How Obama's White House weaponized media against Trump | TheHill:
"The leaking of Flynn’s name was part of what can only be described as a White House campaign to hype the Russian threat and, at the same time, to depict Trump as Vladimir Putin’s Manchurian candidate. On Dec. 29, Obama announced sanctions against Russia as retribution for its hacking activities. From that date until Trump’s inauguration, the White House aggressively pumped into the media two streams of information: one about Russian hacking; the other about Trump’s Russia connection. In the hands of sympathetic reporters, the two streams blended into one. "

VA retaliation against whistleblower: doctor kept in empty room | Fox News:
Whistleblower retaliation continues as VA scandals persist
"Dr. Dale Klein may be the highest-paid U.S. government employee who literally does nothing while he’s on the clock.
A highly rated pain management specialist at the Southeast Missouri John J. Pershing V.A., Klein is paid $250,000 a year to work with veterans, but instead of helping those who served their country, he sits in a small office and does nothing.
All day.
Every day.
“I sit in a chair and I look at the walls,” the doctor said of his typical workday.
“It feels like solitary confinement.”
A double board certified physician and Yale University fellow, Klein said the Department of Veterans Affairs (V.A.) took away his patients and privileges almost a year ago after, he alleges, he blew the whistle on secret wait-lists and wait-time manipulation at the V.A. in Poplar Bluff, Mo., as well as his suspicion that some veterans were reselling their prescriptions on the black market.
When his superiors did nothing, Klein went to the inspector general.
“Immediately after the V.A. found out I made these disclosures, I started to get retaliated against,” Klein said.
Klein was initially placed on administrative leave.
The Missouri-V.A. closed his pain management clinic and tried to terminate him.
According to court documents, the V.A. tried to fire Klein “not based on substandard care or lack of clinical competence” but instead for “consistent acceleration of trivial matters through his chain of command.”
...“It could set a bad precedent for other whistleblowers because they're going to say, ‘I don't want to risk my livelihood, my career, my security because I see what happened to Dr. Klein and I don't want that to happen to me or my family’,” said Natalie Khawam, president and founder of the Whistleblower Law Firm, which represents Klein.
...Johnson is now trying to pass a whistleblower protection bill to help V.A. employees like Smothers and Klein.
A spokesperson from the V.A. said due to on-going investigations, the V.A. cannot comment on specific cases but added the department recognizes the importance of all employees, to include whistleblowers, who identify problems that impede the optimal delivery of care and services to Veterans..."

HOW PRESIDENT EISENHOWER Solved The Illegal Immigration Problem In America » 100percentfedUp.com:
"This article is for all of the naysayers who believe the illegal immigration crisis can’t be solved. The problem can be solved. We just needed a President with a backbone, who loves his country, is willing to take bold moves to secure our nation and most of all, a President who truly believes Americans come first.
Over fifty years ago, when newly elected Dwight Eisenhower moved into the White House, America’s southern frontier was as porous as a spaghetti sieve. As many as 3 million illegal migrants had walked and waded northward over a period of several years for jobs in California, Arizona, Texas, and points beyond."

"HARRISBURG, Pa. – Harrisburg High School’s new principal, Lisa Love, isn’t messing around.
“The problem I’ve noticed here as principal is that students are coming to school but they are not going to classes when they get here,” said Love, who started at Harrisburg High in January.
“Many parents send their kids to school and they’re thinking they’re going to class.
I needed to reach out because of the enormous number not going to class.”
Her solution to students skipping class: suspension for anyone with a total of 35 absences – roughly a week of classes for students expected to attend seven classes per day.
On Monday, Love sent out suspension notices to 500 of the school’s 1,100 students, PennLive reports.
According to PennLive:
Last year’s Keystone test scores showed 7.3 percent of Harrisburg High School students performed as proficient in biology; 11.7 percent in algebra and 28.8 in literature. The state averages for those subjects, meanwhile, were 64.5 percent, 59 percent and 72.89 percent.
The school’s graduation rate increased to 52.78 percent in 2015, but still fell short of the statewide average of 84.75.
...Love contends the “radical” approach was necessary to regain control of the school and set a new level of expectations for students.
... some parents said they don’t see the logic in forcing students to stay home as punishment for missing classes.
“What does that teach them?” parent Shanelle Franklin questioned.
“They’ve got senior projects to do.”
...They could also be forced to sit out graduation ceremonies, as well, he said."

The Democrat Attorney General Xavier Becerra of California has invented a new crime: Performing Undercover Video Journalism While Not a Democrat.
Of course, he didn’t call it that.
Nor did his predecessor, now U.S. Senator Kamala Harris, when she launched an investigation of the undercover video operation to expose alleged fetal body part sales by Planned Parenthood.

That investigation resulted in 15 felony charges that were just announced, as we covered the other day, California’s AG Charges Undercover Reporters Who Exposed Planned Parenthood Baby Part Selling.
For the most part, the mainstream media that uses similar undercover video tactics — which is how 60 Minutes made its name — has remained silent about this abuse of the criminal laws to target undercover investigations against a cherished liberal group like Planned Parenthood.
The L.A. Times, to its credit, calls out the blatant politics behind the move, Felony charges are a disturbing overreach for the duo behind the Planned Parenthood sting videos:

Why isn’t the MSM interested in the Awan Brothers: the three IT specialists fired for rooting through House Democrats’ sensitive files?
...One such inconvenient story is that of the Awan brothers.
Oh, you don’t know who the Awan brothers are?
That’s also not surprising.
Let’s go back three weeks, to a firing.
Three brothers who managed office information technology for members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and other lawmakers were abruptly relieved of their duties on suspicion that they accessed congressional computers without permission.Brothers Abid, Imran, and Jamal Awan were barred from computer networks at the House of Representatives Thursday, The Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group has learned.Three members of the intelligence panel and five members of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs were among the dozens of members who employed the suspects on a shared basis. The two committees deal with many of the nation’s most sensitive issues and documents, including those related to the war on terrorism. Also among those whose computer systems may have been compromised is Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the Florida Democrat who was previously the target of a disastrous email hack when she served as chairman of the Democratic National Committee during the 2016 campaign.
The way things work on Capitol Hill is that each member of Congress runs almost like a little mom and pop business, and auxiliary office functions like IT are usually contracted out — but within the public sector.
In the case of the Brothers Awan, they were quite popular with House Democrats — perhaps thanks to Wasserman Schultz’s recommendation.
And what an august client list the Awans, who hail from Pakistan, amassed. Some 50 or so, in fact, including…

My Recent Experiences Where Science Meets Politics
THE DAILY GLOBAL WARMING HOAX REPORT:
"Climate Scientist Tells Congress: Obama Science Czar ‘Put a Target’ On My Back Due to ‘My *Heretical* View’ on Climate....
"In early 2014, not long after I appeared before Congress, Obama’s science adviser John Holdren testified before the same Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. He was asked about his public statements that appeared to contradict the scientific consensus on extreme weather events that I had earlier presented. Mr. Holdren responded with the all-too-common approach of attacking the messenger, telling the senators incorrectly that my views were 'not representative of the mainstream scientific opinion.' Mr. Holdren followed up by posting a strange essay, of nearly 3,000 words, on the White House website under the heading, 'An Analysis of Statements by Roger Pielke Jr.,' where it remains today.
"I suppose it is a distinction of a sort to be singled out in this manner by the Obama's science adviser. Yet Mr. Holdren’s screed reads more like a dashed-off blog post from the nutty wings of the online climate debate, chock-full of errors and misstatements.
"But when the White House puts a target on your back on its website, people notice.
Almost a year later Mr. Holdren’s missive was the basis for an investigation of me by Arizona Rep. Raul Grijalva, the ranking Democrat on the House Natural Resources Committee.
Rep. Grijalva explained in a letter to my university’s president that I was being investigated because Mr. Holdren had 'highlighted what he believes were serious misstatements by Prof. Pielke of the scientific consensus on climate change.' He made the letter public.
The 'investigation' turned out to be a farce.
In the letter, Rep. Grijalva suggested that I— and six other academics with apparently heretical views—might be on the payroll of Exxon Mobil (or perhaps the Illuminati, I forget).
He asked for records detailing my research funding, emails and so on.
After some well-deserved criticism from the American Meteorological Society and the American Geophysical Union, Rep. Grijalva deleted the letter from his website.
The University of Colorado complied with Rep. Grijalva’s request and responded that I have never received funding from fossil-fuel companies.
My heretical views can be traced to research support from the U.S. government.

Studying and engaging on climate change had become decidedly less fun.

1,400 Michigan Wind Turbines Needed To Replace The Palisades Nuclear Plant [Michigan Capitol Confidential]
1,400 Michigan Wind Turbines Needed To Replace The Palisades Nuclear Plant [Michigan Capitol Confidential]:
"The Palisades nuclear power plant in South Haven is scheduled to close in 2018. That single facility puts out around 720 megawatts of electricity.
A typical wind turbine in Michigan has an average output of about half a megawatt of electricity.
So it would take around 1,400 wind turbines to replace the energy produced by the Palisades plant.
There are currently 883 wind turbines working in Michigan, most in the Thumb region.
Wind energy is intermittent and needs backup sources like natural gas turbines for when the wind doesn’t blow.
Michigan's big utilities have announced they plan to close all their existing coal-fired power plants and replace them with gas-fired power plants and renewable sources, which includes wind.
The federal government gave the wind industry $5.9 billion in subsidies in 2013, the most recent year data is available from the federal Energy Information Administration.
By comparison, nuclear power received $1.6 billion in federal subsidies that year."
