California Democrats legalize child prostitution | Washington Examiner:
"Beginning on Jan. 1, prostitution by minors will be legal in California. Yes, you read that right.
SB 1322 bars law enforcement from arresting sex workers who are under the age of 18 for soliciting or engaging in prostitution, or loitering with the intent to do so. So teenage girls (and boys) in California will soon be free to have sex in exchange for money without fear of arrest or prosecution."

Scott Adams (Dilbert Author): The Climate Science Challenge | Watts Up With That?
Scott Adams, author of the famous Dilbert Cartoon, has challenged readers to find a qualified scientist who thinks climate models do a good job of predicting the future.
Will any scientist rise to the Scott Adams challenge?"
Scott Adams, author of the famous Dilbert Cartoon, has challenged readers to find a qualified scientist who thinks climate models do a good job of predicting the future.
The Climate Science ChallengeI keep hearing people say that 97% of climate scientists are on the same side of the issue. Critics point out that the number is inflated, but we don’t know by how much. Persuasion-wise, the “first offer” of 97% is so close to 100% that our minds assume the real number is very high even if not exactly 97%.That’s good persuasion. Trump uses this method all the time. The 97% anchor is so strong that it is hard to hear anything else after that. Even the people who think the number is bogus probably think the real figure is north of 90%.But is it? I have no idea.So today’s challenge is to find a working scientist or PhD in some climate-related field who will agree with the idea that the climate science models do a good job of predicting the future.Notice I am avoiding the question of the measurements. That’s a separate question. For this challenge, don’t let your scientist conflate the measurements or the basic science of CO2 with the projections. Just ask the scientist to offer an opinion on the credibility of the models only... More. Read on!

Climate models are the core of the climate scare, but even the scientists who produce them know their predictive powers are weak...
The following presentation by Pat Frank details some of the devastating predictive weaknesses of climate models, especially their poor statistical management of uncertainty.Obama’s weak foreign policy has emboldened our enemies and discouraged our allies – TheBlaze
Obama’s weak foreign policy has emboldened our enemies and discouraged our allies – TheBlaze:
"In Mike’s view, President Obama’s weak foreign policy has emboldened our enemies and discouraged our allies. In particular, Obama’s refusal to stand up for Israel has disrupted the delicate balance of power in the Holy Land.
“The problem with American policies right now is that our enemies don’t fear us, but more importantly our allies don’t trust us,” "

"The New York Times reports on "the spirit of camaraderie in hair salons":
"They say that the hairdresser gets all the secrets," Ms. Smith said. "They let go here. Everybody doesn't talk, but once you build a relationship with someone, that's when it happens. It's just like when you have a best girlfriend."A new state rule taking effect on Jan. 1 recognizes that the unique relationship between hairdressers and their customers may help curb domestic abuse and sexual assault. The amendment to a law that governs the cosmetology industry will require salon workers to take one hour of training every two years to recognize the signs of abuse and assault and will provide them with a list of resources to which they can refer clients for help.Without the training, cosmetologists in Illinois will not be able to renew their licenses. The professionals covered by the rule — believed to be the first in the nation — include hairstylists, nail technicians and aestheticians.
Let's just run that again:
In Illinois, if you don't do your domestic-abuse training course every two years, you'll lose your hairdressing license - and your livelihood..."

The "Renegade Republican" Dan Bongino can’t believe this story is being ignored.
Filling in for CR's editor in chief on "The Mark Levin Show," Bongino brought attention to a story from The Wall Street Journal about Operation Choke Point — the Obama-Lynch Justice Department’s scandalous, mafia-like extortion of businesses the Left loves to target.
Listen:
“Operation Choke Point,” Bongino explained, “was the Obama administration’s effort to get banks to stop providing funding mechanisms and banking services to industries they didn’t like.”
What kind of industries?
Ammo manufacturers and firearms companies, for example, are legal enterprises Attorney General Loretta Lynch's Department of (in)Justice stifled by cutting off their ability to access financial services.

“You are using the monopolistic power of force!” said Bongino.

Are men culturally appropriating cupcakes from women? According to Prof. Irina Michalache of the University of Toronto, the “versatility and rather loose historical associations of cupcakes” have — get this — “allowed for its appropriation by a most unexpected population— men.” The author also alleges that cupcakes are “both a feminist statement and proof of postfeminist domesticity.”
Communications Prof. Rachel E. Dubrofsky at the University of South Florida says: “Cyrus and Swift operate in a post racial context where people of color and racialized aesthetics are featured, but where race itself is unimportant, and racism is a thing of the past.”...
Perhaps the most infamous case study of 2016 rammed us with “feminist glaciology” in the peer-reviewed journal Progress in Human Geography. The study, published in January, notes that “relationships among gender, science, and glaciers” have been “understudied” (who knew they were being studied at all?), and it seeks to solve that by “proposing a feminist glaciology framework.” The article was funded by a $412,000 grant from the National Science Foundation. The primary author is Prof. Mark Carey of the University of Oregon, whose curriculum vitae says that since 2008 he has been a recipient or co-recipient of at least $2.3 million from the NSF between four different grants.

"The war could be over in Syria.
A peace is being negotiated on Putin’s terms, signaling a drastic shift away from American hegemony and unipolar world order.
Assad’s forces, fully backed by Russia, finally secured a decisive defeat in Aleppo, turning the tide for the factions of “moderate rebels” and “ISIS terrorists” that have been ruling intermittently in pockets of Syria.
Now, with targeted diplomats and larger threats to peace, President Putin has scored a psychological victory over the West, negotiating a peace in Syria in which the U.S. and NATO have no official involvement.
The deal could lead to a new political system in Syria that would break the country into three sub-states, and a formal federal overlay, inherent in the tensions surrounding the embattled state.
President Assad would retain power for a short time, before being replaced by a new leader.
