Quotation of the day on the doctrine of state supremacy…..

Blog » AEIdeas:

…. is from Isabel Paterson’s book The God of the Machine (1943):
Every politically controlled educational system will inculcate the doctrine of state supremacy sooner or later. . . . Once that doctrine has been accepted, it becomes an almost superhuman task to break the stranglehold of the political power over the life of the citizen. It has had his body, property and mind in its clutches from infancy. An octopus would sooner release its prey. A tax-supported, compulsory educational system is the complete model of the totalitarian state.
MP: See my related 1995 article The Educational Octopus where I conclude that:
Image result for public schools failThere is no surer way to guarantee that our children continue to receive an inferior education than to continue educating 90 percent of our children in the public school system. Education is far too important a responsibility to leave in the hands of a government bureaucracy whose monopoly status allows it to be insensitive and unaccountable to parents and students.
Related: According to Glenn Reynolds, who has said this on many occasions that “sending your kids to public school verges on parental malpractice, these days.”

The ugly Americans

The ugly Americans - - Articles -:
"If your career is on the skids, try this: Join the mobs against Trump and tell them you have dreams of  “blowing up the White House.”
That was Madonna who said that amid the anti-Trump hysteria in Washington on Sunday and now she’s famous all over again.
Haven’t heard from her in years.
Ditto Gloria Steinem and so many other forlorn and forgotten figures from the women’s movement of the past.
They’re back.
They have a cause.
Nobody’s really clear on what that is, except for the fact that we took away their boy toy, Barack Hussein Obama.
Already for them Donald Trump has been in office too long – 48 hours or so.
Afflicted by a form of Mad Cow Disease, a million or so leftist women scorned Trump across the country for daring to be Trump.
They’re afraid of what Trump is going to do.
Tell you what, ladies – when he bursts past your door and snatches your rights and your puppy, then go march.
If it’s tolerance you’re really after, try it yourselves some day.
Was that really Ashley Judd up there on stage raving mad?
I guess they let her out for a day..."

Trey Gowdy's New Role In Trump's White House Has Obama Very Pissed Off ⋆ US Herald

Trey Gowdy's New Role In Trump's White House Has Obama Very Pissed Off ⋆ US Herald:

"Dust off your Constitution, brush up on the Bill of Rights, and while you’re at it, take a look at the Declaration of Independence, Congressman Trey Gowdy has been given a new role within the Trump Administration, and although it hasn’t yet been officially announced, you can bet those progressive lawmakers who subscribe to playing fast and lose with our institutions might do well to rip up the Obama/Clinton progressive playbook in how to subvert our laws."

DNC Chair Candidate: My Job Is To Tell White People When To Shut Their Mouths

DNC Chair Candidate: My Job Is To Tell White People When To Shut Their Mouths | Video | RealClearPolitics:
The DNC held a forum for candidates hoping to become chairman of the Democratic National Committee on Monday at George Washington University.
One candidate, Sally Boynton Brown, the executive director of Idaho's Democratic Party, urged Democrats to provide "training" to teach people to be "sensitive" and "how to shut their mouths if they are white."

"My job is to shut other white people down when they want to interrupt," Brown said.
SALLY BOYNTON BROWN: I’m a white woman, I don’t get it...

My job is to listen and be a voice and shut other white people down when they want to interrupt...

We pull people in and they are volunteers. They don’t know anything and then we send them out to have conversations with people, hard conversations. We promote them to chair of a party where they have power and they have no clue what they are doing. We have to, at the DNC, provide training. We have to teach them how to communicate, how to be sensitive and how to shut their mouths if they are white. So I think I made my point.

Governor Greg Abbott hammers a Texas sheriff after she refuses to comply with immigration laws – TheBlaze

Governor Greg Abbott hammers a Texas sheriff after she refuses to comply with immigration laws – TheBlaze:

"Texas Governor Greg Abbott has given no quarter in his war against sanctuary cities within his state. He has already made himself “abundantly clear” in making sure any towns within the state of Texas obey immigration laws, and that he doesn’t “care what jurisdiction you’re at in the state of Texas. You are going to comply with the law.”

It would appear that Abbott may have to back up his word against Travis County Sheriff Sally Hernandez, who has forbid anyone in her offices to work with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

In a letter sent to Hernandez, Abbott called her directive “dangerous” and “shortsighted,”"

Employment Boom: 10 Companies That Have Promised To Add Jobs In The United States Since Trump Was Elected

Employment Boom: 10 Companies That Have Promised To Add Jobs In The United States Since Trump Was Elected:
One of the primary things that Trump’s presidency will be judged upon is his ability to encourage the creation of good paying jobs for American workers, and so far the results have been quite promising.
Since Trump’s surprise election victory in November, a whole bunch of companies have either promised to bring jobs back into the country or have pledged to create new ones.
Ultimately time will tell if those jobs actually materialize, but for the moment there is a tremendous amount of optimism in the air.
In fact, I don’t know if we have ever seen anything quite like this at the beginning of a new presidency.
The following are 10 companies that have promised to add jobs in the United States since the election of Donald Trump…
#1 Kroger says that it intends to fill 10,000 permanent positions in the United States this year.
#2 IBM has announced that it will be hiring an additional 25,000 workers in the United States over the next four years.
#3 Foxconn is considering setting up a 7 billion dollar plant in the United States that would create between 30,000 and 50,000 jobs.
#4 Amazon.com has pledged to add 100,000 full-time jobs in the United States by mid-2018.
#5 Wal-Mart has announced that it plans to add approximately 10,000 retail jobs in the United States in 2017.
#6 Sprint has announced that 5,000 jobs will be brought back to the United States instead of going overseas.
#7 After meeting with Trump, the CEO of SoftBank stated his intention to create 50,000 new jobs in the United States.
Hiring - Public Domain#8 After a phone call from Trump, industrial manufacturing giant Carrier promised to keep hundreds of jobs in the United States instead of moving them out of the country.
#9 Hyundai has promised to spend 3.1 billion dollars supporting their current factories in Georgia and Alabama, and they have said that they are now considering adding an additional factory in the United States as well.
#10 GM has pledged to invest a billion dollars in U.S. factories and to add or keep 7,000 jobs in the United States.
...Over the past several decades, formerly great manufacturing cities such as Detroit have been reduced to urban hellholes.
Meanwhile, China has become exceedingly wealthy and gleaming new factories have sprouted like mushrooms in their major cities.
This didn’t happen by accident.
Bad decisions lead to bad results.
And if we had kept on doing the same things, we would have continued to systematically impoverish our nation.
For more than seven years, I have been hammering home the message that our trade policies have been absolutely killing us.
So I am quite thankful that we finally have a president that understands these things..."

Pope Francis Just Sent Crazy Lib Women’s Marchers A Brutal Message, It Shut Them Up – Conservative 101

Pope Francis Just Sent Crazy Lib Women’s Marchers A Brutal Message, It Shut Them Up – Conservative 101:

"These foolish Democrats made signs and participated in marches to try to silence our President Donald Trump, but they just ended up looking like overheated losers on national television. To add insult to injury, Pope Francis laid waste to their protesting with a powerful message that exposed them for the frauds they are.

In stark opposition to the march led by abortion-loving liberal women, Christians in France are holding a March for Life in Paris. The Pope handed down a strongly worded message praising the March for Life and condemning liberals who continue to advocate for killing unborn children."

Does the left have a drug problem?

Blog: Does the left have a drug problem?:
"I remain dumbfounded at the left’s continual episodes of tantrums and meltdowns, and since last week, things have only gotten worse – a lot worse.
Last week, Marc Lamont Hill, professor at Morehouse College, characterized Jim Brown, Steve Harvey, Martin Luther King III, and others as “mediocre negroes being dragged in front of TV as a photo-op for Donald Trump.”
Image result for liberals on drugsOver the weekend, actor Shia Laboeuf put a uniquely bizarre shouting tantrum on full display; actress Ashley Judd said President Trump has wet dreams about his daughter, Ivanka; and to cap it off, Madonna proclaimed that she has “thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House.”
In the background of all this were anti-Trump protesters throwing rocks and fireworks at police outside a Milo Yiannopoulos event at the University of Washington; the beating of a high school Trump supporter at the same event; the assault on pollster Frank Luntz at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, D.C.; and a woman threatening to throw up on a Trump supporter’s lap on an commercial airplane.
What a week!
As I had to admit to myself that I had never seen anything like this before, I started to search for answers.
I couldn’t help but wonder, and I am not using hyperbole, if drugs could be one of the many factors that could help to explain, at least in part, some of these activities.
Drug use within the entertainment industry and the mindless plebeians who worship them is well known.
No news there, but what about the overwhelmingly liberal academia or media?
I suspect that drugs could be playing a significant role, especially among those susceptible to the pressures of  “publish or perish” or like pressures..."

Fierce backlash after woman suggests assassinating Trump

Fierce backlash after woman suggests assassinating Trump:

"A Kentucky woman is facing serious backlash from the public and her own employers after suggesting on Twitter it would be “kind” for someone to assassinate Donald Trump, who was inaugurated as president three days later.

Heather Lowrey, who described herself as a Louisville vixen and aspiring wrestling diva on her Twitter profile before going into electronic hiding, tweeted the message Jan.17:"

Fake News: Three Mainstream Media Lies on Trump's First Day

Fake News: Three Mainstream Media Lies on Trump's First Day
"The mainstream media lost no time in attempting to undermine President Donald Trump, as opposed to actually reporting information...

  • Lie #1: President Trump was focused on the crowd size at the inauguration. He mentioned it in passing in his speech at the CIA, and Press Secretary Sean Spicer took the media to task for trying to downplay attendance figures. But to say — as CNN’s Anderson Cooper did — that crowd size was Trump’s focus on his first day in office is simply absurd...
  • Lie #2: President Trump insulted the CIA. Extending the faux outrage at Lie #1, the mainstream media criticized Trump for talking about crowd size in front of the CIA’s memorial wall for agents who have died in the course of their duties. The media showed considerably less concern when President Barack Obama spoke before the same wall about the release of the prior administration’s interrogation memos, impugning the integrity of the CIA and giving valuable intelligence to terrorists.
  • Lie #3: The anti-Trump protests in Washington, D.C. were important. The protests were nothing more than the venting of outrage at Trump’s election. For all the talk of “women’s rights,” there was nothing particular to point to that Trump had done about anything relating to women. The demonstration was large, but also disorganized, as well as vulgar, and protesters left heaps of trash over the various routes they took, including protest signs abandoned at Union Station as they left the capital."

Obama Lies on Voter ID: Many Countries Require It

Obama Lies on Voter ID: Many Countries Require It | National Review:
"He claimed that other countries don’t have voter-ID laws, though many do.
Image result for obama vote fraud liesPresident Obama is known for telling some whoppers — “If you like your health-care plan, you can keep it” is perhaps the most infamous – so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that he told a final one as president right before leaving office last week.
At his final press conference, Obama promised that he would continue to fight voter-ID laws and other measures designed to improve voting integrity.
The U.S. is “the only country among advanced democracies that makes it harder to vote,” he claimed. “It traces directly back to Jim Crow and the legacy of slavery, and it became sort of acceptable to restrict the franchise. . . . This whole notion of election-voting fraud, this is something that has constantly been disproved. This is fake news.”
The argument over whether or not there is voter fraud will rage on, in part because the Obama administration has spent eight years blocking states from gaining access to federal lists of non-citizen and other possibly illegal voters.
Even so, there is abundant evidence that voter fraud is easy to commit..."

This Tweet From One Women’s March Organizer Shows How NUTS The Left's Worldview Is

This Tweet From One Women’s March Organizer Shows How NUTS The Left's Worldview Is | Daily Wire:
"One of the four chief organizers for the massive Women’s March that took place on Saturday is “Palestinian-American-Muslim racial justice & civil rights activist” Linda Sarsour.
Sarsour, who also served as a Democratic National Convention delegate, was honored by President Obama’s administration as a “Champion of Change”; fittingly, she also posed in Chicago with an alleged Hamas financier (fitting because Barack Obama used to give speeches in honor of Palestinian terror mouthpiece Rashid Khalidi).
So, what exactly drove Sarsour’s ire during the Women’s March? Here’s a clue from 2014:

10 weeks of PAID maternity leave in Saudi Arabia. Yes PAID. And ur worrying about women driving. Puts us to shame. http://www.saudigazette.com.sa/index.cfm?method=home.regcon&contentid=20141116224593
If you wonder why hundreds of thousands of women declared themselves “brave” for marching in favor of taxpayer-funded contraception while doing nothing for women abroad who live in abysmal circumstances, this would be it: a complete lack of perspective.
Perhaps one reason that Saudi Arabia is happy to pay for “maternity leave” is because they bribe their citizens not to rebel against the autocratic regime through massive welfare payments; perhaps another reason is because the government wants to encourage women to stay home rather than working.
In Saudi Arabia, as The Week reports, women can’t get a passport without the permission of a husband, father, or other male guardian; most Saudi women can’t drive; Saudi women are prevented from wearing attractive clothing; go to public areas that are non-segregated; or even try on clothes at stores.
This is just another piece of evidence that a government big enough to give you goodies is big enough to take away rights.
And it turns out that people who think that Saudi Arabia’s maternity policies rather than their restrictions on female driving probably shouldn’t be a guide to female freedom in the United States.
But the left would prefer not to focus on such matters, since that would obligate them to favor Westernism rather than multiculturalism abroad and at home."

Trump gets offered help to ‘drain the swamp’

Trump gets offered help to ‘drain the swamp’:

"Countering Violent Extremism, which forbade mention of Islam in association with terrorism and downplayed supremacist Islam as just one violent ideology among many.

On multiple occasions, politically appointed DHS officials either deleted valuable records Haney had compiled on Islamic terrorists or forced him to “modify” the records by removing information that linked the terrorists to particular Islamic movements.

Haney chronicled his 10-year struggle to expose the truth in “See Something, Say Nothing: A Homeland Security Officer Exposes the Government’s Submission to Jihad.” He believes his knowledge and experience would make him an ideal candidate to help Trump “drain the swamp.”"
