Senior Center Compares Pledge of Allegiance to Nazism | Todd Starnes

Senior Center Compares Pledge of Allegiance to Nazism | Todd Starnes
"When a group of senior citizens in Washington State were told they could no longer pray or recite the pledge of allegiance at their community center, they reached out to the one organization they knew would help – the American Legion.
...The senior center went on to say they had a “duty to provide a safe and peaceful environment in our building and on our property, inclusive to all.”
In a separate posting on the center’s Facebook page, they explained a growing a patriotic divide between older seniors and younger seniors.
...“We feel we cannot let habits of the past be the enemy of the future.”
They also report that sheriff’s deputies escorted one veteran out of the building after he brought a flag onto the premises and recited the pledge.
Holzer tells the radio station that a staffer even compared reciting the pledge to Nazism.
The staffer reportedly told Holzer, “You think that the people of Nazi Germany enjoyed saying, ‘Heil Hitler?’”...

A Time for Trade Schools

A Time for Trade Schools:

Image result for flickr commons images drywall siteOther opportunities exist. Technical and trade schools provide a rich alternative to higher education that allows students to gauge what they want to get from their post-secondary education according to their own abilities and life goals. What stands in the way is a prejudice against trade schools as places that are inferior to university.
An article in Popular Mechanics reports: “Over the past year, media from the The Wall Street Journal to PBS have hailed technology schools and programs as harbingers of a new economy and reformers of a postsecondary education system that’s become over-priced, over-valued, and often irrelevant.”

'Green' Germany risks running out of power | The Conservative Woman

'Green' Germany risks running out of power | The Conservative Woman
"Last year Jo Nova, the Australian science writer, told a British audience how to destroy a perfectly good electricity grid in three easy steps
For a hundred years Australia had bountiful and reliable electricity at 10 cents a kilowatt that bought plenty of vegetable production and ambient temperature, she told us.
It was clearly time to do something different.
That something different – despite the benefit of more energy resources per capita than any place on earth – has resulted in state-wide blackouts, flying squads of diesel generators, and a tripling of wholesale electricity prices in just five years.
What do you need to do it?
Buckets of State cash, bypassing of the free market and a policy transition to renewables.
You can see her lecture here..."
I was reminded of this when I read that ‘green’ Germany now also risks blackouts as it renounces nuclear (by 2022) and coal, and ‘transitions’ to ‘renewables’.
You can read about this folly, and imagine the damage this lights-out policy will do to the German economy and standard of living here.

...Hundreds of thousands of people have read the post we did yesterday morning authored by David Steinberg.
It is everywhere on Twitter and Facebook and has been linked by any number of popular web sites, most recently Real Clear Politics.
The Democratic Party press is averting its eyes, but they can’t keep the secret.
...The segment is well worth your time:
Undoubtedly Nancy Pelosi has been briefed on the facts surrounding what appear to be Ilhan Omar’s multiple frauds and crimes–facts to which Omar, so far, has made no response..."

NEW YORK TIMES ARTICLE PRAISES SOVIET UNION FOR DIVERSITY IN LOSING SPACE RACE

Instapundit Blog Archive NEW YORK TIMES ARTICLE PRAISES SOVIET UNION FOR DIVERSITY IN LOSING SPACE RACE
See the source image
"The New York Times published an article detailing “How the Soviets Won the Space Race for Equality” Tuesday, highlighting how socialism allowed people of “the humblest origins” to become successful.

The article, published under the “Past Tense” section, compared the “segregated United States” to the Soviet Union during the space race. While America put the first man on the moon, the Soviets sent the first man into space in 1961, before the U.S., and then sent “the first woman, the first Asian man, and the first black man into orbit – all years before the Americans would follow suit,” the article read.
It’s straight out of the Howell Raines school of group identity politics.
As Raines’ classic Freudian slip went in 2001, a couple of years before Jayson Blair became a household name for all the wrong reasons, the Times’ hiring campaign “has made our staff better and, more importantly, more diverse.”
Similarly, the Soviets lost the space race, but their hearts were purer. (Except they most certainly weren’t.)--Posted by
