Obama to visit Alaska on climate change trip--won't go to Animas River

Marathon Pundit: Obama to visit Alaska on climate change trip--won't go to Animas River:
"Coming off two successive brutally cold winters, President Obama and his aerial armada will burn gallons and gallons of jet fuel to give a speech on global warming in Alaska.
He can easily give that same climate change address in the White House Rose Garden.
Speaking of the environment, Obama's EPA caused a toxic waste spill in Colorado's Animas River. The president will not be visiting that site, which is closer to Washington than Alaska is."

Glenn Beck’s Electrifying ‘Never Again Is Now’ Speech Poses Major Challenge: ‘Stand Against the Tide of Evil’ | TheBlaze.com:

"From the violent and murderous actions of the Islamic State and the Charlie Hebdo massacre in Paris to the undercover Planned Parenthood videos that purport to show the sale of aborted fetal tissue, Beck said that he has “never felt evil this close.”

“For the most part, we have looked away. We avert our eyes. We do it because, if we don’t, we come face to face with the reality of the situation,” Beck said. “Facing that would stop us cold and dead in our tracks — and that is how evil works. It makes itself so unbelievably outrageous … so difficult to comprehend… that ordinary people just don’t allow themselves to confront it, because it’s too painful.”

Take a Lesson From Trump: Stand Up to the Media

TAKE A LESSON FROM TRUMP: STAND UP TO THE MEDIA
There are several reasons why Donald Trump is popular with Republicans, even though he probably isn’t a Republican himself, and certainly is not a conservative.
One of them is the way he stands up to left-wing media.
This is a classic, from earlier today:
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said “CNN is terrible” after one of its reporters asked him about protesters outside his press conference in Norwood, MA on Friday.
After being asked about the protesters outside the event, Trump stated, “I don’t see many protesters. I see thousands of people, and there’s a few protesters. And I figured you’d ask that question because you know — no, that’s the way it is. CNN is terrible. CNN, you’re with CNN? Are you with CNN?”
After the reporter answered that they were, Trump continued, “You people do not cover us accurately at all. So they have a few protesters outside, and they have thousands of people, and the first question from CNN is about protesters.”
Exactly: don’t acquiesce in the liberals’ implicit claims of superiority.
Push back, and name reporters for what they are–Democratic Party operatives.
All other Republicans in the race should do the same.

2009 ABC Report Pictured Apocalyptic Climate Effects [VIDEO]

2009 ABC Report Pictured Apocalyptic Climate Effects [VIDEO] | The Daily Caller
ABC News ran a news special in 2009 called Earth 2100, a program warning its viewers about the dangers of climate change.
ABC News correspondent Bob Woodruff says the show “puts participants in the future and asks them to report back about what it is like to live in this future world.
The first stop is the year 2015.”
A Harvard University professor says, “We’re going to see more floods, more droughts, more wildfires.”

Other voices can be heard saying that “Flames cover hundreds of square mile” and “We expect more intense hurricanes.”
Another voice says, “Well, how warm is it going to get? How much will sea level rise? We don’t know really know where the end is.”
Describing dangerous temperature levels and dropping agricultural production, the news package brings in The Weather Channel’s Heidi Cullen, who says, “There’s about one billion people who are malnourished. That number just continually grows.”
The doomsday predictions for 2015 go further and include $12.00 for a gallon of milk and $9.00 a gallon for gasoline, if there is any gas at all that is left.

Newsbusters notes that then ABC anchor Chris Cuomo, who teased the special at the time, said to Woodruff of the predictions, “I think we’re familiar with some of these issues, but, boy, 2015? That’s seven years from now. Could it really be that bad?”
Woodruff replies, “It’s very soon, you know.
But all you have to do is look at the world today right today.
You know, you’ve got gas prices going up.
You got food prices going up.
You’ve got extreme weather.
The scientists have studied this for decades.
They say if you connect the dots, you can actually see that we’re approaching maybe even a perfect storm.
Or you have got shrinking resources, population growth.
Climate change.
So, the idea now is to look at it, wake up about it and then try to do something to fix it.”

The scam is a scam is a scam.......The Green Energy Scam Exposed by . . . Berkeley!?!

The Green Energy Scam Exposed by . . . Berkeley!?! | Power Line
"The Energy Institute at the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley has posted a working paper entitled “The Distributional Effects of U.S. Clean Energy Tax Credits.”
The paper is a devastating indictment of who’s getting Cecil the Lion’s share of the tax credits.
If this were any other cause than “green energy,” the Left would be screaming about the redistribution of income from the middle class to the upper class.

Here’s the complete abstract:
Since 2006, U.S. households have received more than $18 billion in federal income tax credits for weatherizing their homes, installing solar panels, buying hybrid and electric vehicles, and other “clean energy” investments.
We use tax return data to examine the socioeconomic characteristics of program recipients.
We find that these tax expenditures have gone predominantly to higher-income Americans.
The bottom three income quintiles have received about 10% of all credits, while the top quintile has received about 60%.
The most extreme is the program aimed at electric vehicles, where we find that the top income quintile has received about 90% of all credits.
By comparing to previous work on the distributional consequences of pricing greenhouse gas emissions, we conclude that tax credits are likely to be much less attractive on distributional grounds than market mechanisms to reduce GHGs.
The “green energy” world is corrupt all the way down."

University of Tennessee tells staff and students to stop using 'he' and 'she'

University of Tennessee tells staff and students to stop using 'he' and 'she' | Daily Mail Online:
"University of Tennessee tells staff and students to stop using 'he' and 'she' - and switch to 'xe', 'zir' and 'xyr' instead
  • Gay rights official at Knoxville campus wrote new language instructions
  • Tells students and staff to use unusual, gender-neutral pronouns like 'xe'
  • Donna Braquet said that the new regime would make campus 'inclusive'
  • University clarified that guidelines are not compulsory after critics called them 'absurd'
The University of Tennessee has told its staff and students to stop calling each other 'he', 'she', 'him' and 'her' - and to start referring to one another with terms like 'xe', 'zir' and 'xyr' instead.
The Knoxville branch of the public university, which has 27,400 students, sent a memo round to its members filled with unusual new parts of speech to avoid referring to anybody's gender.
According to a gay rights official at the university, the new language regime will make the university 'welcoming and inclusive' and stop people feeling 'marginalized'.

The university published the instructions on its website on Wednesday after they were emailed to every member of the university by the institution's Vice Chancellor for Diversity.
Officials have since insisted the the guidelines are not compulsory and that they do not want to 'dictate speech'.
Donna Braquet, who runs the university's Pride Center, wrote the guidelines, which are accompanied with a long table demonstrating how to replace the regular parts of speech."

The FDA Targets Vegan Mayonnaise

The FDA Targets Vegan Mayonnaise - Hit & Run : Reason.com:
"Once again proving itself more national busybody than necessary defender of consumer safety, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is cracking down on potentially misleading mayonnaise labeling.
Specifically, the agency objects to Hampton Creek vegan mayonnaise, a condiment that mimics traditional mayonnaise without using egg yolks.
In a warning letter sent to Hampton Creek earlier this month, the FDA noted several "significant violations" of federal regulations.
The first complaint is that Hampton Creek uses the term "cholesterol free" on the label of its "Just Mayo" products.
Nevermind that Just Mayo is, indeed, a cholesterol-free food.
While the FDA allows foods with up to two milligrams of cholesterol per serving to bear claims that they're free of cholesterol, this statement is forbidden on products "customarily consumed" in small amounts if they a) have more than 13 grams of fat per 50 grams and b) fail to "disclose the level of total fat in a serving of the product in immediate proximity to the cholesterol claim."
The FDA also claims Hampton Creek's Just Mayo and Just Mayo Siracha are "misbranded" because they do not meet federal requirements for calling something mayonnaise.
Under federal law, only foods 1) containing at least 65 percent vegetable oil, 2)vinegar and/or lemon juice, and 3) some sort of egg-yolk product may be labeled mayonnaise.
It can also contain preservatives, salt, sweeteners, spices, flavoring, and monosodium glutamate, but only "provided it does not impart to the mayonnaise a color simulating the color imparted by egg yolk."
Any other ingredients are forbidden.
Want to sell mayonnaise with an egg substitute, lime juice, or slightly less vegetable oil?
Too bad—the FDA does not think the market can handle such ingredient chaos...
