We are all products of our experiences.  Everyone will encounter a wide range of emotional events in their lifetime.  On the scale of life, we sometimes have to journey to those outermost ends of the scale.  We experience extreme highs, which we never want to end and miserable lows, which can’t end soon enough.  Finding a spot which keeps life reasonably balanced is most desirable.

As much as you would like, you cannot control everything in your life.  There will always be outside forces which will try to influence your spot on the scale. Numerous experiences will enrich your life. Many individuals and events play a positive role in shaping the path you travel.  There are also experiences where individuals or events will attempt to destroy you.  Finding a balance during such difficult times isn’t always easy. 

How you handle outside, destructive forces, plays a big part in how or if you survive the attack.  Sometimes you end up floating in misery for a while; that’s life and it’s unavoidable.  But, knowing when the life preserver has been thrown and then grabbing a hold of it, puts the control right back in your hands; tipping the scale back in your favor.  There comes a time when you have to decide, are you going to wallow and more than likely drown or are you going to swim and attempt to survive?

It truly comes down to survival.  Once you realize that your life and your liberty are priceless gifts, you will do everything you can to protect and defend them.......

Indeed, Clinton’s “ninety percent” claim is false according to her troubled charity’s own tax filings.
Peter Schweizer, president of the Government Accountability Institute, Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large, and author of Clinton Cash said the Clinton Foundation has spent as little as six percent of its total income on actual charitable endeavors.
“If you actually look at the numbers of their filings and 990s, that’s what it indicates,” Schweizer said last month in an interview with SiriusXM host Alex Marlow on Breitbart News Daily.

“The Clinton Foundation will say, ‘We assisted or facilitated in 100,000 kids getting immunizations.’ Well, okay, what does that mean?
And they don’t really tell you.
They don’t really explain to you how it works.”

Political analyst Sean Davis, the co-founder of The Federalist and a former adviser to Sen. Tom Coburn and Gov. Rick Perry, examined the Clinton Foundation’s 2013 tax filings and found that “Hillary Clinton’s non-profit spent more on office supplies and rent than it did on charitable grants.” 
“The Clinton Foundation spent nearly $8.5 million–10 percent of all 2013 expenditures–on travel,” Davis contends.
“Nearly $4.8 million–5.6 percent of all expenditures–was spent on office supplies.”"

But most researchers agree that the law has bent the cost curve upwards, and quite dramatically. 
For example:

• A Brookings 2014 study used actual data and found that "enrollment-weighted premiums in the individual health insurance market increased by 24.4% beyond what they would have had they simply followed…trends."

• S&P Global Institute found that average individual market medical costs increased substantially between 2013 and 2015, up an estimated 69%.

• 2014 insurer data shows that premiums for individual market Qualified Health Plans (QHPs), ACA-compliant plans certified to be sold on exchanges, were much higher than premiums for individual market non-QHPs, mostly plans in existence before 2014 that did not comply with the ACA.

First, the Asian brands rule the rankings.
The 10 brands rank 1-2-5-6-7-8-10-11-12-13, all in the top half. The average ranking is 7.5 (out of 29).
Kia and Hyundai are 5 and 7 (and no model was ranked below average), meaning the Korean brands are as good as the Japanese brands.
Thus you can buy most any Asian car coming off lease and expect decent reliability.
Among US automakers (meaning US-headquartered), Buick was the outlier with its third place finish, same as it earned on the J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Index three-year-reliability survey.
After that, the best for GM was Chevrolet in 15th among 29 brands...

"During the recent Democratic National Convention the delegates voted to adopt their party’s platform, a document that outlines the statement of principles and policies that the party has decided it will support.

Why should Christians care about a document that few non-politicians will ever read? 
Because of the influence the two major party platforms have on public policy. 
While the platform is not binding on the presidential nominee or any other politicians, political scientists have found that over the past 30 years lawmakers in Congress tend to vote in line with their party’s platform: 89 percent of the time for Republicans and 79 percent of the time for Democrats. 
For this reason we should be aware of what is proposed in these documents and how they may affect the welfare of our nation (Jeremiah 29:7).
This article will provide, without commentary, an outline of the Democratic platform as it relates to several social issues. 
Every statement is either a direct quote or a summary of the platform’s position. 
(Last week, we examined the GOP party’s platform and stance on these and related issues.)

...Opposes racial profiling that targets individuals solely on the basis of race, religion, ethnicity, or national origin.

Supports a requirement to make the Department of Justice investigate all “questionable or suspicious police-involved shootings.”

...Supports removing barriers to help formerly incarcerated individuals successfully re-enter society by “banning the box” (persuading employers to remove from their hiring applications the check box that asks if applicants have a criminal record). 

Supports executive action to “ban the box for federal employers and contractors, so applicants have an opportunity to demonstrate their qualifications before being asked about their criminal records.”

Supports expanding re-entry programs, and restoring voting rights for felons.

Supports, whenever possible, prioritizing prevention and treatment over incarceration when tackling addiction and substance use disorder.

Discrimination and Racial Issues

Supports ending discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, language, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability.

Supports promoting “racial justice through fair, just, and equitable governing of all public-serving institutions and in the formation of public policy.”

Supports removing the Confederate battle flag from public properties, “recognizing that it is a symbol of our nation's racist past that has no place in our present or our future.”

Calls for a “societal transformation to make it clear that black lives matter and that there is no place for racism in our country.”

I’ve been trying to figure out what common trait binds Clinton supporters together.
As far as I can tell, the most unifying characteristic is a willingness to bully in all its forms.

• If you have a Trump sign in your lawn, they will steal it.
• If you have a Trump bumper sticker, they will deface your car.
• If you speak of Trump at work you could get fired

On social media, almost every message I get from a Clinton supporter is a bullying type of message.

• They insult. 
• They try to shame. 
• They label. 
• And obviously they threaten my livelihood.
• We know from Project Veritas that Clinton supporters tried to incite violence at Trump rallies. 

The media downplays it.
We also know Clinton’s side hired paid trolls to bully online.
You don’t hear much about that.
Yesterday, by no coincidence, Huffington Post, Salon, and Daily Kos all published similar-sounding hit pieces on me, presumably to lower my influence.
(That reason, plus jealousy, are the only reasons writers write about other writers.)
Joe Biden said he wanted to take Trump behind the bleachers and beat him up. 
No one on Clinton’s side disavowed that call to violence because, I assume, they consider it justified hyperbole.
Team Clinton has succeeded in perpetuating one of the greatest evils I have seen in my lifetime.

Her side has branded Trump supporters (40%+ of voters) as Nazis, sexists, homophobes, racists, and a few other fighting words.
...The Clinton message is that some Americans are good people and the other 40% are some form of deplorables, deserving of shame, vandalism, punishing taxation, and violence.
She has literally turned Americans on each other.
It is hard for me to imagine a worse thing for a presidential candidate to do.
I’ll say that again.
As far as I can tell, the worst thing a presidential candidate can do is turn Americans against each other.
Clinton is doing that, intentionally.

You ‘freaked out’ students, so knock it off

Bracing for a day of canvassing and promoting liberty, Winski headed out Aug. 30 to collect signatures and gauge interest in starting a Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) chapter, accompanied by Abe Alassaf, a field representative for the conservative Leadership Institute.

Inside Falcon Hall, FSU was hosting its annual student organization fair. Outside, Winsky didn’t last an hour before campus police told him and Alassaf to stop.

“While campus security seemed sympathetic to his efforts, they explained that the student fair activities are the discretion of the police, and Winsky was too ‘outgoing’ in his efforts to collect signatures,” YAL Director of Communications Matthew Boyer said in a statement.

"About one-year ago, Gov. Jerry Brown signed the state’s assisted-suicide bill into law. 
It fully went into effect this June, with the opening of the first clinic. 
While there is no data on the number of California assisted-suicides, Oregon recorded over 130 last year as part of their legalized physician-assisted death program.

Now, one young mother says her insurance company denied her coverage for chemotherapy treatment after originally agreeing to provide the fiscal support for it, but indicated it would be willing to pay for assisted suicide instead.

Stephanie Packer, a wife and mother of four who was diagnosed with a terminal form of scleroderma, said her insurance company initially indicated it would pay for her to switch to a different chemotherapy drug at the recommendation of her doctors.

…But shortly after California’s End of Life Option Act, which authorizes physicians to diagnose a life-ending dose of medication to patients with a prognosis of six months or less to live, went into effect, Ms. Packer’s insurance company had a change of heart.

“And when the law was passed, it was a week later I received a letter in the mail saying they were going to deny coverage for the chemotherapy that we were asking for,” Ms. Packer said.

She said she called her insurance company to find out why her coverage had been denied. On the call, she also asked whether suicide pills were covered under her plan.

“And she says, ‘Yes, we do provide that to our patients, and you would only have to pay $1.20 for the medication,’” Ms. Packer said.

Packer attends meetings with others suffering from terminal illnesses. 
She indicates that the tone of those meetings have changed since the California assisted-suicide law was enacted.

“As soon as this law was passed – and you see it everywhere, when these laws are passed – patients fighting for a longer life end up getting denied treatment, because this will always be the cheapest option.”

Packer attends a support group for terminally ill patients. She said legally sanctioned suicide has changed the tone of the meetings, which used to be “positive and encouraging.” With patients under new societal pressure to kill themselves, she said meetings “became negative, and it started consuming people. And then they said, ‘You know what? I wish I could just end it.'”

Concerned about the enormous potential for abuse, a the national organization, Patients Rights Action Fund, has created a website for patients like Packer..."

Hardboy muscle, bottles and two by fours are street thuggery’s kinetics. 

Bottles and baseball bats are not Al Qaeda’s high explosives—but they incite fear and when they crack heads they cause casualties. 

People bleed. 

Street thuggery as an arm of politics is violent, criminalized politics on an ugly downward slope to much worse, the worse including lynchings and pogroms.

"Two University of Chicago students were arrested Monday after chaining themselves together and blocking traffic to protest for free college tuition.
The protest was part of a larger effort to sway an Art Institute of Chicago trustee who is also a major donor to Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner.
Donning caps and gowns, Johnathan Guy and Jessica Law chained themselves to two other protesters on Michigan Avenue in front of the Art Institute of Chicago until they were arrested, along with four other protesters, for impeding traffic, according to The Chicago Maroon.

AN IRAQI asylum seeker who confessed to raping a 10-year-old boy in a swimming pool, claiming it was a "sexual emergency", has had his conviction overturned.

This was a Viennese rape case that received quite a bit of coverage a few months ago, mainly because of the accused's defense that he was undergoing a "sexual emergency": Like almost 80 per cent of "refugees", Amir is a fit young man. He'd scrammed out of the country leaving his wife behind and therefore had not enjoyed conjugal relations for four months. Hence the "sexual emergency":

When the youngster went to the showers, Amir A. allegedly followed him, pushed him into a toilet cubicle, and violently sexually assaulted him.

Following the attack, the accused rapist returned to the pool and was practising on the diving board when police arrived, after the 10-year-old raised the alarm with the lifeguard.

The child suffered severe anal injuries which had to be treated at a local children's hospital, and is still plagued by serious post-traumatic stress disorder.

Amir was convicted of rape and serious sexual assault of a minor and sentenced to six years. However, the Austrian Supreme Court has now quashed the verdict. But hang on, didn't the guy confess? Ah, yes, but...

The Supreme Court yesterday overturned the conviction, accepting the defence lawyer's claim that the original court had not done enough to ascertain whether or not the rapist realised the child was saying no...

You might think the screams would have been a clue there, but apparently not:

The appeal court said the initial ruling should have dealt with whether the offender thought that the victim had agreed with the sexual act, or whether he had intended to act against his will.

The state determines the amount of money the pension system needs each year based on an actuarial assessment that looks at how much is being earned in benefits by employees and how much the state still owes in pension debt.
This is different from Social Security and Medicare, where the government sets a contribution rate and leaves it unchanged.
The amount the state is supposed to pay for the school pension system has increased with the system’s growing unfunded liabilities.
The recommended inputs increased from $1 billion in 2009 to $2.2 billion in 2015, as unfunded liabilities increased from $12.0 billion to $26.7 billion.
(This is in addition to other contributions made to provide subsidized medical insurance to school retirees.)..."

"In the current election environment, in which the media have determined that boorish behavior toward women in the past is the principle issue facing the Republic, attention inevitably goes to Bill Clinton, who was, after all impeached in the wake of a sexual scandal in which he perjured himself.

Kerry Pickett of The Daily Caller has an illuminating piece, in which she explains how tens of thousands of pages of impeachment documents, the contents of voluminous investigations under oath, are hidden away from the pubic eye. 
She then quotes from a radio interview on American Family Radio’s Sandy Rios show Friday with Thomas Shippers, the Democrat who was appointed chief investigative counsel for the House Judiciary Committee. I recommend reading the entire piece, but here is one important excerpt:

“When they announced they had all the materials in the room, I put my staff together and said, ‘Alright-look, if this is nothing but Monica Lewinsky—if this is nothing but sex, we’ll be out of here in a couple of weeks.Here’s what we’re gonna do. We’re gonna look at everything. We’re gonna listen to everything. We’re gonna read every word. Each one of us is going to do it.’”He added, “There were some 60,000 documents in there plus telephone calls–all kind of stuff.” (snip)Schippers says that after two weeks he sat his team of investigators down and asked each one for their reaction to what they read.“And one by one they said, ‘He’s gotta go. The man’s a perjurer. He’s been after women. He’s been doing everything in his power to shut everybody up. The man should be impeached.’ So, I went to Henry Hyde and I said, ‘They’re going to recommend an impeachment inquiry,’” Schippers said.

Oh, and by the way, Schippers makes it clear that the Senate trial of Bill Clinton was fixed."

"Truly touching moments of humanity, ethics and morals are rather rare in warfare. 
The Christmas Truce of WWI was an excellent example of such humanity, as were the heroic actions of German Luftwaffe fighter pilot Franz Stigler on December 20th, 1943. 
His actions got nine men home for Christmas.
Charlie Brown of the USAAF was a Lt. flying his first mission as an aircraft commander flying a B-17, “Ye Olde Pub” on a bombing run over Bremen. Brown’s bomber occupied the especially dangerous left of the formation, sometimes called the Purple Heart Corner. 
Bremen was defended by a large contingent of fighters and well-manned flak guns. 
Two B-17s were quickly struck by heavy flak, and many went down. 
Brown’s bomber was hit at least once in the left wing. 
The crew had to shut down an engine which took them out of the formation. 
Soon they were met by about eight enemy fighters.
The B-17 was sometimes referred to as the flying porcupine and Ye Olde Pub sure lived up to the name. 
The gunners took out at least one of the fighters and as many as three, all on their own. 
The remaining fighters were still able to take the fight to the bomber, however, and bullets tore through Ye Olde Pub.
The tail gunner, Sergeant Hugh “Ecky” Eckenrode, was killed as large sections of the tail were shot apart. 
Nine more crewmen were injured, some very badly wounded. 
The electrical, hydraulic and oxygen systems were damaged. 
Brown was wounded in the shoulder, and the seriously wounded had little reprieve as the morphine syringes were frozen.
Oxygen deprivation and wounds caused Brown to black out momentarily as the bomber spiraled towards the earth. 
Brown woke up and said that his first memory was of dodging trees. 
The wounds and lack of oxygen made his memory hazy, but from the severe damage and drop in altitude, it is assumed that the German fighters figured that their target was destined to crash.
Brown was able to get some altitude just as German pilot Franz Stigler was refueling. 
Stigler saw the bomber and quickly flew up to get above and behind it. 
Stigler was a veteran pilot who would eventually serve over 400 combat missions in nearly every front of the war. 
Flying the Me 109, Stigler was one bomber kill away from earning the high honor of the Knight’s Cross.
Stigler observed the bomber, waiting for the tail gunner to raise his guns. 
Seeing the limp rear guns, he moved closer and saw the massive amount of damage. 
Bullet holes were present all over the aircraft. Stigler knew that most of the men had to be badly wounded..."
