Veteran Journalist Makes Big Admission About Obama and the Media | Video | TheBlaze.com:

“Face the Nation” moderator Bob Schieffer, who signed off this weekend after more than two decades hosting the CBS Sunday morning show, told Fox News’ Howard Kurtz that it’s possible the media weren’t skeptical enough of Barack Obama during his first presidential run in 2008.

When asked whether Obama was given an “incredibly easy ride” by the media, Schieffer at first noted that the president struck many people when he came out of nowhere and became a powerful political force in the 2008 campaign season."

TSA screeners failed tests to detect explosives, weapons

TSA screeners failed tests to detect explosives, weapons - CNNPolitics.com:
"Airport screeners failed to detect explosives and weapons in nearly every test that an undercover Homeland Security team conducted at dozens of airports, according to an internal investigation.
The Transportation Security Administration found that "red teams" with the Department of Homeland Security's Office of the Inspector General were able to get banned items through the screening process in 67 out of 70 tests -- 95% -- it conducted across the nation.
..."Today, all air travelers are subject to a robust security system that employs multiple layers of protection, both seen and unseen, including: intelligence gathering and analysis, cross-checking passenger manifests against watchlists, screening at checkpoints, random canine team screening at airports, reinforced cockpit doors, Federal Air Marshals, armed pilots and a vigilant public," the spokesperson said."

"They want to ensure that Detroit doesn't end up like Ferguson, Mo., or Baltimore or New York or North Charleston, S.C.,"???!!!--------Race dominates discussion at Mackinac Policy Conference

Race dominates discussion at Mackinac Policy Conference
MACKINAC ISLAND – Bridging the racial divide in metro Detroit that leaves so many African Americans unemployed, underemployed, living in poverty or incarcerated comes down to several key proposals and a shift in the way people think about race.
The region's political and business leaders began to tackle the thorny issue last week that has roiled so many other cities over the past year.
They want to ensure that Detroit doesn't end up like Ferguson, Mo., or Baltimore or New York or North Charleston, S.C., where African Americans have died at the hands of police, causing unrest, riots and a lingering distrust.
But is the Mackinac Policy Conference on Mackinac Island, a gathering of largely white businessmen and women and elected officials, the place for such a discussion?

Why we hate lawyers-----DC Mansion Murder Suspect’s Lawyer: He Couldn’t Have Done It Because He Doesn’t Like Pizza

DC Mansion Murder Suspect’s Lawyer: He Couldn’t Have Done It Because He Doesn’t Like Pizza | Mediaite:
"The former lawyer of D.C. quadruple murder suspect Daron Dylon Wint claimed over the weekend that the 34-year-old couldn’t possibly have committed the grisly killings because… he doesn’t like pizza.
Appearing on Fox & Friends on Monday morning, that lawyer — Robin Ficker — battled Kimberly Guilfoyle over that extraordinary claim.
...In this debate, Ficker maintained that DNA evidence is “junk science,” and that the traces of Wint’s DNA found on pizza crust in the Savopoulos home indicate nothing about whether Wint was present during the killings.
“[Wint’s] mother doesn’t like pizza, his sister doesn’t like pizza, his brother doesn’t like pizza,” Ficker told Guilfoyle.
“He’s got five sisters, three brothers, they’re from Guyana.
There’s no Papa Johns.
It’s a British-speaking country in South America.
It has 750,000 people.
It’s the size of Kansas.
They don’t have pizza there.”"

"Women aged 25-34" are racist and "Aloha" is a bad word?----Earthquake movie San Andreas tops US box office

Earthquake movie San Andreas tops US box office - BBC News:
"Cameron Crowe's rom-com Aloha, starring starring Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams and Bill Murray was in sixth place...
"Some native Hawaiian groups opposed the title; while an Asian-American group slated the use of a nearly all-white cast in a film shot in Hawaii.
Rory Bruer, Sony Pictures Entertainment's president of worldwide distribution, said the film did "well enough with women aged 25-34 to overcome the negative buzz", adding that the film, which took $10m (£6.5m), cost about $37m (£24m) to make."

"Hinder" storms? CNN seems disappointed-------Hurricane outlook: El Niño could hinder Atlantic storms- CNN.com

Hurricane outlook: El Niño could hinder Atlantic storms - CNN.com
(CNN)This year's Atlantic hurricane season probably will have fewer storms than normal for the third year running -- thanks in part to El Niño, forecasters say.
The Atlantic season, which started Monday, probably will produce six to 11 named storms, forecasters with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Climate Prediction Center said last week.
Three to six of them could become hurricanes, the center predicted.
Both estimates are below the median -- about 12 named storms and 6.5 hurricanes, according to Colorado State University's Tropical Meteorology Project.
What could hold hurricane formation back?
That would be warm waters in the ocean to the west, said Gerry Bell, NOAA's lead hurricane season forecaster.
The phenomenon known as El Niño is back this year.
The event, involving the warming of water in the equatorial Pacific, increases strong wind shear in the Atlantic.
That reduces the intensity of tropical storms and hurricanes and prevents other systems from becoming powerful enough to be given names..."

Minnesota Muslims brutally honest: ‘We want Shariah’

Minnesota Muslims brutally honest: ‘We want Shariah’:

‘Is it right to kill someone who insults the prophet?’

“Yes,” said the bearded man with the animated personality. “Because when you, every day you face frustration. And you know, every day you have, uh, you’re mad, or somebody says that, and you feel hate your soul. You could do anything you wanted. If you committed suicide, you don’t care, because your heart, your heart is telling you, ‘I don’t want to live no more,’ because you couldn’t take that much hate. Or you, you kill someone.”

The interviewer got even more pointed with a reference to Pamela Geller, who hosted the cartoon contest in Garland, Texas, earlier this month that was attacked by two Muslim men.

“Is it right to kill someone who insults Muhammad?”

If you like your socialism, you can keep you socialism........Venezuela Hits 510% Inflation

Venezuela Hits 510% Inflation by Steve Hanke - Dr. Rich Swier
Venezuela’s bolivar is collapsing.
And as night follows day, Venezuela’s annual implied inflation rate is soaring.
Last week, the annual inflation rate broke through the 500% level.
It now stands at 510%.
With free market exchange-rate data (usually black-market data), the real inflation rate can be calculated.

The principle of purchasing power parity (PPP), which links changes in exchange rates and changes in prices, allows for a reliable inflation estimate.
Using black-market exchange rate data that The Johns Hopkins-Cato Institute Troubled Currencies Project has collected over the past year, I estimate Venezuela’s current annual implied inflation rate to be 510%.
This is the highest rate in the world.
It’s well above the second-highest rate: Syria’s, which stands at 84%...

Holi crapoli!!!-----Serious flaws revealed in U.S. anti-missile nuclear defense against North Korea

Serious flaws revealed in U.S. anti-missile nuclear defense against North Korea - LA Times
Two serious technical flaws have been identified in the ground-launched anti-missile interceptors that the United States would rely on to defend against a nuclear attack by North Korea.
Pentagon officials were informed of the problems as recently as last summer but decided to postpone corrective action.
As a result, all 33 interceptors now deployed at Vandenberg Air Force Base in Santa Barbara County and Ft. Greely, Alaska, have one of the defects.
Ten of those interceptors — plus eight being prepared for delivery this year — have both.
Summing up the effect on missile-defense readiness, the GAO report said that "the fielded interceptors are susceptible to experiencing … failure modes," resulting in "an interceptor fleet that may not work as intended."

Hastert La Vista, Baby!

Hastert La Vista, Baby! :: SteynOnline:
"...As the story unfolds, only one thing can be said for certain:
We're never gonna hear another word about Hillary's Clinton Foundation scandals ever again, not even if ISIS paid $2 million for Bill to deliver a 20-minute speech on climate change at the Sword of the Beheader Elementary School in Ramadi and they decapitated ten Christians as the warm-up act.
So far, The New York Times has five reporters on the Hastert story, The Washington Post nine
...so there's no one left in the newsroom to look into Hillary - even though Bill's been flying around with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein on a plane called the Lolita Express....
Yeah, good luck with that.
The GOP put a paedo Speaker two heartbeats from the Oval Office!
Can they ever again be trusted with power?
Why, if al-Qaeda had gotten a little luckier on 9/11, Hastert could have wound up as the first pedophile president...
So now all three Republican House Speakers from the Impeachment Era have been destroyed.
And Slick Willie will be able to say that he was impeached for having consensual relations with a 21-year-old woman by a House led by a guy who had non-consensual relations with underage boys.
That would be Impeachment Redemption at a most convenient time.
When's the trial scheduled for?
September 2016?
If that's where we're headed, it would be too much to expect the Democrat-media complex to forgo the pleasure of making the third most powerful Republican of the century the poster boy for his party.
I've been wondering what it would take to get Bill and Hillary over this awkward little bump on the road to her coronation.
They've always been lucky like that..."

Constitution Revolution: Let the Impeachments Begin! | TheBlaze.com:

"You don’t have to be a deep political thinker to see what this approach to government leads to. All we have to do is apply a little common sense.

We’ve created an environment where the people in our federal government are able to misuse their offices in order to make themselves very wealthy and very powerful. And these public officials also know that there is virtually no chance that they will ever be held accountable for their actions. What kind of people do you think that is going to attract to working in our federal government?

The common sense answer is: People who are primarily concerned with making themselves wealthy and powerful. And if you look at Washington, D.C. today, it’s filled with exactly those types of people.

That’s not exactly a recipe for honest government that’s focused on serving the people of this country."

Isis could obtain nuclear weapon from Pakistan, warns India

Isis could obtain nuclear weapon from Pakistan, warns India - Asia - World - The Independent: "India's defense minister has voiced concern that the radical Islamist group Isis could obtain a nuclear weapon from "states like Pakistan".
Rao Inderjit Singh made the comments on the sidelines of the Shangri-La regional security conference in Singapore, Bloomberg has reported.
"With the rise of Isis in West Asia, one is afraid to an extent that perhaps they might get access to a nuclear arsenal from states like Pakistan," Bloomberg quoted him as saying.
Earlier in the month Isis suggested it could attempt to buy its first nuclear weapon within a year and that it might come from Pakistan.
An article in its propaganda magazine Dabiq said: "The Islamic State has billions of dollars in the bank, so they call on their wilāyah [official] in Pakistan to purchase a nuclear device through weapons dealers with links to corrupt officials in the region.""

Women Are a Driving Force in Nation's Shift from Gun Control to Gun Rights

Women Are a Driving Force in Nation's Shift from Gun Control to Gun Rights - Breitbart:
"Women have emerged as one of the fastest-growing demographics of new gun buyers and concealed carry permit holders in the country, and in the process, they have become a driving force in the shift in American attitudes from pro-gun control to pro-gun rights.
...Now, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that this is not only providing new markets for the gun industry and expanding the number of concealed carry permits issued to women, but also impacting Americans’ views on guns and gun rights.
In late 2012–immediately following the heinous attack on Sandy Hook Elementary School–there was greater support for gun control than for gun rights.
In fact, there had been a greater support for gun control over gun rights for more than 20 years.
And this held true through January 2013.
Then things began to shift.
...Interestingly, the shift in women’s attitude in favor of guns has taken place during years when groups like Bloomberg-funded Moms Demand Action have worked their hardest to get moms to vote against the Second Amendment."

I'm likin' this chick!----Carly Fiorina: Big government is crushing Americans

Carly Fiorina: Big government is crushing Americans

Republican presidential hopeful Carly Fiorina told a packed audience that a huge, complex and sometimes corrupt government was "crushing the potential" of Americans.
"That is not hyperbole," she said. "That is fact."
When democracy becomes so big and powerful, and so costly and complex, Fiorina said, only the big, powerful, wealthy and well-connected can handle it.
"The small and the powerless get crushed," she said.
At the Delaware GOP convention in Wilmington on Saturday morning, Fiorina came out strong against Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton, questioning why the former U.S. secretary of state has answered so few on-the-record questions.
...While on the campaign trail, Fiorina said she's often asked why she's so critical of Clinton.
"It has nothing to do with the fact that either one of us are women. It has to do with this fact: 82 percent of the American people now believe that we have a professional political class that is more focused on preserving its power and privilege than it is on doing the people's work," she said.
"Bill and Hillary Clinton are the personification of the professional political class," she said.

Interesting---America the Obese: Is There a Multibillion Dollar Conspiracy to Make Sure Americans Stay Overweight?

America the Obese: Is There a Multibillion Dollar Conspiracy to Make Sure Americans Stay Overweight? | The Daily Sheeple:
According to Gallup, America is now fatter than it has ever been before.
But how can this possibly be?
After all, Americans spend an astounding 60 billion dollars a year on weight loss programs and products.
After putting so much time, effort and energy into losing weight, shouldn’t we be some of the healthiest people on the entire planet?
Sadly, the truth is that obesity has become a national epidemic, and we are known around the globe for our huge size.
The term “fat Americans” has become synonymous with overweight tourists, and other cultures mock us for our apparent sloth.
But could there be more to this than just the fact that we eat too much?
Could it be possible that we have been fattened up by design?
Before we get to that, let’s take a look at some of the cold, hard numbers.
The following are some of the statistics from the Gallup survey that I mentioned above…
-The national rate of obesity has risen to an all-time high of 27.7 percent.
That is up from 27.1 percent in 2013, and it is much higher than the 25.5 percent number that we were sitting at in 2008.
-At 19.0 percent, Hawaii has the lowest rate of obesity in the entire country.
-At 35.2 percent, Mississippi has the highest rate of obesity in the entire country.
-The rest of the top 10 includes West Virginia, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Kentucky, Indiana, Iowa, and Missouri.
And remember, those numbers just cover obesity.
You can definitely be overweight without meeting the official criteria for being “obese.”
According to CNN, 70 percent of all Americans are overweight at this point.
To say that we have a national crisis on our hands is a huge understatement..."

A global scam to enrich politically connected insiders------Are There Any Evils Global Warming Is Not Responsible For?

Are There Any Evils Global Warming Is Not Responsible For? - Investors.com:
Hysteria: Deadly flooding in Texas and Oklahoma is being blamed on global warming.
Last year, when Texas was in a drought, global warming was also held responsible.
Has anyone thought that maybe it's just the weather?
'Torrential downpours and events like this are consistent with the general theory of global warming," Dave Schwartz of the Weather Channel has told the International Business Times.
Writing in the Huffington Post, James Gerken asks if the disaster is "climate change in action," then answers his own question, declaring that, "at minimum, the recent downpours in Texas probably offer a glimpse of what certain parts of the U.S. can look forward to in the coming decades."
Meanwhile, Bill Nye, who doesn't strike us as a particularly good science guy, tweeted:
"Billion$$ in damage in Texas & Oklahoma. Still no weather-caster may utter the phrase Climate Change."
Not to be left out is Scientific American, which headlined a Web story thusly:
"Climate Change May Have Souped Up Record-Breaking Texas Deluge."
So, we have to wonder, what about last year, when Texas had to worry about a shortage of rain and parched earth?
Surely if heavy rains are deviations from the norm caused by global warming, then the dry conditions found in Texas must be natural and not the product of man-made climate change.
Well, not in the eyes of those who see man-made global warming as cause for every weather event that seems to be outside the ordinary.
Last year during that harsh drought, they were also happy to lecture the public about global warming's role.
"More Drought, Heat and Water Wars: What Climate Change Already Means for Texas" screamed a May 6, 2014, National Public Radio headline.
On that same day, the Dallas Morning News cited a federal report that said "worse" global warming effects were "ahead for Texas."
Ten days later, Think Progress was swearing "Climate Change Dries Out Texas."
A year earlier, USA Today reported that "Climate change's heat intensifiesdrought in the USA." And the 2011 Texas drought, reported NBC News, was "20 times more likely due to warming."
Climate Central cited a study that year that found that global warming was "amplifying Texas drought, wildfires."
So, yes, global warming causes drought — and it causes heavy rain.
In fact, it doesn't matter what the weather does; there is a faction out there that's always prepared to say that human-caused emissions of carbon dioxide are responsible.
The rational explanation for what appear to be weather extremes is actually found within the International Business Times story we cited above.
Far below the headline, Russell Persyn, a watershed engineering manager with the San Antonio River Authority, noted:
"Texas in general goes back and forth from being very drought-stricken to where we get these heavy rainfalls that occur within a few hours."
Neither drought nor hard rain is new to Texas and Oklahoma, whose histories are filled with excessive wet periods and extreme dry spells.
This cycle was spinning before we began emitting CO2 and it will still be spinning after our CO2 emissions have ceased.
These are facts, but some want the rest of us to forget them."

Teacher Expels Muslim Students for Cheating... But They Got Their Terrifying Revenge:

"Islam, the so-called “religion of peace,” is most harsh toward unbelievers, but make no mistake — they’ll terrorize fellow Muslims without hesitation, especially if a woman is involved.

After an unnamed female teacher at a respectable preparatory school in Cairo failed a group of male students on their final exam because she caught them cheating, they decided to exact revenge after school in a horrific way."

Welfare Jihad in Europe

Welfare Jihad in Europe
  • Social welfare fraud of the kind perpetrated in Denmark is being repeated throughout Europe.
  • Because Anjem Choudary's welfare payments are not taxed, his income is equivalent to a £32,500 ($50,000) salary. By comparison, the average annual earnings of full-time workers in Britain was £26,936 ($41,000) in 2014.
  • A Swedish soldier deployed in Afghanistan said that he was likely to get less help when he came back to Sweden than returning jihadists were.
More than 30 Danish jihadists have collected unemployment benefits totaling 379,000 Danish krone (€51,000; $55,000) while fighting with the Islamic State in Syria, according to leaked intelligence documents.
The fraud, which was reported by Television 2 Danmark on May 18, comes less than six months after the Danish newspaper BT revealed that Denmark had paid unemployment benefits to 28 other jihadists while they were waging war in Syria.
The disclosures show that Islamists continue to exploit European social welfare systems to finance their activities both at home and abroad — costing European taxpayers potentially millions of euros each year.

...In April, it emerged that the parents of Omar Abdel Hamid El-Hussein — a Danish-Jordanian jihadist responsible for the terror attacks in Copenhagen in February 2015 in which two people died — have been welfare recipients in Denmark for more than 20 years. Omar's parents received a total of 3.8 million krone between 1994 and 2014, amounting to roughly 500,000 euros or $560,000.

Social welfare fraud of the kind perpetrated in Denmark is being repeated throughout Europe.

In Austria, police arrested 13 jihadists in November 2014 who were allegedly collecting welfare payments to finance their trips to Syria. Among those detained was Mirsad Omerovic, 32, an extremist Islamic preacher who police say raised several hundred thousand euros for the war in Syria. A father of six who lives exclusively off the Austrian welfare state, Omerovic has benefited from additional payments for paternity leave (Väterkarenz).

'Ferguson Effect': America's New Crime Wave Is All Part of the Plan

'Ferguson Effect': America's New Crime Wave Is All Part of the Plan - Breitbart:
The Wall Street Journal is calling the dramatic end of America’s two-decade-long drop in crime “The Ferguson Effect.”
Led behind the scenes by President Obama, America’s fraudulent civil rights leaders (Al Sharpton) and the mainstream media (especially CNN), worked together — starting with their lies in Ferguson — to launch hate campaigns against the police.
The result is an empowered criminal element and by extension a horrific increase in murders, shootings, and other violent crimes:
Gun violence is up more than 60% compared with this time last year, according to Baltimore police, with 32 shootings over Memorial Day weekend. May has been the most violent month the city has seen in 15 years.
In Milwaukee, homicides were up 180% … Through April, shootings in St. Louis were up 39%, robberies 43%, and homicides 25%. “Crime is the worst I’ve ever seen it,” said St. Louis Alderman Joe Vacarro at a May 7 City Hall hearing.
Murders in Atlanta were up 32%… Shootings in Chicago had increased 24% and homicides 17%. Shootings and other violent felonies in Los Angeles had spiked by 25%; in New York, murder was up nearly 13%, and gun violence 7%. …
Shooting incidents are up 500% in an East Harlem precinct compared with last year; in a South Central Los Angeles police division, shooting victims are up 100%.
And who are the victims here?
Not just the predominantly poor people who huddle in these cities, these are mostly black people.

For nearly two years in the mid-eighties I lived in the worst parts of Milwaukee’s inner-city.
Crime and the fear of crime is by far the worst part of being poor.
If you have a place to live, heat, and food, you can deal with not having much money.
Living in constant fear, though, of opening your front door, walking to your car, waiting for a bus, or taking the stairs, is a living nightmare.
It’s like living in a Vampire movie.
No, really.
Unless you’ve experienced it, I know of no other way to describe it.
Anything outside of a locked home after dark is filled with an indescribable dread of a very real danger.
And that’s what life is like for everyone.
Now imagine being mugged, having your car stolen and your apartment burglarized on top of all that. All of that happened to my wife and I during those two years.
We got the hell out. It wasn’t easy but we did.
A lot of people don’t.
Sadly, this stunning and unnecessary increase in crime is all part of the Left’s plan.
You paralyze the cops with persecution, justify riots and looting, and by extension empower the criminals.
The result is city-wide chaos, despair, and hopelessness.
The result is victims desperate for someone to blame and even more dependent on a central government.
The result is an empowered central government with even more control over the lives of those most in need of empowerment, not dependence.
Keep ‘em down.
Keep ‘em angry.
Pretend you are their savior not their oppressor, and keep ‘em voting for the very thing destroying them: big government and the Democrats who control it.
This sinister plot is no secret.
It’s openly called the Cloward-Piven Strategy.
The Ferguson Effect isn’t a bug, it’s a feature.
#BlackLivesMatter?
Don’t make me laugh.

Black Lives are nothing more than sacrifices to the cause of empowering the elite few who control the levers of Central Government."

Denver spends big money on controversial public art

Denver spends big money on controversial public art - Watchdog.org
Three, 20-foot lanterns stand in front of Denver County’s troubled jail in a bleak industrial area off Havana Street and Smith Road, but the artist and city say the roughly $200,000 taxpayers spent on the public art could help take a bite out of crime.
“The art suggests fresh ways of interpreting the experiences of people who live and work in this area,” “Havana Lanterns” creator David Griggs was quoted in a city news release.
“By revealing these opportunities, the art can suggest alternatives to recidivism, and it can reflect upon hope, renewal, and inspiration of new beginnings.”

SEE THE LIGHT: The city stands by the allegedly restorative and reform properties of this public art.
In 1988, then-Mayor Federico Peña signed an executive order requiring all building projects that cost $1 million or more to dedicate 1 percent to public art, and since then Denver taxpayers have paid nearly $32 million for sometimes controversial art projects, city records show.
In 1991, the City Council passed an ordinance mirroring Peña’s executive order for new building projects, which are often funded by bond issues and tax increase initiatives..."
