banks, non-profits, or local governments, and providing funds for legal aid organizations and housing counseling agencies.
The bank will also receive credit for forgiving the principal of loans where foreclosure isn’t being pursued.

"According to the bill’s sponsor, Assemblyman Chris Holden (D), “We want to make sure that future generations understand that the election of our nation’s first African American president was a historic step in the effort towards equality and that previous elections involved intimidation and violence that prevented millions of African Americans from voting.”

The California Assembly passed the shameful legislation earlier this month, 76-1."

Libs go stupid as NFL’s Rams cut openly gay Michael Sam

Libs go stupid as NFL’s Rams cut openly gay Michael Sam - BizPac Review:
This was inevitable.
Rookie Michael Sam, heralded as the first openly gay player in the National Football League, was released Saturday by the St. Louis Rams, prompting the liberal blog Mother Jones to run what amounted to a photo of the player, along with a provocative, almost juvenile headline.
The post, “Michael Sam, Who Is Better At Football Than You Will Ever Be At Anything, Has Been Cut By the Rams,” offered no perspective whatsoever. In fact, other than the headline, there were no words.
When Sam was first drafted, it was clear that if he were to eventually be cut, St. Louis would face unfair scrutiny, never mind that the annals of pro football are full of college all stars who failed to catch on in the NFL.
Or that the odds were against Sam from the beginning — gay or not.
It turns out that St. Louis was already deep at the position Sam plays, with two of the best defensive lineman in the NFL already on the squad, and Sam was outplayed by a fellow rookie, an undrafted free agent out of West Texas A&M who led the team in solo tackles in the preseason, according to Fox Sports.
Nevertheless, social media was atwitter about Sam’s release by the Rams and Mother Jones’ proselytizing, as these Twitter users attest:"

Leftist Lawmakers and Enviro-Extremists Created CA Water Crisis

Leftist Lawmakers and Enviro-Extremists Created CA Water Crisis:
On Friday, the California State Assembly outdid itself.
You can always count on the leftist leaders of what is supposed to be the “people’s house” never lets a crisis go to waste.
With the passage of AB 1739 (Dickinson-D), SB 1168 (Pavley-D), and SB 1319 (Pavley-D), 100 years of history was reversed.
The authors painted a grim picture of California’s groundwater future.
Most of what they said is true.
The only problem they didn’t bother to tell you two key truths:
1.It was these same so-called leaders who give up our seat—the property owner and the farmer’s place at the table—to the enviro-extremists. The fish now have more water rights than do the farmers and ranchers who by making a living off the land, feed this state and this country.
2.By wasting surface water and letting 800,000 acre-feet go out to sea instead of capturing and storing it for the bad years, California’s dysfunctional policies combined with uber-restrictive Federal endangered species protections have created over-dependency on groundwater.
.....This is about power and government control.
Whoever controls the water, controls the people.
Every time the government takes more control over a natural resource, the price goes up.
In this case, the cost of food and energy will be inflated by government, not the marketplace.
When government is the source of inflation, it is only a matter of time until cheaper sources make their way to market from less-regulated states or nations.

Soooo, where is all the new moolah gonna go?-------Muskegon County gets $65,000 state grant for combat veterans treatment court

Muskegon County gets $65,000 state grant for combat veterans treatment court | MLive.com
MUSKEGON, MI – Muskegon County's 60th District Court has been awarded a $65,000 state grant to run its previously unfunded veterans treatment court.
"This is good news," said Chief District Judge Maria Ladas Hoopes.
The grant will fund Muskegon County's program for one year starting Oct. 1. It's from the Michigan Veterans Treatment Court Grant Program, administered by the State Court Administrative Office.
.....Although veterans' treatment courts exist elsewhere in Michigan, Muskegon County's is the only such program in the state to be federally certified by the U.S. Department of Justice, Ladas Hoopes said.
It's been running without funding since January, presided over by Judge Michael J. Nolan.
.......The county is also seeking up to $200,000 in federal grants for the program but hasn't yet received word on whether those will be awarded, according to Ladas Hoopes.
Approximately 10 combat veterans have been participating. County officials hope that number will increase somewhat with the help of grant funding.

Why Students Aren’t Going to College Football Games

Why Students Aren’t Going to College Football Games | Money.com:
"The problem is particularly evident among students, who aren’t buying tickets like generations past. For the upcoming season, the University of Michigan, the winner of no fewer than 11 national championships and 42 conference crowns, projects that student attendance will hit around 13,000—a shocking 40% less than the figure hit last year (roughly 19,000).
It’s not just a problem in Ann Arbor.
The Wall Street Journal reported that student attendance fell 7.1% from 2009 to 2013, and that it has even fallen over the past few years at games hosted by perennial powerhouses such as Ohio State, Michigan State, Florida State, LSU, and the University of Florida.
A year ago, observers took note that home attendance was down for the majority of teams in the SEC, even though the conference has thoroughly dominated college football in recent years.
The two most frequently cited reasons for the ticket slump are simply: 1) higher ticket prices; and 2) less interesting games.
A student season ticket package at Michigan, for instance, now costs $295, up from $205 not long ago.
There are only six homes games in the package, mind you, so that breaks down to just under $50 per game.
“There are students who are being priced out,”"

California passes plastic bag ban, would be first such law in U.S

California passes plastic bag ban, would be first such law in U.S | Reuters:
The California state legislature enacted a ban on plastic grocery bags on Friday near the end of its two-year session, a measure that if signed into law would become the first of its kind in America.

A number of cities and counties in California and other U.S. states, including Hawaii's Maui County, have made it illegal for grocery stores to pack purchases in plastic. But at the state level, opposition from plastic bag makers has usually prevailed.

The California Senate voted 22-15 for the bill, which must be signed into law by Sept. 30 by Democratic Governor Jerry Brown, who has not signaled a position on the measure.

"Single-use plastic bags not only litter our beaches, but also our mountains, our deserts, and our rivers, streams and lakes," said state Senator Alex Padilla, who sponsored the bill.

Padilla backed a similar measure last year but it failed by three votes. The fate of this bill was uncertain until the waning hours of the session after falling three votes short in the state's Assembly on Monday.

But after picking up the support of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, the bill passed a second vote in the Assembly.

The measure would ban grocery stores from handing out single-use grocery bags with customers' purchases, and provide money to local plastic bag companies to retool to make heavier, multiple-use bags that customers could buy.

Myth of arctic meltdown: Stunning satellite images show summer ice cap is thicker and covers 1.7million square kilometres MORE than 2 years ago...despite Al Gore's prediction it would be ICE-FREE by now

  • Seven years after former US Vice-President Al Gore's warning, Arctic ice cap has expanded for second year in row
  • An area twice the size of Alaska - America's biggest state - was open water two years ago and is now covered in ice
  • These satellite images taken from University of Illinois's Cryosphere project show ice has become more concentrated
The speech by former US Vice-President Al Gore was apocalyptic. ‘The North Polar ice cap is falling off a cliff,’ he said. ‘It could be completely gone in summer in as little as seven years. Seven years from now.’
Those comments came in 2007 as Mr Gore accepted the Nobel Peace Prize for his campaigning on climate change.
But seven years after his warning, The Mail on Sunday can reveal that, far from vanishing, the Arctic ice cap has expanded for the second year in succession – with a surge, depending on how you measure it, of between 43 and 63 per cent since 2012.s ago...despite Al Gore's prediction it would be ICE-FREE by now | Mail Online\

Study: ‘Cash for Clunkers’ Reduced Spending

Study: ‘Cash for Clunkers’ Reduced Spending | Heartlander Magazine
"Economists from Texas A&M University evaluated the stimulus program and found it cost the automobile industry billions of dollars.
The study –"Cash for Corollas: When Stimulus Reduces Spending" -- highlighted how the environmental objectives of the program interfered with the stimulus objectives.
Short Boost, Then Decline
The study found the increase in sales for the two-month program was completely offset by lower sales during the next seven to nine months. Furthermore, the fuel-efficiency restrictions on the types of vehicles that qualified for trade-in under the program reduced industry revenue by $3 billion over the 9-to-11 month period.
People who participated in the cash-for-clunkers program tended to purchase less-expensive vehicles such as the Toyota Corolla, according to the report. Each household that purchased a new vehicle under cash-for-clunkers spent an average $4,600 less on it than they otherwise would have.

NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio’s “Universal Pre-K” Program Is Delusional

NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio’s “Universal Pre-K” Program Is Delusional - Reason.com:
Establishing a government-run "universal" pre-k program was a centerpiece of his campaign for the job. And now, he's about to make good on that promise.
The mayor just secured $300 million for the project in the New York state budget.
The new pre-k program will click into place over the next two years.
It will eventually enroll about 73,250 children at a cost of $10,200 per head.
A small slice of the schools are expected to be run in concert with community charities and private providers, but the vast majority will be directly managed by the city's Department of Education.
And here's where the romantic visions driving de Blasio's grand project collide with the intractable reality of what public pre-k in New York City will actually look like in practice.
These schools will bear little resemblance to my Montessori experience.
They will not be sanctuaries for supple young minds.
They will not be exceptionally intensive and well-run.
They will be mostly terrible.
We know this because the NYC Department of Education has been running a couple thousand K-12 institutions for decades.

It spends about $19,000 per student per year.
And its schools are...mostly terrible.
